Victor welcomes Genevieve to the ranch. But before they get to projections, Genevieve has arranged for an interview in Bardinger’s INvestory Weekly – there’s a reporter and photographer right outside. Victor’s not impressed that she didn’t consult him and refuses. No press about her selling him BoN.
Michael drops in on Lauren at the boutique. They disagree about leaving Fen in Canada; Michael points out that Daisy’s not likely to risk losing Lucy after the custody hearing. After all, if Daisy wanted to hurt Fen nothing stops her from going to Canada and doing it. A weary Lauren agrees that it would be best for Fen to be with the two people who can protect him best. As Michael departs, Jill comes in and comments that things are better between them. As Lauren proclaims that she won’t let Daisy get to her again, Daisy walks in.
Nick and Phyllis are at her apartment; he wants to go to a movie or play video games, she wants to hit something. Nick suggests the gym – he wants to hit stuff too. Avery arrives promising to fix things. The pot (Phyllis) throws getting Daisy out of prison in the kettle’s (Avery’s) face.
Harmony, Devon, Roxanne, Neil, Tucker and Ashley are all listening to the latest mix of Angelina’s newest song. Harmony awkwardly acknowledges her dance with Neil. Dared to “bring it”. They couple up – Devon encouraging Neil to dance with Harmony.
Back at the ranch, Victor’s instructing security to shoo away the reporters and make sure they never come back. Genevieve is not impressed with him sending away one of the most influential reporters in the business. Victor does his own PR and can’t publicize his purchase of BoN until the SEC has approved it. Yes, their agreement was above board, but did Adam have the authority to sell it in the first place? And they’ll want to know where she got the funds to buy it. <cut to Genevieve’s horrified look>
Everyone dancing closely, Neil wants to talk; Harmony does not. Ashley enjoys being Mr and Mrs and not corporate moguls for once. And yet, Ashley chats about Genevieve; how glad she is that Tucker won’t have to deal with her anymore and what will she do now that she can’t torture him and Jack with it? Tucker side steps the question – no more work talk. With his latest cheque from Angie’s last song, Devon wants to take Roxanne away somewhere romantic. They stop making out long enough for Devon to accept praise for the beautiful girl and the chart-topping song – let’s go celebrate. Surprise! Sofia’s at the door. She’d love to come celebrate. Suddenly, Harmony’s out, she’s got to work.
Phyllis doesn’t think Avery did any good but Avery (FINALLY) points out that SHE was the one who lured Daisy back to town. Phyllis didn’t do it to protect Lucy; she used Daisy, befriended her, dumped her in jail and started calling herself mama to Lucy. Of course Daisy wants revenge! How else better than to go after Lucy? Phyllis will not calm down – Avery won’t pull that lawyer crap on her! The accusations keep flying at Avery. SHE was the one who encouraged Daisy to go for full custody. SHE was the one who brought Ricky to town. Like father like daughter, Phyllis won’t expect Avery to take any responsibility.
Jill asks Daisy to leave, and Lauren points out that Daisy can’t afford it. Thanks to the ladies of the United Baptist Church, she can. She bears a gift certificate with Jill’s signature but Lauren had the right to refuse service to anyone. Daisy starts to talk psycho – she loves the way the clothes look on Fen – when he’s at school, or hanging out with friends. She hasn’t seen him in a while; maybe she’ll see him in their building or at the boutique since she has so much to spend. Lauren disappears while Jill warns Daisy not to push Lauren too far. She’s not afraid of Lauren, but Lauren appears with her gun pointed: You should be!
If you EVER mention my son’s name again I will end this with one shot! Daisy leaves to call the cops. This isn’t over. Lauren breaks down as she passes the gun to Jill.
Phyllis is aghast that Avery is blaming her. Nick points out that it’s not Avery she’s mad at. Now it’s Phyllis’s turn to break down, wailing at how Daisy ripped Lucy out of her home. How confused Lucy must be! Phyllis wants to go and hold Lucy, but she’s afraid of Daisy and what she (Phyllis) might to do her.
At the club, Sofia and Tucker admit they’re both confessed, having told Neil and Katherine respectively. Tucker’s glad to see Sofia and Neil back on track but as Neil returns he retorts, no thanks to you. The rest of the party arrives and Tucker toasts to Devon. He’s so proud; can only imagine how proud Neil must be having raised him. Here’s to your gold- no wait- platinum future. Devon’s turn – he’s not paying for this to show off. It’s to thank all of them for believing in a kid with hearing problems to make it in the music business. Cheers! Neil excuses himself to make a call; Sofia looks uncomfortable.
Victor wants to know how Genevieve outbid all the competitors. Your ex-husband? Genevieve thinks it laughable and doesn’t know what Victor is worried about. He has BoN. Victor assures that if he were to lose it, he’d do anything to get it back.
The McCall/Winters gang is still celebrating when Genevieve bellies up to the bar. A little wave to Ashley and Tucker has Ashley furious. Tucker offers to go talk to her.
Neil’s gone to call Katherine and is surprised to hear Harmony answer the phone. She didn’t have to back out because Sofia showed up; she can’t keep bailing on Devon. Well, until Neil decides to be real with her, quit bothering her. Katherine appears – who was that on the phone?
Michael’s at the ranch now getting a tongue lashing from Victor for not yet contacting his guy at the SEC. Yup, they’re now investigating it. Michael responds be warning that moving too quickly on these things can raise a red flag. In the future – do as I ask! Victor gives Michael the name of someone higher up – a commissioner that owes him a favour. Do it today.
A police officer has arrived at the boutique – did you point a gun at Daisy Carter today?
Ashley stews watching Tucker and Genevieve. Genevieve has a proposition regarding BoN. She needs to prove that the money she used to buy it is clean; will Tucker say he loaned it to her? But since he was working with the SEC to trap Adam when G bought BoN, they’ll be all over him. Genevieve suggests he plead ignorance at what the money was for. What will Tucker get in exchange for lying to the feds? A percentage of the sale of BoN to Victor.
Victor’s come to offer condolences to Phyllis and Nick. He would have put in a good word for Daniel had he known sooner. Call me in six months – he’ll do anything he can. He understands what it means to fight for family.
Avery sneaks up behind Michael on the CL patio; distracted by his phone, he orders coffee before realizing who it is. He’s got a lot on his mind; the Johnny Abbot adoption, a call to the SEC… gotta get it all done today so he and Lauren can pick up Fenmore tomorrow. Avery reports on her visit to Phyllis. All the progress they made is gone. Avery can’t stop thinking about how she got Daisy released. She’s hurt a lot of people. Lucy, Daniel, Phyllis. She wanted to make things right with her sister. Now she’s lost her forever.
Avery pulls her hands from Michael’s. She’s glad to have someone to talk to; she thought it would be Phyllis. Michael offers to put himself into the line of fire with Phyllis. We’re lawyers, not gods. Okay, maybe demi-gods. If nothing else, Michael’s a good man and a good friend.
The cop now with the gun, Jill doesn’t understand how it’s wrong to point a gun with a permit at someone who’s threatening you. But Lauren’s under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.
Phyllis is surprised that Nick asked his dad for help. He doesn’t do that – work the system. He went out of his comfort zone for her. He’s just sorry it didn’t work. Phyllis will get up and fight again – Daisy has no idea what she’s up against. Ding dong – it’s Daisy at the door.
Hearing it was Neil on the phone, Kay mentions it sounded like quarrelling. Harmony covers by describing Devon’s wonderful new song. Not buying it, Harmony says Neil’s pissed at not going out to celebrate. She had to work. Kay points out the obvious – she’s there instead. That’s why Neil’s upset? What is really going on between you and Neil?
Neil returns to the table to offer his top 5 romantic places to take a lady. Sofia checks his phone – Katherine was the last placed call. Ashley likes Chicago, but Roxanne wants something more exotic like the Caribbean. When Ashley prompts Neil with a question, he stumbles and runs off.
Sofia comments on how sweet Devon and Roxanne are. She advises Devon to enjoy the ride – all of it, good times and the complicated ones. It’s all you have. Yes, Devon can steal her words for a song.
Neil and Harmony just have trouble seeing eye to eye on things. Concerning Devon? They’re just from different places. She’s from the street, Neil is suit. It makes for wicked fireworks. Kay points out that fireworks can be exciting and sometimes dangerous. Ding dong, Neil’s at the door. They need to talk. He storms into the living room where Kay assumes he’s not there to see her.
Will Tucker take the risk? Yeah, he’ll do it. Living life on the edge feels good. Ahsley storms up – what is going on?
Daisy needs help finding Daniel. Lucy is fine, but she needs to talk to Daniel. Lauren pulled a gun on her.
Avery offers her help to Michael. He willingly gives up the SEC task to her. Ring ring – Jill’s on the phone. Lauren’s been arrested. She pulled a gun on Daisy. Avery accompanies Michael to the police station – but they’ve left the slip of paper with the commissioner’s name and number on the table.
Victor leaves a desperate message for Michael - have you called yet??
Lauren is escorted out of the boutique in handcuffs. Jill assures Michael will meet them there.
Next: Tucker confesses that he and Sofia never had a falling out. It was all a ploy. Neil to Harmony: That kiss… it meant something to me too. Michael to Lauren: You lost control today. Lauren: It’s like something snapped.
My thoughts: Phyllis drives me crazy. The number of hypocritical statements were endless. Even when Avery pointed out the very obvious, she STILL refused to see the connection.
The whole celebration scene was oddly timed. When Neil went to make his call, they were just ordering. When Tucker went to Genevieve at the bar, salads were on the table. when Neil returned from his call, they were enjoying dessert. By time Tucker finished up with Genevieve, the table was cleared and everyone was leaving. No wonder Ashley was pissed.
