Driving at night, Genevieve mutters - boy does Tucker owe me.
At home, Tucker ends a call - get those Victor Newman sightings to me asap. Mrs Newman then drops by - with fire in her eyes. According to the Internet I'm the ditzy dilettante who's destroying NE - and should go back to being professional arm candy. The public, press, Newman family don't believe she has the right to run NE. Prepare to get some R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Tucker assures.
Nick joins Avery at G-worm - for a friendly chat that has nothing to do with knocking her boss, Sharon, off the Newman throne.
Abby's in bed with Carmine when Uncle Jack summons her over for a proposition; we need to talk. In his hand, the newspaper - Newman Stock Drops.
The bartender asks Victor for payment (for his room). I have no cash - you kicking me out or what? On a nearby barstool, a woman (80's sitcom icon, Bonnie Franklin) watches.
Not eager to get fired, Nick can't discuss ousting Sharon with NE's lawyer. We're just talking about the menu - or my new shoes, Avery claims - not Nick's new stepmother. Don't call her that, Nick groans. Avery has no interest in supporting Sharon; her documents are NOT kindling. Caplan vs Caplan was FED to Sharon. But who? Avery's done some research - give this to your legal team (it'll buy some time and get Sharon out of Victor's chair). When Nick's done with Sharon she better not have a say in his father's company ever again.
The media's been beating Sharon since the press conference. The websites are making her a punch line. You can handle it, Tucker's calm - time to step up - show you've got brains and instinct. What's Sharon's vision for NE? Nick, Vikki and Adam on their knees admitting they were wrong about her - Victor begging forgiveness. Tucker wants specifics. Sharon knows health and beauty. OK - work that angle - call the shots.
Sorry it took her so long to get there, Abby encourages Uncle Jack to vent. He's coping - there's other things to deal with. Jack wants a bigger piece of NE - and Abby can make that happen.
Back at the dockside bar, Victor explains he got into a fight and was 'blacklisted'. He'll have a paycheck next week. No money - no room. Make some friends - grease some palms. Victor's lack of cash is not the bartender's problem. Bonnie Franklin steps forward - you DO need to make some friends.
Tucker's on the phone - the photo ID is 'pretty sure'. Call me on the hour ~click~ His next call is from Genevieve - who's in Utah (and not too happy about it). The PI team's pinpointed a coffee shop in Salt Lake City - call me when you get there. Tonight?! Yup - that's my girl. I never WAS your girl - and that's the point of all this, Genevieve concludes.
It's a limited partnership - we buy lots of cheap NE shares (which will soar when 'Lurch' returns). Jack's money's invested in Jabot, he needs to hit the 'Abby ATM' again. OK - it MIGHT be a bit about Nikki - avenging Victor - but it's also about MONEY. No - Abby can't help Jack this time.
Avery's hands are tied - she's stuck with the new Mrs Newman. But hand me my butt in court, she too wants Sharon out of NE. Neither Nick nor Avery are impressed with Victor leaving - but hope he's back in time to avoid court. Nick relays Nikki's search - she won't quit. Will Victor thank her for it? Dad is who he is. Both standing, Nick thanks Avery. What's goin on here? Sharon arrives to growl.
At the bar, Victor chats with Bonnie Franklin (who's drinking soda water). Knowing he's new in town, she wonders if he misses home.
Awkward. What are you two doing? In laws catching up, Avery explains. Sharon needs to meet with her - but wants a word with Nick now. Seated, Nick tells Sharon that Newman's getting pounded - thanks to her. Sharon blames Victor taking off - not her stepping in. She'll turn it around - once everyone sees what she's capable of. Your business savvy and finesse? Sharon wants to blow it wide open - fast track the new cosmetics line - take over before Jack launches. No way in hell, Nick objects.
My Dad's missing - Abby can't exploit that. Can't hurt him by pouncing on the Newman stock. Strangers are buying it - Jack thinks Victor would be OK with his daughter doing it too. Be my silent partner, Jack's already got a contract. This is good for you - your father would understand. No - Uncle Jack has to buy the stock on his own.
On the phone, Tucker's delighted - NE stock's tanking - keep buying - but hold back - it'll go lower. The board won't support Sharon anytime soon.
Fast track products that don't exist yet? Sell empty boxes and a smile? Nick calls Sharon a placeholder - a bench warmer. Now isn't the time for Sharon to showboat. We have to stay status quo - things will level off. Sharon knows it bugs Nick that they're on equal footing now (actually, she's above him). It's just you and me here - why is Sharon so power hungry? Move forward or fall behind, Sharon's being a role model for Faith. But she's destroying their legacy - it's about YOU, Nick predicts the kids will see that. Noah hasn't forgotten all the times his Mom took off. Faith will read everything on the Internet (about Adam etc.). Sharon hasn't taken off anymore than Nick - or Phyllis - this is sexism; emotional manipulation. You're throwing your family under the bus for a bit of power (that won't last). Nick suggests it goes back to Sharon's Dad abandoning her - but throwing your weight around won't earn respect. Sharon finds Nick arrogant and presumptuous - not a good leader. NE IS in the best hands. Without further word, Nick exits. Sharon then sashays to the bar for wine. What are we toasting? Abby appears (with Jack) - you destroying my Dad's company 'Ditzella'? Sharon smirks - you all underestimate me. Amusing - I am in charge and no one can stop me. Cheers!
With a stack of money, Victor returns to the stool beside the chatty woman (who can help him find a place to stay). Not interested. After the woman leaves, Victor orders. No money for rent but you can buy a drink? the bartender ain't impressed - and hearing that Victor wasn't interested in the lady's offer, says - You just blew your best chance outta here.
Nick joins Avery on the patio. Your client ... Your ex wife ... has delusions of grandeur - she's out of control - thinks she's gonna save NE. When able to get a word in, Avery updates that Sharon had the search for Victor called off. She can't do that! Well - she did. Sharon doesn't want Victor found.
Back at G-worm, Abby rants about the ditzy, klepto, marriage-obsessed, piece of arm candy destroying her father's company. If Dad were here..... Victor's to blame too, Jack reminds. Sharon's dangerous - all the more reason Abby should be buying stock. Jack assures the stock will soar when Victor returns - he'll be happy you stepped in. OK - you win - Abby's in. She'll go to Jack's later to sign. After Abby leaves, Sharon joins Jack (to rant). We're the ones who always lose. How far is Sharon gonna take her 'payback'? As far as she has to. What would Jack do? A whole lot worse (to stick it to Victor).
Genevieve calls Tucker from Salt Lake City - to report she just may have found Victor herself. She explains her trip to the coffee shop - Victor got himself invited to a spaghetti charity dinner at a nearby church. After that, he was put on a bus to Vegas. Tucker's impressed - and will fund Gen's trip. Hanging up, it's Viva Las Vegas - Victor - here I come.
In the seedy bar, the lady wishes Victor good luck. He's changed his mind on the place to stay. Money's no problem - she runs a homeless shelter with her sisters. I'm a nun.
It's all there, alone, Jack's pleased with the contract - then struggles to stand up from the chair - and take a step. Falling back into his chair, Jack's confident - next time it'll happen.
In bed with Carmine, Abby hates Sharon - but Dad would go ballistic if she partnered with Jack. Hey - maybe Abby should just do it on her own!
Still on the patio, Nick's got the search back up and running. How could Sharon do this? She's milking the situation for her benefit, Avery's sure Victor can take care of himself. She didn't expect this of Sharon. Nick wants her away from the company and the family - but how? It's not impossible - but delicate because of he kids. But mental instability could overturn a spouse's claim on her husband's assets. Sharon's history could be used - if Nick's willing to go there.
Sharon slams into Tucker's - ranting about Nick lecturing her. Sour grapes, Tucker thinks Nick just wants a pat on the head when Daddy gets home. He's gonna try undermine me - with the staff. Want Nick off your back? Fire him, Tucker advises.
Next: Where's the respect for the man who bought this house. Victor's away NOT dead, Kyle shouts at Sharon (as Eden watches) ... Sharon's giving an interview (at the ranch) As the current head of Newman Enterprises.... Nick watches with Phyllis - she's doing everything she can to undermine me ... Tucker's also watching - Darlin' you couldn't be more wrong.
