Oh Billy! Hey! Phyllis calls Billy over to her table as he comes through the revolving door. No, she isn’t ambushing him – she’s there for breakfast. Phyllis has lots of ideas for Abbott Communications.
When Daniel joins her at CL’s, Tessa wants him to always be honest with her; look at me as your guitar teacher/therapist/new best friend. Daniel’s sorry to report that he’s still pretty much a mess (and avoiding breakfast with his Mom)
Sally and Audra run into each other while taking a jog in the park. After a brief update on Amy, Sally hopes Holden doesn’t find out that Nate’s out of town. Audra does NOT appreciate everyone thinking they still have something going on.
Audra vents her frustration about Lily insisting that there’s more to her relationship with Holden – the last thing she needs is Sally ‘piling on’. Sally apologizes for her joke – but, the way Holden looks at you implies more than a casual fling. She hopes Audra will, one day, trust her enough to tell her the truth.
Tessa continues to support Daniel – she’ll help him ‘slow his roll’ – trust the process. Next, they’ll work on his negativity. As usual, both are soon laughing.
With Phyllis sure that Daniel will be there soon to announce that he’s changed his mind, Billy takes a seat to remind what he said yesterday – if she didn’t give up Daniel joining the company, they’d have to part ways. Daniel doesn’t want your help. Stop smothering him – let him go.
Daniel’s a self declared ‘hard case’. What Tessa sees as negativity, he sees as realistic. But, if anyone can help me find a new angle, it’s you. Tessa’s up for the challenge – are you free for now for another lesson? ‘Hard yes’ – Daniel will gladly skip breakfast with his Mom.
Giving Audra an update on the ultimatum Billy gave Phyllis, Sally’s not ready to ‘play dirty’. How can he not see how toxic that woman is? Audra asks. Sally’s afraid Billy sees it but doesn’t want to admit being wrong when choosing her as his partner.
Back at the club, Billy tells Phyllis that Daniel wants the freedom to make his own choices. I’ve asked you to give it up – Daniel’s asked you to give it up. Sorry, but ‘you’re out’.
You’re firing me? You don’t mean that, Phyllis sputters. Unfortunately, Billy means every word. How many meetings have been about your amazing ideas vs. about Daniel? Phyllis all but begs Billy to change his mind – give me another chance to prove how amazing I am. It’s not gonna happen, sorry – Billy leaves.
