Bumping into the Baldwin's at G-worm, Daisy proudly announces her engagement to Daniel. Not wanting to fight, she'll be registering at Fenmore's (who sell 'the coolest wedding gifts'). And as Daisy goes for her take out order, Kevin arrives to ask why the Baldwin's are talking to his crazy sister. Wait til you hear what she's saying about Daniel - talk about delusional.
On the patio, Nick calls 'Good lookin' (who was supposed to meet him for lunch). Where are you?
You're NOT marrying Daisy! Phyllis won't 'allow' it. This is insane. It's for Lucy's sake - and Daniel's only telling Phyllis so she won't be blind sided - his mind is made up.
You're gonna bring that bitch down? What does THAT mean? Listing the reasons he hates Phyllis, Ricky's 'payback' will be getting his stories published in other magazines - show her what a fool she was to get rid of him. Eden looking unconvinced, Ricky scoffs - you thought I'd kill her in her sleep? You gotta stop watching cops shows on TV. Relax - Ricky was just joking. Yeah - well - Eden delivers the 'punch line' - move outta the apartment - TONIGHT.
Seated on the patio, Paul appreciates Avery's honesty - and no, he's not surprised to hear Ricky's 'amoral'. Ricky tried to use him (to get dirt on Phyllis). He's my son - and *I* don't trust him. He'll do anything to get ahead. And God help anyone who gets in his way, Avery agrees. And yes - she has 'time' to tell Paul how she came to hire him etc.
Looking to hire an intern, Avery was impressed by Ricky's application - she hired him without a recommendation. He was passionate, tenacious - outstanding research and writing skills. Ricky's gift for reading people was invaluable during jury selection. He never told Paul about his girlfriend? It was a terrible tragedy.
Back at Jimmy's, Ricky's not being kicked out for making a bad joke - it's just not working out for Eden (who has a girlfriend coming from LA who needs a place to stay). But yeah - she IS serious about Ricky leaving this evening. Wondering how he's supposed to find a place so fast, Ricky concedes - fine - I'll be out this evening.
Seated at G-worm, Kevin's stunned to hear that Daisy's claiming she's marrying Daniel. Lauren struggles to remain calm - that bitch won't see her lose it again (which makes Mike proud). Registering at Fenmore's is an obvious attempt to provoke Lauren. Wondering if Daniel believes this is the only way to be with his daughter, Kevin leaves him a message (re: the bizarre rumour Daisy's spreading).
Please reconsider marrying this psychopath, Phyllis implores. Daniel explains his reasoning - sick of the custody mess, he must protect Lucy (and can't wait for the courts). What if he loses again? Phyllis understands - she loves Lucy as much as he does. Please don't do this! Gotta go, Daniel leaves Phyllis to fret.
Still on the patio, Avery confides that Ricky broke up with his girlfriend of a few years (who killed herself a few days before graduation). OMG, Paul knows Ricky must have been devastated - she must have been unstable. Bringing Ricky to GC (unaware that he had family there), Avery thought the change of scenery would do him good. Glad she told him, Paul now realizes how much Ricky has 'bottled up' inside.
Now's not a good time. But Daisy's the only friend Ricky's got. OK - for a minute, she let's him in. My life's a trainwreck - can he stay there until he gets back on his feet? Annoyed when Daisy refuses, Ricky reminds that she OWES him (for having Lucy). Yes - but Daniel just asked her to marry him. Ricky laughs at the ring - he's scamming you. If she's falling for this, she's a bigger idiot that he thought.
Eden joins the Baldwin's - she's shaking. Ricky's demented - and gonna bring that bitch Phyllis down. He swears it's just talk .... but.. Mike's had concerns about Ricky (and so's Paul). Eden's not to return to the apartment until he's sure Ricky's out. Crazy's bustin' out all over the place, Lauren quips (then stuns Eden with Daisy's plans with Daniel).
Finding Daniel drinking shots at Jimmy's, Kevin's stunned to hear that he IS marrying Daisy (and would appreciate NOT getting anymore grief about it)
Arriving at the penthouse, Nick's immediately updated. Phyllis is dumbfounded - Daniel calmly told her he's throwing his life away. Her son's life is crumbling before her eyes. This marriage won't happen - Phyllis won't let it.
Paul regrets not spending more time with Ricky - life got in the way - he was a lousy father. Isabella institutionalized (likely for life), Ricky was raised by her parents (who did the best they could). Paul and Avery both now understand why Ricky 'put up walls' - and carries so much anger. And when Paul wants to know more about this girlfriend, Avery knows where he can start ...
Daisy does NOT agree that Daniel's manipulating her - he realizes it's best for Lucy that they be a family. One minor detail; Daniel doesn't love you - he hates you. Never mind that Daisy just had 'the best sex of her life', Ricky's sure Daniel's vindictive mother will see it doesn't happen.
Back at the penthouse, Phyllis continues to fret about Daniel marrying that lunatic. Nick will talk to him - but - they may have to respect his decision. He wants to look after his child. Yeah - and Phyllis will look after HER child. Daniel's a grown man, Nick points out (who'll need their support).
Still at G-worm, Eden confirms it's true - Daisy wasn't lying. Lauren's OK - but Phyllis must be a wreck. Sure Mike's still pissed (that Phyllis didn't tell him she had a gun) - but go to her - she's your BFF - Phyllis needs you now. Don't let her down.
Over shots and beers, Daniel's expecting more grief. But no - Kevin knows all about marrying a girl you don't like. He's there for Daniel. OK then - maybe there IS something Kevin can do.
At the penthouse, Mike assures Nick he's not there to dump on Phyllis - he's there to say Lauren won't be wearing an orange jumpsuit. And with that behind them, Mike wants to kiss and make up ~quick/awkward hug~ Hating to spoil THAT magical moment, Mike warns that Ricky has it in for Phyllis (who's more outraged that Lauren had to hear about the engagement from 'the heart of darkness' itself; Daisy). We'll have each other's back - and handle it together, Mike reassures (and is rewarded with a REAL hug from the friend he missed oh so).
Back on the patio, Avery hands her phone to Paul (who reads a campus article on Rachel's suicide - after a breakup with her boyfriend). Paul feels incredibly guilty - living his life while his son was going through hell (and a young woman ended her life).
Ricky bets the marriage was Phyllis' idea - so Daniel can prove she's an unfit mother (give Lucy back to her and dump Daisy). Not believing it, Daisy wants to be left out of his vendetta against Phyllis. Daniel arrives - what's HE doing here? Just leaving, Ricky grunts congratulations.
Mike couldn't be happier to hear that Nick and Phyllis are getting married. There's more - she's pregnant. Congratulations! Of course Mike can tell Lauren. And no, Nick and Phyllis won't let Daniel's situation overshadow this baby; nothing could.
Back at G-worm, Eden's stunned - Daisy's gonna be Daniel's wife? Lauren thinks it the worst idea she's ever heard - Daniel's feeding into Daisy's delusions. Eden SHOULD be worried about her 'friend' - Lauren's terrified at what could happen.
Eloping? What's the rush? No - Daisy's not having second thoughts - but had a dream wedding in mind. Easily convinced, Daisy's happy to hear Kevin's in the car (to be a witness). I love you so much, she runs off to get ready - leaving Daniel to admire Lucy.
Rejoining Lauren and Eden at G-worm, Mike updates that him and Phyllis are 'good'. Neither Daisy nor Ricky can stop them from living their lives - they'll all have one another's backs.
She's beautiful - WAS beautiful, Paul sighs. Her Faceplace page now a memorial, he'll track down Rachel's best friend for insight (on why she committed suicide - and Ricky). Avery sympathizes - can't be easy to go to a stranger for information on your own child (but Paul's glad to have somewhere to go).
Drinking at Jimmy's, Ricky's fixated on his ipad - a photo of a young Phyllis and Danny Romalotti; the guy with the answers he needs.
Phyllis feels better about Mike - but not Daniel. She loves that Nick's supporting her - but there's someone else she needs. Phyllis then leaves a message for Danny (our son's marrying Daisy Carter - together we must stop it).
Meanwhile, Kevin holds Lucy - as the Justice of the Peace recites the vows. Hesitating - looking at Lucy, Daniel manages to say 'I do'. Instead of kissing his bride, Daniel cradles his daughter. Clearly disappointed, a teary eyed Daisy forces a smile.
Next: Victor interrupts his work out at the club. I'm glad you came by - I wanted to talk to you. About Sharon? Nick scowls ... I cash weren't a factor, Adam says. Cash IS a factor, Chelsea responds. Only if you LET it be .... Daniel and I just got married. You're my mother in law, Daisy sing songs (to a stunned Phyllis).
My Thoughts: Is it even legal for Eden to evict her paying roommate with 'zero' notice? (not according to Judge Judy I bet) .... Fenmore's has the 'coolest' wedding gifts? Who does Daisy think is gonna shower the newlyweds with presents? And why on earth register at a tiny clothing boutique (as opposed to a store that sells the usual wedding gifts; small appliances and home decor)? .... For once I agree with Phyllis - Daniel marrying Daisy IS 'insane'. He's gone from not wanting anything to do with Lucy - to being with her (and her psycho mother) 24/7 ... Great - Paul's off to investigate the suicide of a complete stranger. Anyone else get the feeling poor Rachel's death wasn't at her own hand? ... NOW Phyllis feels the need to enlist Danny's help? What does she expect him to DO exactly? Sing a song? How about 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'?
