It’s an infatuation, it won’t last! Victor’s sure. Nikki’s not – she sees the same look on Claire’s face as Vikki had when she fell for a man (and my face when I fell in love with you) They’re in love, she concludes. Victor predicts that Kyle will break Claire’s heart. What if he’s the one for her? Claire might resent you, she warns. I’ve always been right – their relationship will disintegrate! Victor’s so sure that Nikki believes he has a plan to make that happen.

Back in the lounge, Kyle wonders what Audra’s up to. Probably just a job – she’ll crash and burn like she always does. Anyway, Kyle would rather focus on ‘us’. I made my Dad proud today – but can’t go into details. Don’t do this to me again, Claire’s annoyed.

Audra doesn’t just plan to beat Jabot, but all the other cosmetics companies too. At the risk of spoiling her good mood, Nate points out that Victor might be using her to take Jack down (again) – and look how well that turned out for you.

Kyle and Claire are moving in together? Diane wishes they weren’t thinking of getting their own place but can see they’re in love. Why can’t Victor be happy for his granddaughter? He didn’t have a hard time when Kyle was with Summer. We were civil then, Jack has a feeling Victor will try harder to break them up.

Audra doesn’t care if Victor’s using her if she gets what she wants. She’ll make sure she’s protected and only cares about succeeding. Nate wants this to work out for her but wishes Victor wasn’t involved.

Kyle doesn’t understand Claire’s problem. You’re uncomfortable talking to me about your work, she’d like to share in his happiness – does this have to do with that mysterious employee? Does it involve my grandfather? Kyle agrees it’s not fair to keep her in the dark. Victor IS the problem.

Victor won’t have to break them up – Kyle’s a chip off the old block. He’ll let nature take its course. What’s going on at Chancellor? he changes the subject. After exchanging I love you’s, Victor warns Nikki that something came up during his meeting with Mike.

Swearing Claire to secrecy, Kyle confides that the corporate spy at Jabot is being paid by and reporting to Victor. She can’t believe her grandfather would do something like this – are you sure? Yes, Kyle has proof. It’s to get back at my father – sorry, but this is how your grandfather operates – it’s who he is.

Audra almost feels sorry for Claire; looking at Kyle with doe eyes, hanging on his every word. Sad – because it won’t work out. Why would that matter to you? Nate wonders.

Victor tells Nikki that Aristotle Dumar might be going after Chancellor. Do you have any employees asking questions? No, but Nikki will be on alert. Billy Boy Abbott’s been in contact with Dumar; he’d love to get his hands on Chancellor again. That’ll never happen, they agree. Victor doesn’t want Nikki to confront Billy – that’d be a mistake.

It would be premature to put Billy and Dumar on notice now, Victor confirms this is indeed what he and Mike have been working on. He believes Dumar’s after bigger fish than Billy’s new company – Chancellor.

After Jack jokes that this feud with Victor will follow them to their graves, he and Diane toast to being free of him.

Claire can’t lie – it’s hard and upsetting to her. Kyle knows – we’re dealing with it at Jabot so it won’t be a big thing. Yes, he IS saying that to make her feel better. It’s not working – but maybe a dance will.

Following Audra’s stare (to Kyle and Claire) Nate think they look happy. Leading Nate to the dance-floor, she locks eyes with Kyle over their respective partners shoulders. Kyle being the one to look away first.
