How will you protect yourself? Sally asks. Audra will get something in writing. Victor’s the one who came to me – I hold all the cards. Plus, Kyle’s an easy target, I’ve seduced him before. You two hate each other, Sally points out. And what about Claire? Audra would be doing her a favour – the sooner she knows he’s a player the better. And what about Nate?
Nate has nothing to do with this – Audra disagrees that he’ll find out. He saw me with Victor though, Audra won’t betray Nate – she’ll trap Kyle and walk away. You’re playing with fire, Sally warns. Audra’s confident she won’t get burned.
Claire seems more open to moving in with him in a new place. Good, he knows a realtor. It’s a big step considering we just started dating, Claire also has to consider her grandfather.
Back at the ranch, Vikki enquires about her Dad’s health. She and Nick were glad to run NE while he was recovering (though he’s been busy with Sharon’s ordeal) Cole’s happy running the publishing division (but it involves a lot of travelling) Vikki hopes her Dad will change his mind about Claire’s relationship (as he did regarding her and Cole’s)
Nate doesn’t need to find out, Audra updates Sally that she told him about her history with Holden (as much as he needs to know anyway) Once she pulls this off, she’ll be back in the game. It could blow up in your face, Sally warns. Audra’s mind is made up – she’ll tell Nate that Victor’s behind her new job and nothing else. No, there’s nothing Sally can say to change her mind but does appreciate her honesty. I’ve got this.
Still at CL’s, Kyle wonders if Claire’s having doubts. No but she wishes they had her grandfather’s support. It’s not about us – Victor hates my Dad and Uncle. No, he doesn’t just want to move in together to make a point to her grandfather. Claire worries it will set him off but still holds out hope he’ll change his mind. There will be fallout, she knows.
Vikki needs to get back to work. Promise me you won’t try to ruin Claire’s relationship with Kyle. But, before Victor answers, the doorbell rings. Audra – this is a surprise. We have business to discuss, Audra says. What kind of business? Victor’s offering me a job. Oh, so you do have the ability to turn the other cheek, Vikki comments (and looks suspicious as she leaves them to it)
Kyle hates seeing Claire twisting herself in knots trying to please Victor. She just wants her grandfather to like her boyfriend. Kyle thinks he’s pretty likeable. No pressure about moving in together, he says yet again. Agreeing to think about it, Claire believes her grandfather will come around. Kyle doesn’t ~kiss~
Hoping she didn’t put Victor on the spot with his daughter, Audra’s answer is ‘yes with conditions’; an iron clad contract. She doesn’t want to run a division of Newman, she wants Victor to fund her own company; it’ll be part of her strategy with Kyle. She wants to do this her way without interference. You drive a hard bargain – Victor accepts. But she must open Claire’s eyes to the man Kyle really is. Deal.
Next Week: Don’t you need a break? Vikki asks Nick. That’s what this would be, he replies. No – a break from Sharon and all of her drama, she meant … You seem to be in a good mood, Mike asks Jack if anything in particular happened today. Thank you for asking, where do I start? Jack grins (as Victor doesn’t say a word) … Lily tells Damian that this is his last chance to convince her that she can trust him. He’ll tell her everything – with one condition.
