Claiming she has 'bride' things to do, Genevieve gives her word that she WILL meet Jack in Vegas. Grateful for a second chance, she has high hopes for this marriage (as does Jack).
As Nikki listens, Victor talks about hiring Chelsea - to prove to Vikki (that Billy's scum). Seducing him was the deal - not getting pregnant. Chelsea isn't after money - she's giving the baby to the Abbott's. Her 'job' done, Victor orders Chelsea out of town - he'll transfer the money wherever she wants.
After shopping for baby clothes, Vikki and Abby take a table at the GCAC. Adam saunters over smiling at the mini leather jacket. He was gonna get the baby something just like that. Vikki quickly wipes the smile off his face - she doesn't want Adam buying anything for her baby - don't go anywhere near him.
At CL's, Devon tells Harmony not to shout - he can hear so much better ~hug~ Invited over, Tucker doesn't wanna intrude. You're family, Harmony reminds.
On the patio, Lauren's planned a trip to Toronto - to visit Fen and Scotty. Mike thinks it time Fen come home. He misses his room; his friends. You KNOW why he can't come back, Lauren eyeballs Daisy (wheeling Lucy).
As Phyllis is rallying her staff for great cover ideas, Avery arrives. Dad's estate was easy to settle (nothing left after settling with everyone he 'bilked'). But Avery did find this (a large envelope with Phyllis' name on it).
Back at CL's, Devon's entertained with stories of 'back in the day'. Harmony never thought she'd see them all laughing together - anything IS possible.
Arms folded, Daisy doesn't see the need for Daniel to exercise his visitation in a 'public place'. She defends 'starting it' -with the court order (knowing Phyllis would have removed Lucy from the penthouse if she had warning).
Meanwhile, on the patio, Lauren refuses to bring Fen home with Daisy around. Sadly, Mike doubts the bitch is going anywhere. She's been the perfect parolee. Offering to hire bodyguards, Mike insists Fen come home - Lauren damn well knows he wouldn't put his son at risk. He's as safe here as in Canada. You're living in a dream world, Lauren sneers.
You're baby's my nephew, Adam reminds. Following him to the bar, Vikki claims the only thing her kids will know about Uncle Adam is to stay away from him. Abby jumps in like a Chihuahua - it's Adam's fault Chelsea almost drown (running away from an argument about HIM). It could have been just like... *sniff*. Flashing back to saving Chelsea - delivering the baby, Adam walks away near tears - sorry you see it that way.
Victor continues. Chelsea was supposed to take some incriminating photos - then disappear. The sex - the drugs - was HER doing. Chelsea's friends got greedy. Yeah, well - Victor had to clean up the mess.
Bags in the limo - the pilot waiting, Mrs Martinez sees Jack to the front door. But his departure's postponed when Nikki hurtles in - blubbering about the conversation she overheard. Victor sent Chelsea to seduce Billy - which means he must have had a hand in everything after that. Jack does his angry lip bite.
Giving Phyllis the large envelope, Avery denies knowing what's inside. Taking a peek, Phyllis can't believe it.
Ending a call, Vikki tells Abby that Billy's meeting with lawyers (re: the pilot). Her salad untouched, her appetite ruined (by Adam), Vikki just wants to get back to her baby.
A weepy Chelsea doesn't feel deserving of the flowers Adam brings her. Let's just say he's not the only person who's done bad things. Chelsea's tried - but isn't sure she can make amends. The Newman's and Abbott's aren't forgiving, Adam knows - especially to outsiders, like us.
Told that Victor's trying to pay (and send) Chelsea off, Jack won't let him get away with it - but now he's gotta fly to Vegas. Don't do anything rash (instructs the man who's 'flying off to marry Mata Hari'). Invited to stay at Jack's (instead of the ranch), Nikki pleads - don't do this. It's Victor! her phone rings. Give him hell, Jack says in parting.
At the club, Victor wonders why she's not there to have dinner. His lies listed, Victor doesn't know how much Nikki THINKS she knows. Nikki knows the truth - and that she's THROUGH. I told you one more lie and we're finished ~click~ Genevieve comes through the revolving door - to announce she's marrying Jack in Vegas tonight. Congratulations - and good luck - Victor's never known two people more deserving of one another.
With his folks, Devon's back at the studio. Ending his call with Roxy, it's time to hear Angelina's new song.
Watching her son through the nursery window, Vikki's asked if she's scared. Petrified, she tells Abby - for a lot of reasons.
Chelsea tells Adam that she was tending bar - where Billy hung out - when she got an incredible (cash) offer. All she had to do was come on to Billy - slip something his drink nd take a few photos. But - things went too far - people got hurt. Able to relate, Adam guesses Dear Old Dad was behind it. And when the plan goes awry, Victor gets rid of the scapegoat. What will Chelsea do? She's not going anywhere until after the custody hearing.
Daisy's vicious and unpredictable - and Lauren won't let Fen be her next victim. Neither does Mike - but he doesn't want his son in a foreign country either. I gotta take this (his phone rings). Yeah - you always do, Lauren snips.
Mike heads in to inform Daniel that the hearing's been scheduled for April 23rd. Having just heard from her lawyer, Daisy tells Daniel that he doesn't have to do this. It's HIS time with Lucy (he doesn't wanna get into it). Fine - be a good girl for Daddy, Daisy exits. Rejoining Lauren, Mike's told that she's heading to Toronto. She'd love it if he could join them (after this business). If not, see you when I see you.
Vikki's afraid Chelsea will change her mind. Oh how she loves li'l John. SHE'S the lucky one. And with one last admiring glance through the window, Vikki walks Abby out (to get her laptop so she can introduce Reed to his baby brother via Skype).
All Victor wanted was to break up Vikki's marriage. Chelsea let her friends plant drugs - then accused Billy of rape, embarrassed that she'd fallen for a 'mark'. Billy was sent to prison because of her. Yes - but he also has a son because of you, Adam's proud that she's putting her baby first. Chelsea believes people can change - as they both have.
Back at the studio, Harmony's impatient - and excited to hear the song. Devon grew up listening to songs Tucker produced - never dreaming he'd be involved with one of his (much less turn out to be his father). And, for the first time, Devon hears the song (all touched by the heartfelt lyrics).
Holding a copy of Black Beauty, the book her Dad read to her as a child, Phyllis doesn't see it as 'touching' - it's 'manipulative' - to mess with her head. But Phyllis isn't that stupid. What did he leave Avery? Nothing.
Devon declares the song 'exactly' the way he heard it in his head. He doesn't like it - he loves it (much to Tucker and Harmony's delight).
Phyllis figures that because Avery was close to their father, he didn't feel the need to resort to something so 'blatant'. Yes - Phyllis DOES believe he's reaching out from beyond the grave to make her feel guilty. And when Mike stops by (to relay the hearing date), Phyllis is glad to have something 'important' to talk about.
In a suite in Las Vegas, Genevieve's already toasting to her and Jack's future - there WILL be one. License in hand, she's sure she can make Jack love her again - you'll see.
Wheeling on the elevator, Jack tells the bellhop that he's getting married. I've got this, Nikki takes over. What the hell is she doing? Stopping Jack from making the worst mistake of his life (she pushes the 'stop' button).
Abby loves the song too. Tucker's humbled when Devon gives him credit - he just turned a few knobs. You BOTH deserve credit, Harmony compromises.
Working at the club's bar, Mike tells Avery that he doesn't need to 'go home'. Yeah, he's OK - just misses his son. Tearing up, Avery misses her Dad - or the image she has of him (believing him innocent - until his deathbed confession). He's gone - and Avery has nothing to remember him by. Now weeping, Avery thinks George left Phyllis that book to say he loved (and didn't forget) her. Sobbing in Mike's arms - AVERY'S the one who stayed to defend him (and was left nothing).
On the patio, Daniel has Lucy in his lap - Phyllis declares the hearing 'the beginning of the end' (for you know who). Inside, Daisy leaves a message for Ricky - wanting to know how he's gonna help her 'stick it to Phyllis' - and keep Lucy). Back to the patio, Phyllis has to go come up with a cover story. The envelope? Daniel's told to throw it away.
As the nurse holds up l'il John for Adam to admire, Vikki approaches the nursery window - I told you to stay away from my baby. Through the intercom, she orders the nurse to put the baby back in his crib - this man's not welcome. I'm not hurting him 'Vic'. And as Vikki repeats her orders, Chelsea wheels her IV over - what's your problem? Adam hasn't done anything wrong. Your brother deserves to see the baby - he pulled me from the lake and delivered him.
Applying make up, Genevieve hops up to hide when someone enters the suite. It's bad luck to see the bride. Marrying Jack's bad luck. Victor? In the flesh.
Why has Nikki followed Jack half way across the country? Especially after what just happened with Victor?? That's exactly why Nikki did - it suddenly hit her - this 'win at all costs' is something Victor would do. Neither of us deserve an unhappy marriage. And as Jack insists that nothing Nikki can say will change his mind, she leans down and kisses him!
Next: Vikki's updating Billy - Chelsea said that he asked her not to say anything to us. Ricky beside her, Phyllis scratches her head - that's SO not Adam ... I can't be sure - but I think my toes are still curling, Jack tells Nikki (looking mighty pleased with herself in a hotel suite) ... In what appears to be another suite, Victor makes an enticing offer to Genevieve - I want you to run the damn company - Nick and Sharon would answer to you.
My Thoughts: Does Nikki really need to inconvenience other hotel guests by stopping the elevator? It's not like Jack can easily escape her. Just lock up the brakes on his wheelchair ... Surfers aren't the best tippers? Who knew? ... Roxy asks Devon to send her a copy of Angie's new song? Why hasn't he uploaded this one online like he did the last 'hit'? And where exactly IS the woman Devon 'loves' (during his surgery and career launch)? ... Yes - Victor should really be 'held accountable' (Nikki tells the man who got off scott free for forging a diary - while Adam served his time) ... Genevieve's been running around 'like a crazy person' (oh? Like a person who'd make a life size floor collage of her dead daughter?) ... Chelsea's friends got 'greedy' - when they 'heard' what she was up to? I guess they wouldn't have 'heard' anything if she hadn't 'told' them anything.. Wow - it sure didn't take anyone long to get 'half way across the country' (which is approximately a 3 hour flight) ... How did Victor manage to just walk into Genevieve's suite? Don't hotel rooms lock automatically? .... Fans who've long been bemoaning the fact that the fabulous Baldwin's haven't been given a substantial storyline in eons might be sorry they asked. Careful what you wish for'. Lauren's usual role as damsel in danger has been overdone - but it'd be nice if one couple remained monogomous. Really Mike - let your phone go to voicemail. It's not like it's Victor. The hearing's on the 23rd - there's no urgency in rushing over to Daniel immediately ... Oh Mike - Canada's hardly a 'foreign country' - and there's no way Fen will be as safe there - per capita, GC has more criminals than anywhere in the States, never mind Canada ... Victor should know all about 'the cheapest trick in the book' - how many children has he unwittingly (and unwillingly) sired? .... Poor L'il John - that leather jacket's adorable - but very stiff looking ... Why is Adam shortening Victoria's name to 'Vic'? .... Huh? All that whining about not being able to see Lucy - all that moping over the phone photo - and Phyllis not only doesn't hold the kid - but must head back to RS - to come up with a cover story? Why throw the book out? Can't it be donated? .. There's 'nothing' Mike can do? No 'recourse' against Daisy? Again - why no restraining order? At least the Baldwin's could have coffee at their brother's place without having to loot at her
... Given what happened with Lucy, shouldn't Vikki hold off on introducing Reed to his little brother? At least until the hearing's over? There's still a chance the kid'll be confiscated before Reed even gets to see his brother (in person as opposed to via Skype) ... Whatsamatter? Don't like hot dogs? Devon chides his Mom (who's likely thinking of how many times she shared one three ways - back in the day). |
