Kevin thanks everyone for being there for him today. Offered a drink, his state of shock alarms everyone. Snapping out of it, Kev has news to share – he’s taking the advice of Paul, Mike and Lauren and taking some time off to go away. All approving, Kevin agrees with confidence that he’d have Chloe’s blessing.

A man from the crematorium is at the church to pick up Chloe’s remains. The staff file out to leave him alone with the closed casket.

Served lemonade, Kevin announces that he’s off to Tahiti and relieves all by assuring that he’s OK. Aside, Kevin thanks Mariah for being a good friend. He really needs to get away. Mariah hopes he finds what he’s looking for. He also has kind words and a hug for Lauren.

Cane marches into the club to yank Hilary’s phone from her hand. Where did Juliet go? You know what’s going on – this has your fingerprints all over it.

Now it’s Paul’s turn for a brief, heartfelt chat – Kevin’s life has been changed by Paul teaching him right from wrong. Scott interrupts to exchange thank you’s with Kevin (for saving his life) Hearing that it’s too ‘risky’ to take Bella on his vacation, he’s puzzled – what’s risky about a tourist resort?

Hilary has no idea what Cane’s talking about. Voice low and hate-filled, he knows she overheard that he had a one night stand with Juliet. What lawsuit? Hilary barely tries to be convincing. Cane promises that she’ll lose. Whatever you did to Juliet will disgust Lily, Hilary taunts. Cane promises she’ll regret it. Hilary calls Mariah – give Kevin a hanky and get over here. Sharing a few touching words, Gloria sends her sons out for a little walk then leaves Lauren to interrogate Sharon about Scott.

Chloe hops out of the casket to thank Dr Harris for finally letting her out. She’s creeped out by being in the coffin, paralyzed by the drugs he gave her but able to hear everything that was going on. Victor was right, the ‘nuclear option’ (faking her suicide) is the only way to stop everyone from looking for her.

In the lab, Reed examines his precious guitar – why was Mr Ashby so mad? As he heads off to open mic, Billy appears to blab about the mystery girl who turned him down today. Also not getting a name, Vikki’s just glad Reed’s over Zoey. Now alone with Billy, Vikki asks who he believes, Cane or Juliet.

Lily continues to play mother hen – what instrument does this boy play? Guitar and no, Maddie’s not taking Charlie with her (but agrees to text her friend Erin) Cane comes home to ignore Lily asking about Maddie going out. There’s something you need to know, he blurts out.

Billy heard that Cane and Juliet just went out for a few drinks. Vikki reports Juliet’s complaint – Cane pressured her into having sex in Tokyo to get a job. Billy finds it hard to believe that Cane would risk his marriage. Vikki agrees but sometimes perception does more damage than the real story. Meanwhile, Reed douses himself in body spray and leaves the lab smiling.

Maddie interrupts her parents to hug her Dad and thank them for letting her go out. The horn heard outside is Erin’s Mom; she’s driving them there and back. Lily’s left to wonder what’s going on – how worried should I be? Cane’s expression implies ‘very worried’.

Asked about her ‘reluctance’, Lauren’s not trying to insult Sharon but wonders if Scott knows about her numerous failed marriages, stealing Sage’s baby etc. Oh yes, she WILL ask Scott (who comes over to note the tension) Lauren agrees to drop it for Kevin’s sake then rants to Gloria (who warns her not to push Scott into Sharon’s arms)

At the park, Kevin has one last chat – with Mike. Keep Gloria out of trouble. She’s been ‘gettin’ busy’ with none other than Jack Abbott, Mike tattles. He could be our next stepdad? Kevin’s horrified by the image (and by Mike’s suggestion that he go away with him)

Wrapping up their mutual admiration session at the park, Mike concludes that Kevin is a good man – you’ll get through this.
