Nikki and Jack are blissfully happy this morning - dressed and ready for the day. But wanting to get a ring on Nikki's finger, Jack's puzzled when she asks if they can postpone announcing their engagement.

Awakening on the ranch's sofa, Sharon gets a call from Victor (who's already at the club). Both agree to move slowly - there's much to consider. Victor gives Sharon the day off - to imagine the kind of life they can have together. No sooner has she hung up, Nick arrives - to ask what she's doing there.

Meeting Genevieve at CL's, Leslie hasn't head from the SEC - but she DID hear from someone else. This could be VERY bad, she hands an envelope to Genevieve.

At the club, Avery boasts that she has her sources - which is why Victor's reading the papers Genevieve was served before SHE is. This could be a disaster for Genevieve - and a windfall for Victor.

Awwww Cane - so romantic. The twins with Neil for the day, Lily's being treated to homemade breakfast. They reminisce about their suite at the club - but home is nice too. Oh look - Lily's favourite French roast coffee (brought back from Paris). Eh viola! Butter croissants - Cane's really laying it on thick ~kiss~ Their kiss is interrupted by Chris - who tells Cane she's in town because the Dept. of Justice is investigating his mother.

Looking for Victor, Nick's told that he was called to a meeting - and that he gave Sharon the day off. OK - see you when I see you. Nick - wait! Don't leave like this, she jumps off the sofa.

Lily relays what Cane already told the SEC (he doesn't know anything about his Mom's activities). Ah - but the DOJ is more interested in what transpired BEFORE the BofN transaction. And when Cane claims he knows nothing of either parents finances, Chris warns that not cooperating isn't an option.

Avery suspects the DOJ is pursuing Genevieve because they didn't nail her husband. No - Victor's not sympathetic that Genevieve may lose all her assets and go to prison (one less obstacle getting BofN). Now - they just need to ensure Adam's sale is invalidated. Genevieve marches over with Leslie in tow - with urgent business to discuss.

Assured that Nikki's not getting cold feet, Jack's OK with keeping their engagement secret - promising that Kyle will come around, they look forward to clandestine encounters ~kiss~ Jack's day gets even better when a phone call brings 'the best news he's had in years'.

We HAVE to do this, Chris insists (but gives the Ashby's a moment on the porch - so Cane can reassure Lily that everything will be OK; though he doesn't seen so confident after sending her off to CL's). Back inside, Cane has a question for Chris first - is HE being investigated too? Yes.

Genevieve and Leslie replacing Avery, Victor's warned that the DOJ might investigate him too. It could be bad for both of us. Nope - this is YOUR problem, Victor's unconcerned. You WANT me to go down, Genevieve realizes it would give him BofN (without having to give her the job he promised). She beat Collin - and she'll beat the Feds too. You're on your own, Victor makes it perfectly clear.

Barely able to contain his delight, Jack leaves Ashley a 'call me' message (he has news that might cheer her up). He then boasts to Nikki that he's beaten Victor, Genevieve, the SEC - EVERYONE - and the prize he'll finally have is BofN!

Thanks for waiting, Sharon comes down dressed in regular clothes (the red gown in a garment bag). Told that she slept alone on the sofa, Nick doesn't need any explanation. She's not sleeping with Victor - they're taking it slow. Nick also wants to move on - by building a healthy relationship with Phyllis. And Sharon isn't? Nick feels she's doing what's best for HER.

Back at the club, Genevieve detects that Victor doesn't want Cane to save her (as he did in Japan) - then whines that the playing field is never level with Victor (who suggests he's just better at playing the game). Dismissed, Genevieve doesn't need luck - she has skill. Exiting the club, Leslie asks Genevieve if there's anyone else who might support her against the Feds. There's only one person Gen can think of.

Avery moves from the bar back to Victor's table - with news he won't like; the Judge just made a ruling. A huge setback in Victor's quest for BofN (and a huge win for Jack).

Taking BofN from Victor and Genevieve is bigger than huge - an epic victory (which almost compares to Nikki accepting Jack's proposal). Adam's sale of BofN has been declared legal (which all but guarantees Jack will win his lawsuit). He'll get to tell a jury all about Genevieve (who used his love to dupe him into revealing his bid). Wondering who else knows about the Judge's ruling, Nikki admits she's worried about Victor's reaction.

Nick no longer cares about what Sharon thinks or does (except how it effects Noah and Faith). Sharon HAS considered their feelings (about her relationship with Victor). She's not ashamed or embarrassed. Nick points out the obvious; Victor's her ex father in law, their children's grandfather. You really don't think it'll effect the kids? Yes - but Sharon will 'navigate' them through this complex situation. Life's messy - not a fairy tale. No, Sharon hasn't spoken to Noah. He's gonna hear about it, Nick warns - maybe Sharon's the one living in a fairy tale (which doesn't seem to bother her whatsoever).

Back at the club, Avery tells Victor that Adam's sale was declared valid. As the next highest bidder, Jack will likely get BofN. Can't happen, Victor orders Avery to resolve it (so Jack doesn't win this).

Confident, Jack's not threatened by Nikki's concern for Victor. Soon, she'll be his wife; waking up in his bed - his arms. Victor will be a bad memory for both of us.

At the book store, Lily's on the DOJ website - reading that the maximum sentence for money laundering is 14 years. Obstruction of justice is 25. Oh Cane, she sighs.

Reminding how he risked his family to help the Feds nail his father, Cane objects to now being treated like a criminal. He knows nothing about Collin's unrecovered millions. Yes, but the DOJ aren't as easy going as the SEC - they'll take Cane down to get to Genevieve (and do anything to force him to cooperation). On cue, Genevieve calls; we need to talk. Yes, we do.

Genevieve's glad she's on Cane's mind - because she really needs to see him. He's with someone right now - later - in the park. He then gives her a coded clue (about bad luck). Hanging up, Genevieve relays the strange chat to Leslie - Ethan's trying to tell her something. Suspecting the Feds got to him, Leslie's ordered to call Vance and get Genevieve out of this mess.

Cane's making a terrible mistake - and Chris won't leave until he knows what could happen to him and his family (if he doesn't cooperate).

Jack wheels over to Lily in the bookstore - you alright? Genevieve's going down - but brought it on herself. Lily knows - but doesn't want Cane brought down with her.

Avery and Victor discuss who might help Genevieve (who's not on good terms with her son of Jack - but can be persuasive - and gets what she wants). So does Avery (who's off to work her magic on Mrs Atkinson). Seconds later, Nikki arrives to join Victor (who's busy and doesn't give a damn about her news; guessing she's gonna marry Jack).

Nick calls Noah from Victor's office - call your mother, she'd love to hear from you. Meanwhile, Sharon returns home - and is startled to find Noah there.

Chris likes Cane; a good man (who doesn't appreciate her threats). This is out of her hands - she services him with a subpoena. If he doesn't give the grand jury info against his mother, Cane WILL be deported. So, I put my mother in prison or lose my family, Cane concludes unhappily.

Lily tells Jack how Genevieve's problems could effect Cane; Chris is here. Justice Department sentencing guidelines? Jack takes her ipad. Is Genevieve being investigated by the DOJ????

On the phone with a reporter, Genevieve wants it made clear that the charges against her (by the DOJ and SEC) are baseless. Avery then approaches - yes, on Victor's behalf. Funny - he said they have nothing to discuss. Things have changed, Avery informs.

Back at the club, Nikki's stunned to hear that Victor overheard Jack's proposal (and that she loves him). Yes, she's going to marry that obnoxious SOB. Then we're done, Victor barks - are you out of your mind? Nikki's left to agonize - that's why he's with Sharon.

Next: Are you back with Adam? I've been seeing Victor, Sharon tells Noah ... We would LOVE you to join us - except we don't want you to, Chloe quips at Chelsea. Thanks anyway - but she's not at Jimmy's to eat - she's there to work .... I was just letting you back - I can't go there - not right now, Devon tells Harmony.

My Thoughts: Why would Sharon return to the same uncomfortable sofa position she slept in all night - you'd think she'd at least put her feet up...... Lily's heading to the book store for coffee? Without her purse? ... The DOJ can put a spin on anything? Do whatever they need to in order to make Cane cooperate? The Justice department doesn't sound very 'just' to me ... Cane's not too bright - saying he'll meet Genevieve in the park in front of Chris - won't she have agents all over the place? ... Nick's spiel about the kids sounded good - but if he really cared about Noah's welfare, he wouldn't have instigated a call. It seems more spiteful and trouble-making than genuine concern. Sharon wants her kids to know that life's 'messy'? She's certainly accomplished that. Sharon and Victor's relationship is so contrived. It would be slightly less nauseating if they had strong feelings they couldn't battle - but it's not like they can't keep their hands off one another (thank God). And Victor has the nerve to ask Nikki if she's out of HER mind? ... Having been untouched for several minutes, I guess Lily's ipad doesn't revert to a screensaver after a default time period (which was pretty convenient for the nosey Jack - but could have been really awkward if Lily didn't want him to see what website she was viewing)
