At the ranch, Vikki and her ‘Daddy’ discuss Martin Laurent being arrested and what the Newman family has survived. When Vikki mentions Claire having Kyle to lean on, Victor makes his disapproval clear.
Claire and Kyle behave like lovebirds on the CL’s patio. Oh how he’s missed her ~kiss~
Meeting in the club’s dining room, Audra and Sally briefly touch base on their love lives, then business. Audra’s been offered a job with strings; a bargain with the devil, Victor Newman.
Asking Sally to keep an open mind, Audra explains that Victor came to her with an offer to run one of his divisions. He disrespected and disregarded you, Sally asks what Victor wants in return. He wants me to lure Kyle away from Claire. That should be a ‘hell no’, Sally wonders why Audra’s even considering it.
Claire cares about Kyle – he’s her first boyfriend and he adores/supports her. Victor shuts Vikki down fast – Kyle’s just like his father – it won’t work out, he’s sure.
Kyle continues to behave like a stage-4 clinger as he and Claire enjoy beverages and banter on the patio. He again asks her to move in with him.
Claire’s caught off guard; it’s too early in the day and too soon to be having this conversation. Kyle takes it in stride – no pressure.
When Sally offers to get her a job at Marchetti, Audra declines – fashion’s not her thing. Asked for her opinion, Sally hates the idea of Victor using Audra to break up Kyle and Claire. It’s personal for Audra; she wants to see Kyle get what’s coming to him.
Look at what Kyle did to Summer, Victor knows he can’t maintain a relationship. They were young and made immature mistakes, Vikki adds that Summer can be manipulative and deceptive. She believes Claire may have a future with Kyle. Victor’s astounded; why is he the only one who can see this relationship for the disaster it is??
Is there anything I can do to change your mind? Vikki worries her father might alienate Claire (or me if you undermine her happiness) Kyle will break her heart, Victor doesn’t want that after all Claire’s been through.
Declaring them a power-couple, Kyle asks Claire to think about it (no pressure, he repeats while applying pressure) Would we live at your house with Harrison and your whole family? Or in the tackhouse with mine? What would feel best for you? Kyle asks.
