Billy drops by the house to see what Diane did with the place. You changed a lot, he doesn’t look pleased. Diane would love to know what he thinks.
At Society, Sally and Chelsea clarify that they haven’t accepted their job offers. When Summer excuses herself to take a call, Sally again asks Chelsea if Adam asked her to work with him at Newman Media.
Adam’s at the ranch to tell his Dad something important – then pouts when Victor rushes to the front door to give Nick a welcome home hug.
Letting Tessa’s call go to voicemail, Mariah gives her Mom a clingy hug – thank God you’re home. Sharon looks worried.
After leaving Mariah a long-winded voicemail, Tessa’s joined by Phyllis in the jazz lounge. Summoned there to discuss her helping Daniel, Tessa wastes no time saying that she won’t spy on him for Phyllis.
Nick reports that Noah’s doing well with his relationship and night-club. Adam then announces that he’s asked Chelsea to be his COO.
When Chelsea confirms that Adam’s asked her to work with him at Newman Media, Sally knows she’ll kill it. But, it’s a very Adam move – so keep your friends close and your girlfriends closer. Sally’s turn – Billy’s asked her to replace Phyllis. Returning from her call (from Daniel) Summer shares that he’s worried about their Mom. She understands why Billy fired her – did he ask you to take her place? she asks Sally.
Phyllis isn’t asking Tessa to spy on her son. Assuming she doesn’t like her because she’s ‘Team Sharon’, Phyllis asserts that they bonded; we’ll do whatever it takes for our kids (as you would for Aria) Phyllis has a ferocious maternal instinct – Mother to Mother, she begs Tessa. Will you please help me save my son’s life?
Assuring her Mom that everything’s fine, Mariah asks about her trip to London. Sharon’s first and only comment is how happy she was that Nick came. Now, why are you sad? Mariah admits to doing something horrible on her trip.
Moving to the patio, Mariah continues to agonize – if she doesn’t say it out loud there’s a chance it didn’t happen. No, she can’t tell Tessa – my wife can never find out.
We have different ideas on how to love our kids, Tessa diplomatically tells Phyllis that she’s just being Daniel’s friend and guitar teacher. Phyllis thinks he can learn chords and work at Abbott Communications at the same time. Tessa knows she’s not working there. Phyllis is sure that’s temporary – and that Daniel needs to work at Abbott Communications too.
Thanking Diane for the fifty cent tour, Billy liked the house better the way it was before. If it were up to him, he wouldn’t have changed anything. You did a nice job but it doesn’t feel like home.
