Cole joins Nick and Vikki on the patio. They were all worried about him and he was worried about himself. Wanting to spend as much time with him as possible, Vikki surprises Cole by inviting him to move into the tackhouse.
Claire drops by the ranch with a hug and a gift for her grandfather – a chocolate croissant from the new bakery. She’s well aware of how he feels about Kyle (duh) Victor’s sorry to hear they haven’t broken up.
Respecting her grandfather’s opinion, Claire doesn’t want her decisions to affect their relationship. What she has to say will surprise him.
When Kyle walks into Society, Holden strikes up a conversation. He’s read up on Kyle online and is impressed with what he and his Dad are doing at Jabot. Drink? Why not, Kyle joins him at the bar. Audra appears and stops short at the sight of them.
Cole’s updated that Claire’s not moving out yet. Johnny and Katie ‘don’t care’ if he moves in – they thought he was living there already. Nick did too – and leaves them to discuss it.
Nick goes inside to tell Sharon that he was feeling like a third wheel with Vikki and Cole. How did things go with you and Phyllis at the park? he detected new tension – what’s that about?
Claire wants to keep her connection to her grandfather – his approval means a lot. She spoke to Kyle and they’re holding off on moving in together but are staying together. OK, Victor won’t push.
Kyle’s girlfriend introduced us and Holden introduced Claire to Vespers, a nosy Audra’s informed. After a lot of vague references to their history, Audra assures Kyle that she hasn’t lost her edge – and he’ll soon find that out when she cuts him to the bone. Ouch, Holden wonders about their history and learns that they were partners in a cosmetics company that failed miserably. Who’s gonna tell me about the bad blood between you two? he’s curious.
Claire tells her grandfather that she and Kyle won’t hide their love. In time he’ll prove that he can be trusted with my heart. Victor respects her coming to him. Claire has more ‘good news’ – help me plan a birthday party for grandma?
