The medics shout out details as Chelsea's wheeled into Memorial's emerg - followed by the newborn (who's stable but having episodes of apnea). The Abbott's trail in after - Vikki blaming herself for Chelsea running off. Abby and Nikki are updated - and wonder who delivered the baby.
Calling from the club, the only info Adam's given is that mother and baby have been admitted.
At NE, Victor can't reach the pilot - and suspects Anita's just upset because Chelsea didn't come to HER (and she won't be able to cash in on the baby). Getting another call, Victor reports 'the baby's been born'.
While Jack's at home, grimacing over the marriage license, Genevieve's drinking at the club's bar (recalling the harsh words she just overheard). Putting on his happy voice, Jack calls - still coming over? Of course - Genevieve replies in her happy voice too.
Ashley's delighted to be invited to hang out with Sharon and Faith (on the CL's patio). Bringing a gift, Ash is grateful to be part of Faith's life. You're important to her - Sharon knows how hard it was on Ashley (to lose Faith). Ashley's just happy that Faith's happy.
In Memorial's lounge, a police officer takes statements - just a formality. Vikki was the first to get there - AFTER the baby was born. No one has any idea who helped - and called the ambulance. Nikki's left to thank the officer - then is stunned to hear Victor gets the credit (his choppers were canvassing the area).
Victor forbids Anita from going to the hospital - HE'LL keep her informed. He removes an envelope from the safe - take this and don't come back. Fine - you're the boss, she leaves Victor to make a call (having Anita followed).
When Chelsea awakens confused, the nurse explains she's in emergency - and has had her baby.
Arriving late, Genevieve tells Jack that she got lost in her thoughts. Their original marriage license is still good - guess Jack always hoped deep down that they'd reconcile. Stop it! Genevieve know he's lying.
Yes - Genevieve WAS there earlier (and heard what Jack told his confidante, Nikki). It was all 'bull' - Jack's merely trying to keep his family at bay. He WANTS this marriage - believe that!
In Sharon's lap, Faith does indeed remember everything she's been told about Aunt Ashley. Sharon knows how important the relationship is - to both Ashley AND Faith.
Arriving at Memorial, Adam lies to Abby - he's there to get his eyes checked. In the ER? Updating on Chelsea, Abby says it's a good thing 'they' found her. Yes, she had the baby (after a mystery person saved her). Why is Adam so concerned anyway?
The doctor updates Nikki and the Abbott's - mother and son are fine. Good thing they were brought in so quickly. While the Abbott's are lead off to see the baby, Chelsea's unable to answer the officer's questions. Having no memory of what happened (or who helped her), she just wants to know if her baby's OK. Anita bustles in - not to worry sweetheart - she's there to make everything better.
PLease believe me, Jack insists his feelings for Genevieve haven't changed. Swiping tears, she really DOES want to fix what she tore apart - to have a life with Jack (which is what he wants too). Genevieve convinced, Jack gets a call from Nikki - he's an Uncle again. When Genevieve declines his invitation to go to GCM, Jack needs to know - are we good? Genevieve WANTS to trust him - and hopes she can ~kiss~ I love you - I hope you know that. Speechless, Jack's left to look troubled.
As Anita fusses over her, Chelsea makes it clear that she's giving the baby to the Abbott's. Oh? Anita figured she took off because she figured it was stupid to just give the baby up. Chelsea and the baby almost died - and Anita's here for a pay off?! Get out of here! They can afford it! Get out of here, Chelsea repeats.
The Abbott's gush over 'their' baby (who, according to Vikki, looks just like Billy). I'm your Mommy. And I'm your Daddy. It'll be just like Father Knows Best. Billy's talked to Mike - the papers Chelsea signed aren't always iron clad. Next, she'll sign her parental rights away (at a hearing). Vikki's scared - hoping it doesn't turn out like Lucy. Happy thoughts, Billy reassures.
Back at CL's, Adam picks up a ball that bounces to his feet - causing him to flashback to putting Faith in Ashley's arms. Spotting him, Sharon leaves Faith with Ashley - and takes the ball without uttering a word. Adam hang on, Ashley runs over - you've hurt so many people - why are you still in GC? (she's more curious that furious). You're right, Adam exits.
The Abbott's visit Chelsea - glad she's OK, Vikki apologizes for the argument. The baby? He's great. Billy wants to discuss custody. Wow - you guys don't waste a second, do you? Vikki knows it can't be easy. Chelsea won't discuss anything until she sees her baby.
Still in his office, Victor's on the phone - keep an eye on Anita (and me informed). Nikki arrives to update (and relaying what the officer told her, wonders why the hell HE didn't tell her what was going on with their daughter). No - we discuss it HERE - Nikki's not even sure she IS going 'home' with Victor.
Sharon tries to convince Ashley that Adam wouldn't hurt them now (after his epiphany at the farm). Ashley's not buying it - he's a con artist. Sharon was THERE - saw the profound change. He wants to be a better person. But him helping Patty escape (and not telling her) is why Sharon won't let him in her life. Relieved to hear it, Ashley gets a call from Abby - summoning her to GCM; Billy's baby's been born. After Jack rolls in, Billy and Vikki join them - worried that Chelsea might change her mind.
Holding her baby, Chelsea sniffs - wishing she could keep her perfect baby. Your Daddy and his wife will give you a great life. Yada, yada, yada - I'll love you forever sweet boy. She summons the Abbott's - I'm ready. Exiting with their son, Billy and Vikki give their word (that they'll love him no matter what). Arriving, Adam watches Chelsea cry from the doorway.
Back at NE, Nikki continues to berate Victor (who shouts that them bonding with Billy's 'bastard' child will only hurt them when it all blows up. This is about my sobriety? Nikki's aghast. Yes - Victor's afraid to lose her again - to the damn bottle!
Now calmer, Nikki didn't realize Victor was worried about her sobriety. OK - no 'sugar coating' - but remember this was YOUR idea, Victor warns. Nikki needs trust between them - without it, they have nothing.
On speakerphone, Jack and Abby give Ashley more good news - Chelsea's determined that Vikki and Billy will raise her baby. After Abby goes to the nursery, Ashley forces Jack to confide that he and Genevieve have arrived at a mutually beneficial arrangement. Jabot will have BofN by the end of the week.
At the club's bar, Genevieve puts back another drink. Ordering another, the marriage license serves as a coaster for her empty glass.
Still on the patio, Sharon fusses over her precious Faith. So many times I almost lost you - oh, how grateful Sharon is ~hug~
Yes, Adam 'heard' that Chelsea had her baby. Does she really wanna let the Abbott's raise him? It's what's best for him - not about me, Chelsea sniffles. And when Adam takes her hand, she flashes back to him delivering the baby. OMG - it was YOU. You delivered the baby! Yes - it'll be our little secret, Adam admits.
Cradling her son, Vikki can't believe he's theirs. Oh how long they've waited. And when Billy marvels (not many women would accept ....). Stop - he's OURS, Vikki doesn't care how 'peanut' got there. But they DO have to come up with a name ....
Next: You'll finally be able to hear, Lily raves. Hopefully, Devon's cautiously optimistic .... In my life - if thing can go wrong, it usually does, a disheveled lookin' Harmony whines to Neil ... I thought you were leaving town. Well, I WAS - until your wife talked me out of it. Carmine's announcement causes Kevin to give Chloe a puzzled look.
My Thoughts. If Genevieve was smart (and wanted to test Jack's honesty), she'd do a pre-nup - giving BofN to Jack ONLY after a specified number of years have transpired - or sign it over in increments. 10% on their 1st anniversary - 50% on their 5th ..... Vikki really thinks their lives resemble anything close to Father Knows Best? They're more like The Addam's Family ... Wasn't Anita sent on a 'trip around the world' - by Jeffrey? So now she's been paid to leave town by both men? .... Why are you being so mean? Anita asks Victor with a straight face (guess she hasn't read Ruthless) ... Opening his safe (so cleverly hidden behind a piece of wall art) - keying in the access numbers right in front of a career con artist, probably isn't the smartest thing Victor's done ... Ashley's grateful that Sharon's 'continued' to let her be part of Faith's life? The visits must have taken place off screen - because I can't remember the last time Ashley even mentioned Faith ... Sharon told Faith all about the woman who took care of her during her first months? But no mention of Adam's involvement I assume. Shouldn't Ashley or Sharon have washed off the ball Faith's playing with (since it was on CL's floor)?.... Why is Victor always trying to postpone important discussions until 'later' - or when we 'get home'. I guess the drive home gives him time to come up with an excuse or a lie - plus there's always a nice full decanter of Tequila handy when he gets home (which he'd put out of sight if he was THAT worried about Nikki's sobriety). He didn't seem overly concerned about Nikki while following Genevieve to France, then Japan. Or interested enough to attend meetings with Nikki (or Al-anon)... There's no reason Victor can't answer the question right there and now. But if honesty's 'very important' to Nikki's recovery, she's definitely with the wrong man (in the wrong family - and in the wrong town_ ... A good percent of those 'many' times Sharon almost 'lost' Faith were of her own making (like using her forged passport to try leave the country to help Adam) .... Chelsea falling in a frozen (or almost frozen) lake doesn't make Vikki an 'idiot' - it makes Chelsea an idiot. You'd think after Brad's drowning (and the other near misses), there'd be some cautionary signs posted (like 'hey idiots - stay off the lake'). If there's no sign that anyone was at the cabin, why is it assumed that Chelsea even HAD help? (though I guess the bloodied blankets and scissors might be a tip off) .... Who knows what kind of 'trouble' Chelsea's in, Anita squawks (a bit late, she's already IN trouble) ... GCM has to be the only emergency room in North America that doesn't have a lounge full of people waiting for medical attention. |
