Billy drops by Jack’s office to update that Phyllis is out – Sally’s in. Isn’t that replacing one problem with another? Jack asks.
In the usual Newman Media office, Chelsea’s ‘nervous’ when hearing that Adam plans to ‘wipe the floor’ with Billy/Abbott Communications. This is already getting ugly, she disapproves.
Joining Lily as she eats breakfast at the club, Damian updates that Dumas didn’t say ‘no’ to meeting with her – but he wants to know what you’re after. That’s a question Lily plans to ask HIM, to his face.
Damian hates to disappoint Lily but Dumas won’t show his cards. He’s impossible to read and may be one of the few men unsusceptible to your charms. Does Lily have any evidence that Dumas is interested in Winters?
Adam admits that things could get volatile – I’m working with Billy’s ex, he’s working with mine. Chelsea wants things to stay civilized. Why does Adam have to be so cut-throat and cynical? When he mocks the idea of Billy doing ‘good’ with Abbott Communications? she says there’ll be a problem if ‘doing good’ is off the table.
Defending his decision to hire Sally, Billy asks his brother what the difference is between him hiring Sally and Jack hiring Diane.
It’s not in Billy’s nature to take the high road. Yes, Adam’s ready to go to war. You’re relishing this, Chelsea wants to confirm that Newman Media isn’t being used as a tool by the family, to go after enemies. Looks like Chelsea’s keeping you on your toes, Victor appears to observe.
Jack points out that Billy and Sally’s relationship is new while he and Diane have years of history. Yes, Sally will call Billy out on stuff; he lists occasions when she’s held him accountable. When he wonders if this is because he didn’t like Diane’s reno, Jack’s indignant – do you think I’m that petty?
Lily has no concrete proof; just Victor’s warning. Damian thinks he’s just blowing smoke; he hung you out to dry, he reminds. How can I prove I’m not your enemy? Quit your job (with Dumas)
Asked about his reaction to the renovation, Billy tears up as he explains that he’s lost his connection to their Dad; made worse because he no longer has a relationship with his mom. Jack’s sorry, and surprised. Billy was surprised too – he wonders if Jack really likes the place or is he just going along to get along.
