The next move? Chance will test Martin and Alan’s prints against those found in the farmhouse. Getting a text from Jack, Chance leaves in a hurry to follow a lead. That leaves Sharon to fret with Nick.
He’s dangerous! Summer is sorry for making it about herself and having her Mom calm HER down. Phyllis is sorry she wound Summer up. Alan’s in France so we’re not in danger. When Chance catches him, she vows to look him in the eye and make him talk.
Traci was just telling Alan that she wants to postpone the wedding and have a longer engagement. Jack’s supportive and Ashley remembers Alan once telling her that there’s charm in delaying gratification. Did I? Alan left a loving fiance and came back to a different person. Maybe someone changed her mind. We all love you; we’re on your side, Ashley lies. I need to clear my head, Alan marches towards the door.
Chance is on it, Phyllis believes in him. Are you guys working things out? Summer wanting to talk about it another time, tells her that something’s going on. Talk to me. There’s nothing to work through – Chance made it clear it’s over, Summer admits.
Nick believes Martin or Alan is responsible (not someone framing Alan) Sharon’s distraught – he kept me out of prison only to kidnap/play mind games with me? I trusted him. Chance trusted him too, Nick points out – nothing about the guy seemed off. Both hope the end is in sight.
Traci doesn’t want Alan leaving so upset. Please, she kisses him. Take all the time you need – everything will be alright, trust me. After he leaves, Traci sobs – I can’t make sense of this. The Alan she loved would have understood her wanting to postpone the wedding. He was hurt, defensive, then angry. But, when she looked into his eyes, she saw nothing but sadness. Ashley’s known him for a really long time – sorry but ‘that’s not Alan – it’s been Martin all along’.
Chance is a cop and we’re an endless parade of crimes and investigations, Phyllis is sorry – the drama and stress was all too much for him. Summer needed time and space after the whole Daniel thing – he was so great with Harrison. She would have been willing to try to work things out – but he realized that she’s not over Kyle.
You’re right, it WILL be over soon and there WILL be justice – but Sharon’s running out of patience and energy. It’s wearing her down; Ian messing with her meds – the hallucinations – Heather’s death – Jordan keeping her in a sewer. This has to be the end of it! Nick knows Sharon still has fight in her. You’ve been knocked down but always get back up. He’s forever impressed with her strength and resilience and never stopped believing in her.
How can you be sure? Traci weeps. Ashley could tell that Alan was calculating how he should act in front of them – he’s not Alan, honey. He’s the man who attacked me. I know you wanted to be wrong about this. Jack calls Chance as he arrives at the club. Ashley’s convinced that Martin just left – we don’t know when or if he’s coming back. As luck would have it, Chance spots Alan at the bar and goes over to shake his hand. Mind answering a couple of questions for me?
Chance thinks you’re not over Kyle? Phyllis seems amused. Yes, he noticed I resent Claire being around all the time. Of course you do – you have to share Harrison with his former nanny, Phyllis declares these ‘normal’ emotions. Don’t have a problem with Chance – this is my fault, Summer adds. You’re not going to make a play for Kyle are you???? Phyllis is astounded.
Traci tested Alan – the man she loved was always so kind, understanding and fair. He proposed and everything became so urgent – and demanding. She told him she wanted to postpone the wedding (to test him) There was no kindness or understanding. Traci was terrified. Jack heard the fear in her voice. It was Ashley who stopped him from busting in. Martin’s unhinged but a genius at impersonating people – but he couldn’t do it for long periods of time. Traci tried to make his mask drop off – or was he just hurt and confused? You thought something was off before tonight, Jack gently reminds. It IS Martin, Ashley’s sure. When Traci abruptly leaves, they follow.
Alan just flew in, he’s tired so wants to talk after he sleeps. Chance asks about the house on the edge of town; that is leased by the clinic in Paris. ‘I can show you the banking records’. Why would the clinic in France need a house in GC? Adam doesn’t know anything about it. I won’t find your finger prints there? Chance will give him the details on the ride to the station. Traci suddenly appears to confront Alan – if you ever felt anything for me, tell me who you are RIGHT NOW! Jack and Ashley watch in the background as Alan sighs.
