Not letting Phyllis leave RS, Avery says the world is ready to believe her guilty of attempted murder. How's she supposed to help her?

Daniel's innocent - now he goes after Phyllis - what's with Mike and this job? Malloy's rudely dismissed. Denying Nick's accusations (and that he's drunk with power), Mike finally drops the bomb - Phyllis attempted murder!

Nina, Paul and Chris are at CL's - discussing the no statute of limitations on a federal agent. Alas, all Paul can think about is burying his son.

Nikki and Jack are in the rehab room. Off for a ride at the ranch, she won't let Lurch spook her horse. Jean Pierre? Nikki's delighted to get a call - eager groom Jack's arranged for him to make Nikki's dress.

With a kiss for Adam, Chelsea's off to get her ring resized. As it slips off, Sharon picks it up - you don't wanna lose this.

Adam drops a blank check on Victor's table - don't say I never gave you anything. I'll be damned. A little friendly gesture, Adam wants his Dad to smile. There's a lot he wants - let's hit the high points....

In front of the revolving door, Sharon (arms folded) talks about the lovely ring Adam gave her - his mothers'. Chelsea's sure it meant a lot - like this one does to her and Adam. Bye. And as Chelsea floats out on a cloud, Sharon ages 10 years.

Seated with Victor, Adam proposes they invest together. The hedge fund's legit and profitable - we can do this - let's make money together. Whaddaya say? Victor leans forward - get rid of that slut - end your engagement - then we'll talk.

Back in the rehab room, Nikki and Jack continue their banter. Sarge arrives to scold - and will work on Jack's cod feet. With a kiss, Nikki leaves Sarge to wonder how he got such a classy lady. Jack's gonna make Nikki the happiest woman on earth - watch me!

Basically, Nick knows Phyllis is a giant pain in the ass - runs her mouth - makes kneejerk decisions - but she didn't run over Paul and Chris. Did you know her back then? The things she lied about? Nick's unconvinced - your friend rented a car - aimed it at Chris? Yes - that's exactly what Mike's saying (then explains the proof). Mike loves her too - but knows Phyllis did this.

Phyllis can't remember what she was doing one night in 1994 - did someone use her card without permission? You can't help me - you can't fix this, Phyllis makes Avery wonder (is there truth to what Mike's saying?)

Phyllis dodging questions makes Avery suspicious. Amazing - my own sister thinks I'm a killer - why don't you just rip my heart out. That's exactly what Dad said when you confronted him, Avery points out.

Back at the station, Nick has the credit card statement - the VIN numbers match. The computer savvy Phyllis musta hacked into the car rental site and erased any record. A single piece of paper? Nick reminds that Ricky set up a victim to look like a drunk driver - Daisy painted Lauren's office in toxic paint (to make her look crazy). Phyllis is in trouble - the sooner Nick wraps his head around it the better. After Nick storms out, Malloy comes over - Paul was visiting Isabella (but with no knife it still looks like Paul snapped).

At Ricky's gravesite, Father Glenn leads four mourners in prayer. And after he leaves, Paul gathers Heather and Nina close - hoping Ricky IS in heaven.

Chelsea has a past - Adam feels Chelsea's past pales in comparison to his - leave her alone. They go tit for tat; she got pregnant for money - yeah well, you hired her to break Billy and Vikki up. Victor won't have that slut in the family. Family? That's progress. Adam's still on the path to redemption - just picked up a passenger. Leave Chelsea alone - don't want me going back to type; Satan's understudy. Go after Chelsea and it won't be pretty, Adam's left to mutter (as Sharon hovers in the background).

Nina reassures Paul - we all know how hard you tried. Really? All those years in California? Paul recalls a Father's Day card - full of warm sentiments from 8 year old Ricky hoped they'd see each other soon. Next year's card had nothing but Ricky's signature. That was a clue. He was a grown man - made choices, Chris says. Who was there to tell him he needs help - is love. People tried - he pushed them away - or hurt them. Blah blah blah. The damage was already done - Paul's given some time alone - to kneel at his son's grave.

Sharon comes over to taunt Adam - defiantly declaring your love to drive Victor crazy. You and your love against the world sounds so familiar. Defending Chelsea is so chivalrous. Adam flipped a new leaf at the farm - but it was too late or them - he moved on - Chelsea came along. She makes him feel .... Adam's pullin' for Sharon - she deserves to be happy too. Oh please - Sharon's SO happy - things are WONDERFUL. He's glad to hear it - but as he leaves, Sharon looks like a bitter old woman again.

Sharon can't be bothered to ride her new horse? Nikki rants at Victor - he's listless - has no sheen - an animal like that needs attention - exercise. Victor doesn't need a lecture. Does Sharon know anything about horses? Victor knows Nikki's not there about the damn horse - she's jealous about Sharon living there! We both know it.

Oh - so now I'm Daaaddd - a liar - a thief - wow, thanks Avery - we've really come far. Stop - you're spinning out. Get out of the past Avery! Stop covering - for the kids - Nick - be honest - you're better than Dad, Avery's left alone at RS.

Heather's at the station - any new developments? We're pressing charges against your father, Mike wants Heather to take a leave. Not fired - it's a break, Malloy supports the DA. If Heather's not fired she's not leaving - she'll deal with Paul being prosecuted. Chris then arrives to update Mike - there's no statue of limitations - you can and will prosecute Phyllis (who calls Mike on cue - I need to talk). Now wouldn't be wise, he tells her.

Sarge calling it a day, Jack's on the verge of a breakthrough. Don't go soft on me now (Jack dreams of walking up the aisle with his new wife).

You don't want to talk about the horse, Victor repeats. OK - if he's up to adult conversation, Nikki's wedding is happening soon. So what? Is Victor to give away the bride? No - you're not invited. Victor bets she dreams he'll ride in on a horse (to save her from that jackass). You shouldn't trust me! Nikki wants a husband she can trust - an equal. Get yourself a dog, Victor suggests. Let me have this - please, Nikki pleads. And as Sharon arrives to eavesdrop, Victor calls her the most infuriating woman he's ever known.

Arms folded, Sharon listens - as Nikki claims Victor's got all this pent up energy - with no way of releasing it - like the horse - too bad Sharon doesn't know how to handle the beast. You might be right about that, Victor concedes (which sends a bitter Sharon out the door).

Kneeling before a pile of dirt, Paul admits he forgot Ricky was a miracle - a gift - convinced himself it was best for him to live in California. I loved you ... but I failed you - over and over and over again.

At RS with Avery, Nick knows Phyllis is in trouble - Mike's lost it - this makes no sense - how can we shut this down? Oh Nick, Avery sighs. Oh come on - she doesn't think Phyllis did this. Yes, she does.

Phyllis couldn't talk before - now she can tell Mike everything. At the penthouse, Mike can't unhear whatever she tells him. I need a friend, Phyllis wails - then thinks it impossible that Chris has found a loophole. You can and will be prosecuted, Mike doesn't want Phyllis to tell him anything.

Back at the station, Chris is annoyed to find Mike's taken off - but he WILL have Phyllis arrested for attempted murder. Malloy understands - but there's a client to worry about - there's a warrant to arrest Paul for murder. Nina and Chris gasp.

Paul continues to talk to the pile of dirt. Oh the pain Ricky must have been in - to be so angry. Rest in peace, he prays. Hello? Someone there? He hears a noise - there's a rosary laying in the grass.

Chelsea joins Adam - with an empty hand (because she wants HIM to put it on). On bended knee, Adam suggests they elope.

Signing for her purchase at a jewelry store, Sharon's thinking - a good day's gotten even better. Taking her purchase, she spots a display of necklaces - puts one in her bag and exits.

Calling it a day, Sarge leaves Jack on the bars. Taking a step, Jack calls him back - his leg straightened, just like he told it to! He's gonna stand at the altar to say I do!

How many chances does one man get to change? But you never do - for every inch of heart and sole there's mile Victor won't show anybody. Must be exhausting. Nikki's leaving and not coming back - not for the horse - not for anything. Nikki? Don't go, Victor says... Nikki pauses.

Next: I'm telling you - as a friend - so you can get your affairs in order, Mike says to Phyllis ... I know why you're here, Paul tells Ronan (who announces he's under arrest) ... Nick spoke to Avery and to Mike - they both think you're behind the hit and run. What do you think? Phyllis asks.

My Thoughts: Why does everyone (today Avery) refer to GC as the 'world'? 'The world' will not know - or care - that Phyllis tried to murder Chris and Paul 20 years ago (in fact, Paul doesn't even care) ... Sharon looked so old and bitter - especially compared to a young carefree Chelsea - and definitely NOT so happy when talking to Adam. Stealing a bracelet? Really? The writers are soooo lazy. Let's hope this bout with mental instability is addressed properly (and resolved once and for all). Sharon's been acting out of character for ages - going back to forging Faith's passport - faking her death to hide out in New Mexico (while her kids mourned her). Sharon obviously needs intense therapy - but what's Victor's excuse? Is he mentally ill too? ... Sharon doesn't know how to 'handle the beast'? She's had enough practice. In her defence, the horse was a surprise - she didn't ask for a high maintenance pet. Can't Victor have one of the stable hands ride it around? Why hasn't animal activist Abby noticed ... Oh - so Greg Hunt's 'murder' HAS been investigated? His family knows he didn't cause his own death by DUI (wonder when that happened) Guess Rachel's family is in the know too ... Adam doesn't need an 'audience' - no one to impress (then why did he want to propose at the gala?) ... Ever so happy with Jack, why is Nikki pausing at Victor's command? Poor Jack - his legs might be working - but his heart's about to get broken I think ... Tomorrow's spoiler will be posted late.
