You startled me, Phyllis' stammered lies are interrupted. Nick wants to know what the hell's going on. Having seen Tim leave - it can't be a coincidence.

Avery races into CL's on her phone. Oh how busy she is. Heather has one more thing to add to her plate - what would it take for Avery to drop her sister's case - and work Paul's?

Dismissing Nina, Mike's turned the cameras off - and will deny what he's about to tell Paul. Regardless of how Eden's hypnosis turns out, do NOT plead guilty.

Under hypnosis, Eden's twitchy. There must be a reason she's afraid, Chris prods Dr Hoffman - who then asks 'who's with you'?. Ricky - OMG! No - no - no - no! Stop it, Kyle stands in protest.

OK - Phyllis tells Nick that she thanked Tim for keeping something quiet. Stop screwing around with me - Nick followed Phyllis (and knows she had the financial advisor out too). Follow me home, Nick demands.

In the stable, Nikki smirks over the message she sent. Yes - it's Victor's phone, she tells Vikki. What's Nikki doing with it? Ending this sham of a marriage.

That bastard - how dare he send me a text saying we're through!! Oh Victor's alive alright, Sharon confirms for Tucker - and likely annulling the marriage as we speak!

Jupiter lead Buck to Victor's phone - eerie. Nikki then admits she couldn't help but take matters into her own hands. Hearing the text, Vikki thinks it terrible - but both are soon giggling.

This marriage was about hurting Nikki - nothing to do with me! Sharon fumes - then tells Tucker about the 'generous' prenup. Not bothering to read how LONG she needed to be married (in order to collect) Sharon doubts she'll get a nickel (while Victor keeps his family 'empire' intact)

Start talking! Nick and Phyllis are home. Tim was blackmailing me - has a recording (about Paul and Chris). Yes - Phyllis had to pay Tim more money - I had to take it from Summer's trust fund!!!

Daniel, Chris and Dr Hoffman calm Kyle down - relax - it's part of the process. The session continues - Eden went to Ricky's to get proof about Daisy - found her phone and wallet. Why is she so afraid? "I need to get out - now! No - stop it - I can't! Ricky's hands"! Eden starts flailing. Kyle's again silenced - until Eden starts screaming.

Phyllis will pay every penny back! Everything WAS in the open - she wanted to take care of this - didn't want Nick to hear the tapes. Sick of Phyllis' excuses, Nick doesn't see WHY they couldn't go to the police - or why she can't trust him. He must stop the money transfer - and update Avery!

Avery would be all over Paul's case - but can't abandon Phyllis. Heather points out that Paul's innocent, Phyllis (not so much). Bottom line; Avery can't help right now.

The DA asking a defendant not to plead guilty? That's crazy. Mike knows in his gut that Paul's innocent - can see the toll lock-up is taking (and can't guarantee protective custody upstate). Paul appreciates it - but unless Eden comes through, he can't claim (or prove) he shot his son to save her life. Mike insists Paul NOT plead guilty to a crime he didn't commit.

As Dr Hoffman leaves to write up his evaluation, Eden assures all that she's OK (but bummed she couldn't remember more) Is her being terrified of Ricky enough to help Paul? Honestly, Chris doesn't know.

Phyllis really needs to talk to Avery on the patio. Rambling that she had to pay Tim off again - and that Nick's trying to stop the money transfer. Avery's had enough - I quit.

Victor's screwed over a lot of people, Tucker consoles Sharon (who rants that she's just another person he used and threw away). Elated to find Victor's briefcase, Sharon hopes to get a look at the prenup. Damn you Victor! It's locked, Sharon asks Tucker to help her break into it.

Finding Victor's phone isn't a good sign, Nikki can't help but worry (or think of anything else). Please - don't let him ruin your happy new life, Vikki pleads (knowing it's Victor's goal).

Tucker may not feel he has a right to break into Victor's briefcase - but has no compunctions about suggesting Sharon use something heavy to hit the lock. With a few 'whacks', it's open - and in her money grubbin' hands, Sharon holds the prenup she never shoulda signed.

Back in the stable, Vikki believes Dad took off to lick his wounds - it's what he does. He could be acting out - or in serious trouble - does no one but Nikki see that!? If Nikki does indeed love Jack, what's she doing wringing her hands in the stable? Messing with Sharon? What's Nikki to do - go on her merry way pretending Victor doesn't exist? Yes - AFTER telling Sharon that she sent the text.

When Tucker confirms the 2nd paragraph (that Sharon would get nothing for her brief marriage) - she rants that Victor had this planned all along - to get Nikki to dump Jack and remarry him! Sharon could call Avery and get it over with - OR - take a page from her husband's playbook.

Phyllis gets it - she screwed up ... Avery's tired of being lied to - and can't trust (or defend) Phyllis anymore.

Inside CL's, Heather gets a call from Daniel. Eyeing Phyllis on the patio, she suggests they meet at Trumble's (for an update). Daniel leaves Eden in Kyle's 'totally' good hands.

Marching inside, Avery tells Heather she's 'in' - tell Paul he has a new attorney. Chris magically appears to protest conflict of interest. It's been resolved - I'm no longer representing Phyllis, Avery announces (then bolts).

Chris would be 'remiss' if she didn't mention the overlap in Paul and Phyllis' cases. Avery will do right by Paul. Phyllis fired me, she lies. Making a beeline for Phyllis, Chris comments on her firing her own sister. She's leaving GC but looks forward to the trial (and Phyllis being 'carted off' to prison).

At Trumble's, an updated Heather's sorry it's not a slam dunk - but Eden being terrified of Ricky should have some impact. She owes Eden (and Daniel for convincing her to do it).

Fussed over by Kyle, Eden coulda sworn she heard his voice (while hypnotized). Yup - Kyle 'lost it' (and wanted to kick the doctor's ass). Noticing marks on his arm, Eden's alarmed to hear she's responsible. Proud of her, Kyle lifts Eden into his lap.

In the interrogation room, Chris has nothing to report on the knife - but Eden being terrified should help Paul's defense. She then informs him (Nina and Mike) that she's returning to Washington - tonight.

Vikki loved the text - Nikki wants one good reason she should tell Sharon (that she sent it). It's the classy thing to do, Vikki adds that if Victor's NOT fine, his wife and the police should know. Alright - fine - Nikki will tell Sharon (but won't like it).

Tucker doubts Sharon can out-Victor Victor. But - what if the prenup disappeared? Sharon feels entitled to a stake in NE (making her a force to be reckoned with - instead of another woman Victor humiliated). Bring it on - Victor owes me (Sharon's ready for a 'fight') . The prenup is the only thing standing in her way. If she's never seen it - and Tucker's never seen it.... His 'cue to leave', Tucker wishes Sharon good luck.

Why would Phyllis fire her sister/brilliant attorney? Good question - but Chris doesn't have time to investigate the full story. Mike, then Nina - then Paul give good bye hugs. Chris will be back to celebrate Paul's innocent verdict.

Phyllis rants about her sister abandoning her (while Nick gripes about her paying Tim off - again). Hold me, she bleats - then is relieved to hear the transferred wasn't stopped. Tim won't be testifying. Nick can't believe she's still trying to justify her actions; the lies - taking money from their daughter's trust fund. Phyllis sure doesn't make it easy for him to stand by her (Nick slams out)

At Trumble's, Daniel tells Heather about Eden's traumatic hypnosis session. In tears, she wonders what Ricky did to other women. He was a horrible person ~hug~ Pulling apart, they look like they might kiss.

Getting a call from Avery, Sharon again claims she hasn't seen the prenup (which she lights on fire and throws in the fireplace). What are you doing? Nikki appears to glare accusingly.

At the Port of Los Angeles, ships are loaded with cargo. A troubled Victor strolls the water's edge to watch - then walks up the pier.

Next: I am just trying to do what's right, Paul says. Then you FIGHT, Avery insists ... What are you burning? Nikki's suspicious. I was just stoking the fire, Sharon claims ... Nick gets a call from Lionel - there's a disturbance at the main house.

My Thoughts: Eden sure won't be winning any Emmy's for her scenes today (and you might wanna turn your volume down for the screeching) .. Why would Daniel and Heather meet at the local book store - both have empty apartments. The poor guy who owns Trumble's must be wondering why there's so much traffic - so few sales .... I'm sure Victor would be thrilled to know that his lawyer left his important paperwork unattended at a busy coffee house - so she could confer with her sister ... Yes! FINALLY! Sharon says after opening the briefcase with all of 4 'whacks' .... Shouldn't Sharon (or Nikki) be letting the cops know that they can stop searching for Victor? ... There's no amount of stock in NE that would make Sharon a 'force to be reckoned with'. You can't buy respect (and self respect) - both of which Sharon has lost a lot of in the past few months. Victor may have lost his edge - but Sharon's deluding herself if she thinks she can beat him ... If Sharon wants to keep the prenup a secret, maybe she shouldn't be shouting about it (as the staff might hear her) ... It's disgusting that Victor would let his family worry about his safety (not that anyone's really worried). Wasn't he just lecturing Abby for doing the same thing? .. If Sharon had the sense to lock the door - or Victor had the sense to change the locks, Nikki wouldn't be able to barge into the ranch whenever she felt like it ... Have him call my assistant? Avery barks into her phone. Huh? If she had an assistant, why is she so overworked? Her plate shouldn't be that full - not like Victor's given her anything to do the past coupla days ... How will Phyllis pay back 'every single dime'? The pay off to Tim exceeds what the Newman's have in their numerous joint accounts - and she doesn't have a JOB! ... LOL @ Phyllis - you FOLLOWED me!? she's all indignant at the nerve of Nick (who was stupid for A. Not asking what secret Phyllis drove to Trumble's to thank Dr Tim for keeping - B. Giving her the drive time home to concoct more lies - and C. Never asking how much Phyllis took from Summer to pay Tim). I hope Summer finds out that her Mom 'borrowed' from her trust fund ... Mike can see the toll 'lock up' is causing Paul? Maybe he just needs a shower and a nap - perhaps he just needs a lay down on the bunk in his cell.
