At the club's bar, Phyllis annoys Daniel with her cloying hug - and cheeriness over Daisy being gone. She wants proof of her death - because she loves Lucy. Yeah, well, Lucy's mother loved her too - maybe we shouldn't treat this like a silver lining.
Mike's still hanging onto Daisy's bagged phone and wallet - as Malloy rehashes Ricky (a 'twisted soul') 'offing Daisy' (but that doesn't mean Paul's innocent) - though Chris arrives to say it does. Mike then reminds Paul's new lawyer that since Daisy's body hasn't been found, the only thing proven is that Paul shot an unarmed man.
It's good to see you, Paul welcomes Eden (who thanks him for protecting her - and is sorry she can't remember anything to protect HIM). It's OK ~hug~ Paul will be just fine.
At G-worm's entrance, a congratulated Adam makes it clear that their engagement has nothing to do with the Abbott's or Johnny. That was cuddly and believable, Billy's sarcastic. Chided on her immaturity, Vikki's lead off. Forget those 'buzz kills' - Adam and Chelsea are soon joined by two more. And as Gloria sulks, Jeff and Anita fawn over Chelsea. At a nearby table, Billy tries to get Vikki's attention.
Arms folded, Chris claims the evidence supports Paul's story that Ricky confessed (to killing Rachel and Greg also). He shot to protect Eden. Chris is further angered when Mike and Malloy refuse to release Paul.
Back at the bar, Phyllis reminds that Daisy and Ricky were a dangerous team. Daisy was scared - murdered, but Daniel guesses Phyllis wouldn't understand (as she's capable of hit n run). We're not talking about that - and if Daisy walked in, would Daniel give her a hug and say 'thank God'? And would Phyllis rent a car - to make sure Daisy took the secret to her grave? Daniel marches off.
Arriving at G-worm, Kevin's grieving Daisy (so Chloe will take over the search for investors). They then chat at the Abbott's table (Daniel's innocent - Ricky confessed). Gloria sashays over to gripe; Jeff's a 'mangy dog' who's been lying to 'that poor girl' (and HER) all along. Kevin has a stepsister.
At their table, Chelsea guesses she should be an adult - talk to her parents - but have the tequila ready if it goes South. At the bar, Jeff and Anita are scolded for lying, jerking Chelsea around - but willing to move past all that, she's once again sandwiched between her gushing parents. Giving her a grin, Adam's got a bottle of tequila ready.
No one blames Eden for not remembering - and despite what it means for him, Paul's glad she has no memory of Ricky's death - wishes she didn't have it in her head at all.
At home, a sad Heather pulls a framed photo of Isabella out of Ricky's box - then is relieved when Chris shows up to say she's representing Paul. Knowing Heather received Ricky's things, Chris hopes there's something in there that'll get Paul released.
Over Ceasars, Chloe tries (but fails) to convince the Abbott's to invest in their website. She understands - it makes sense (and there ARE other pockets to pick).
Anita just loves new beginnings - this calls for a shopping spree. And Jeff wants to hear every detail he missed in Chelsea's life. Adam rescues his fiance - let's go discuss our bulging bank account. That leaves Anita to warn Jeff; his little Glo-bug will find out they never divorced if he doesn't pay up. She won't be cut out - hubby.
At Chelsea's table, Gloria apologizes for the way Jeff handled things - sometimes she's ashamed to be married to him - but he's capable of love and kindness. And as Chelsea goes to powder her nose, Adam enlists Glo's help in finding a house (the perfect one being Genevieve's). Money's no issue (which catches Chloe's attention).
At CL's, Daniel updates Nick that he's no longer a suspect (Ricky is). It's sad Lucy has no mother (but HIS mother's giddy about it). Nick defends Phyllis (who was put through hell). Where's all this anger coming from?
Phyllis is at the station - making amends with Mike. Thanks for believing Daniel's innocent ~hug~
After texting to make sure the Atkinson place is spotless, Gloria calls Jeff a liar. Oh come on, they're united - even if they didn't have a marriage license. But they DO - Glo's only leverage - and 'loverman' better not try squirm out of it.
Money's not an issue, Chloe relays Adam's words. Billy's against it - so's Kevin (let's find another maniac to invest). Anita marches over - where's her sweet grandson. With a nanny - at an undisclosed location. Anita wants to babysit - she can't forget blood. Grabbing Vikki's hand, Billy exits with a PSA - just say no to maniacs.
Back at the station, Phyllis will learn to shut up instead of blow up. She and Mike 'good', Phyllis then thanks Malloy - I owe you. Maybe she'll have his back one day. Thought I'd find you here, Nick also thanks Malloy. With an awkward 'bye' and a few backwards glances, Phyllis follows Nick out.
The tug that pulled him back to Gloria (when Jeff had no memory) was love - not a piece of paper. Anita joins them - guessing Jeff hasn't said anything yet. About what? Something spilt, Jeff goes to clean it up. Anita's just a sucker for a love story (though Gloria's very suspicious). Summoned to meet Daniel at CL's, Kevin leaves Chloe to join Chelsea and Adam - with insider scoop he'll wanna jump on.
Asking Paul to step out of the interrogation room, Mike's disappointed that the wallet and phone don't jog Eden's memory. She does conclude that Ricky killed Daisy (and she was next) Let Paul go. Mike can't make that leap - the law won't let him.
Now home, the sitter out with Johnny, Vikki rants about Anita wanting to babysit - what if the vulture has a legal claim? Billy silences her with a kiss.
Glad the cops believe Daniel, Kevin shoulda believed him too. Ricky killed Daisy (who wasn't all that sane either). Lucy's lucky she has Daniel, and Phyllis. Yes, she has Kevin too.
Chloe pitches the website to the evil tech genius - who's payout will be huge. Adam will think it over and RSVP. Chloe leaves confident - to find Gloria drinking and muttering about Jeff. Kevin will explode when he finds out what I just did, Chloe boasts.
Heather and Chris go through Ricky's things - news articles on Paul (whom Ricky must have idolized for years). Heather's grateful to have such a great father. Chris then finds Dr Tim's file on Phyllis.
Paul's back in the interrogation room, alone and depressed .... Eden's at CL's, frustrated that she can't remember (or can she?)
Billy's catching up on the kissing he missed while he was gone.
Now they're on the sofa wrapped in a blanket. Vikki admits she gets a bit crazy when protecting her family (their good life, marriage - kids etc). Johnny's OURS - Vikki won't obsess on Chelsea and Anita ~kiss~
With Chelsea's support, Adam likes Chloe's idea (he'd like to get in on the ground floor). Gloria then blows up; tired of Jeff dodging her - and jabs from his babymama. Come clean. Jeff wants to sit quietly and discuss their deep love. He's married to both of us - sisterwife, Anita blabs (shocking Gloria - and Chelsea).
Mike reports that Eden didn't recognize Daisy's wallet (which Malloy goes through - and finds a credit card statement; 1994, Phyllis Romalotti). Mike checks it out - what the ...?
Ricky kept a file on Phyllis? Heather's puzzled - and who'd want this credit card statement - who cares if Phyllis rented a car in December of 94? Chris gets it - OMG. I know what this is.
Nick gripes about Daniel's attitude towards Phyllis - he needs to cool off. Phyllis just wishes it was over. Daisy and Ricky are gone - you're safe. Nick's here - yes, even if Ricky had written that book - that made her look like a monster. Say it DID happen - would Nick still love Phyllis? Nick wonders what she's afraid of. Is there something she needs to tell him? If so, he wants to hear it. Phyllis looks terrified - Oh God - there IS something she has to tell him.
Next: Why would he have it - and how could you possibly know what it means? Heather asks Chris ... I thought that kiss the other night ..... Tucker says. You misunderstood, Ashley clarifies ... I wanna get your reaction to something we found inside Daisy's wallet (Mike has Phyllis in the interrogation room - as he pulls out the credit card statement)
My Thoughts: Expecting the sitter to bring Johnny back anytime, shouldn't the Abbott's be naked in the privacy of their bedroom? ... Now the law won't 'let' Mike 'leap' to any conclusions regarding Paul? I guess the cops only jump to conclusions that put the wrong person behind bars - not release them ... Doesn't look like Phyllis is completely over Malloy (and after what he put Sharon and Phyllis through for years, it's nice to see Nick have reason to be jealous and insecure) ... Still amusing to hear the Silver Chipmonk call anyone a 'maniac' ... Why would Anita demand hush money from Jeff - then drop the bomb 20 minutes later? (negating any need for Jeff to give her any money) ... Now the Abbott's were only obligated to letting Chelsea know how Johnny was doing? Nothing whatsoever about her having a role in his life? Or their promise to help Chelsea be someone Johnny could be 'proud' of? ... Yes Chris - there IS something in the box the police missed (they also somehow missed the large print out in Daisy's wallet. Guess the GCPD aren't very thorough) .... What exactly do the Fisher's find so 'weird' about THIS day? It seems pretty calm/normal compared to the drama they're used to ... Kinda glad to see Daniel's disapproval of Phyllis running Chris and Paul down (perfectly reasonable considering he too was left for dead). It likely would never come up - IF Phyllis could keep her mouth shut about Daisy. Daniel's right - his daughter's mother was murdered (leaving him the sole guardian of a child he initially didn't want anything to do with) .... Phyllis IS her own worst enemy - it's her own fault - who keeps credit card statements for 20 years? (especially ones with such incriminating charges) .... How could Chloe possibly hear Adam tell Gloria that money was no issue? He wasn't shouting ... Adam and Chelsea have 'mutual respect'? Based on what? ... Why doesn't anyone ever get seated by a hostess at G-worm? Everyone just picks a table and sits at it ... Is Genevieve's (the former McMillain place) the only home ever for sale in GC? Adam wants a place he hold 'family reunions'? What family does he expect to play host to?
