Encouraged to take her info to Dumas, Phyllis reminds Victor that she worked with Billy and was a team player at Abbott Communications. She’s ‘heard things’. Victor takes the wind out of her sails by saying that he’s been playing this game for a long time; he already knows that Billy wants him and Dumas to compete for Chancellor. Get it into your head – he’s a loser.
After laughing with the boys and Audra for a bit, Audra takes the visibly tired Amy upstairs. That leaves Damian to thank Nate and ask if there’s anything he’d like to get off his chest. About what? Me coming to work with you and your family.
Phyllis has more information. Victor believes she’s bluffing and doesn’t need her (or anyone’s) help. He’s sorry about what her family’s been through and wishes her the best – but don’t try to play me. I’m Victor Newman, I know what the hell I’m talking about, he gets up and leaves.
Damian tells Nate that Lily wants him to be a double agent. No, Nate doesn’t like it. Why? He worries that Dumas will find out what he and Lily are up to. Damian thinks Nate’s just looking for an excuse for him not to work at Winters. It’s not about trust – Nate’s trying to protect his brother, dammit.
Chelsea was just saying that she wants this feud to end. Billy was just saying that Victor (and Adam) won’t let that happen. After Adam leads Chelsea out, Billy orders Scotch on the rocks. Victor appears to tell ‘Billy Boy’ that the clock’s ticking. Do you have an answer for me?
Listing the obvious, Nate knows that Damian’s had a lot to take in. Lily’s ‘double agent’ idea sounded like too much. Having someone to look out for him is new to Damian. It means a lot. He appreciates it. It could blow up in my face but this is where he wants to be – with family. The only thing left for Nate to say is congratulations and welcome to the family. The brothers are sharing a handshake and side-hug when Amy comes down (with Audra) That’s wonderful news!
Victor offered Billy a lifeline – info on Dumas for me not going after you. Billy’s answer is no – he won’t be blackmailed or bullied.
‘Arabesque Ventures’, a man answers the phone. This is Phyllis Summers, I need to speak to Mr Dumas right away. Regarding? A business venture that has to do with Victor Newman and Billy Abbott. She has some information that might be beneficial – can you just get him on the phone right away??
The ladies are thrilled that Damian’s going to work at Winters. After you leave Dumas, what happens with Holden? Audra’s happy to hear that he’ll probably be going back to LA to run the companies. Look how far It’s a dream come true for Amy.
The Arabesque employee will pass the info along to Mr Dumas. Not good enough – Phyllis will wait – please get him right now. I’ll let him know you called ~click~ Phyllis is left to talk to herself. You’re down but not out – you’ll figure something out.
Victor grimaces at Billy – I should have expected you’d make the wrong choice. Billy looks forward to watching Victor stumble for a change. Don’t count on it, Victor pauses at the revolving door to call Adam – release the smear campaign as soon as it’s ready. Adam will take care of it.
At CL’s, Chelsea correctly guesses that Victor called to order Adam to launch the attack. Adam will do it his way – Billy started it. You sound like you’re twelve, Chelsea asks what he intends to do. Adam can’t tell her yet, but trust me, he implores.
My Thoughts: Have you ever gone to visit a friend and had a chat right at their front door? Then walked into the apartment a few more feet to talk some more? If they’re all so concerned about Amy needing rest, why not sit down to chat? …. When was Phyllis a ‘team player’ at Abbott Communications? The whole ‘team’ consisted of her and Billy. Despite there not even being a launch party yet, she makes it sound like she’s worked successfully there for decades. Is there a company logo and offices? Also love how she tells whoever answers the phones at Arabesque her name like it’s supposed to mean anything. Perhaps she should have tried to come off as a professional instead of Aristotle’s baby-mama calling to ask why her child support payment hasn’t been sent yet. And maybe Phyllis should be looking for an actual job. Though her rap sheet is longer than her resume, surely she can find a job since she’s such a computer wiz. And since her other top marketable skill is being a ‘team player in companies that don’t yet exist’ she’d be a perfect fit at Audra’s company – Vibrante … It’s weird that everyone’s scrambling SO hard to thwart the takeover of the evil Aristotle Dumas – based on nothing but speculation that he might be interested in Chancellor – or Winters… If Phyllis was able to get a photo of the elusive Dumas, she’d be able to make a fortune selling it to The Enquirer and not have to find a job…. Last but not least, I found the white piece of fluff on the back of Damian’s head very distracting (in his scene with Nate after Amy and Audra go upstairs to check out her new robe, slippers and ‘comfy blanket’)
