Arriving to sit at a table in the club’s dining room, Sally’s full of ideas for the launch party. Billy’s too distracted on his phone to listen.
At Society, Amanda tells Phyllis that she represents Dumas – what do you want from him? My whole future, Phyllis replies.
Devon, Nate and Lily’s discussion about Amanda’s arrival is interrupted when Damian arrives with Amy. Damian gives Nate a look of appreciation when hugging his Mom.
Lily has some good news to share – Damian should oversee Winters hotel chain. Nate’s all for it. Devon asks Damian if he knows Amanda Sinclair, she represents your boss. Damian doesn’t – but does want him and his Mom to make GC their home.
Sally thinks Nick got to his skin (guilt-tripping him about firing Phyllis) What’s going on? she thinks Nick’s right – you do feel guilty for firing her.
Yes, Phyllis’ future does hinge on Aristotle Dumas. She and Daniel were working with Billy. It was so frustrating, she quit. Now, all she needs are some deep pockets. You, my great friend, work for the man who can help me. It’s not going to happen, Amanda shuts her down cold.
Delay and mistakes as I landed in Newfoundland to visit my grandkids very late last night.
Billy doesn’t regret letting Phyllis go. What if she doesn’t ‘bounce back’? Sally reminds that he told her it was a leave of absence. Sally hopes she didn’t blow up her career for nothing. Billy insists that her future is with him at Abbott Communications.
Phyllis just needs 15 minutes with Dumas. He’s already said no. Amanda sang her praises but he still said no – sorry, he’s not interested in starting a new business. It’s a definite no.
Amy’s spent the last year preparing for the end and got a burial plot in Chicago. Damian wants to spend whatever time his Mom has left, together.
Billy loves Sally’s Hollywood idea for the launch party. She wants to make it clear they aren’t just tech forward – be cutting edge with a retro vibe. Fedoras and women in fitted jackets and pencil skirts. Billy thinks it ‘brilliant’. They decide to ditch breakfast and go up to her Sally’s suite.
Phyllis just needs a bit of money from someone who has lots of it – he doesn’t have to be involved in the company? You have no idea what kind of business you want to create, Amanda sums it up.
Damian credits Nate with bringing them all together – it feels like a whole new family. Aside, with Lily, Devon’s still troubled that Amanda’s new part of the equation.
Oh, you want specifics, Phyllis elaborates – media. She had a whole plan. Dumas already thinks there’s too many media companies. Then why has he reached out to Billy about Abbott Communications. Phyllis thinks Dumas is interested in Chancellor. Dumas plans to use Billy because he knows how the company works. Phyllis has inside information too. Amanda wants to be there for her friend but you have to let this go. Forget about Dumas.
Devon quietly tells Lily that this is all coming together a little to quickly – Damian coming onboard, pursuing you – Amanda assures us Dumas isn’t interested in Winters. Hoping Lily’s right, Devon hugs her, welcomes Damian onboard and leaves Nate to discreetly ask if everything’s alright.
Billy introduces Sally to Amanda at the revolving door. Yes, you’re the one who teamed up with Tara Locke to drive my friends’ daughter out of the country. We’ve all moved on – Summer hired Sally, Billy informs.
At the bar, Amanda tells Billy that she met with the Winters and ran into Phyllis. She no longer works for Jill and now represents Dumas. Did you have anything to do with my Mom’s decision? Billy clearly hasn’t moved on from that.
After Nate takes Amy up to rest, Damian asks Lily why Devon was so quite – he’s not sold on me coming aboard. We’ll both ‘get there’, she’s sure (on trusting Damian)
Amanda told Jill that she was jumping the gun – it was an agonizing decision for her. She’s in a lot of pain over the disintegration of your relationship – she’s your mother. Reach out to her and make peace before it’s too late.
Billy doesn’t want to talk about his Mother – what do the Winters have to do with Dumas? His office keeps postponing meetings – do you know anything about that?
Phyllis is on the phone with Summer (who’s having drinks with her ‘new hire’) I’m so proud of you. Love you – we’ll talk tomorrow. Looking lonely, she decides to call Nick instead of Daniel (to thank him for his support – I may take you up on your offer)
You’re only ‘getting there’? How else can Damian prove himself – he’s leaving his job and home. Lily was just joking – she trusts Damian. He likes the idea of running Winters’ hotels. Both look forward to see where things go from here. Nate watches from the staircase.
Amanda will see what she can do about getting Billy a meeting with Dumas. Sally doesn’t like her – she’s hiding something. Billy agrees -this whole situation is very suspicious.
