Not wanting to get into Amanda’s history with Devon, Lily reluctantly agrees to stick with the plan. She’s left to worry When Damian heads off to contact Dumas; to tell him about his new job offer.
Kyle’s new outlook is due to being so happy with Claire. Against all odds, an Abbott and a Newman, Audra drips sarcasm – but welcomes the ceasefire. After the ‘star-crossed lovers’ go to enjoy their breakfast, Nate asks Audra ‘what the hell was that about?’
Nate wants to know why Audra’s being absurdly nice to a guy she hates. It’s no coincidence that Victor’s funding your company, that puts you in competition with Kyle, who happens to be dating his granddaughter. Why are you pretending to get along with him all of a sudden? What’s the end game?
Now seated, Kyle’s surprised that Claire brought up Victor backing Audra (who seemed ‘thrown’) Why does it bother you? And why were you being so nice to her? Listing several complaints (that come across as jealousy) Claire does NOT like his plan to trap Audra.
The two of you in lockstep, ganging up on me – why am I under attack for coming to tell you that your company is safe. This is about your shady/ruthless boss, Devon feels Amanda’s not being upfront. Of all people, why did Dumas hire/send you. Abby goes back to the word ‘protect’. Who IS this guy and what connection does he have to us? Devon wants to know.
That was interesting, Damian returns to tell Lily that Dumas doesn’t want/need him to spy at Winters. She needs time to think – while he needs to know whether he still has a job (if he’s of no use to her)
Dumas’ identity is ‘classified’, Amanda knows he won’t meet with Devon and Lily. If there’s nothing to worry about, he can tell us directly. My word isn’t enough for you – I was never enough for you, Amanda pouts. Devon wonders if Dumas mislead her – thinking we’d trust you. But you don’t, she states the obvious.
Back at the club, Lily reassures Damian that his job offer stands. He knows she’s leery of him but cares. Holden’s been the closest Damian’s had to a brother so wants to make sure he’s not affected by his decisions. Lily again worries about Damian pissing off such a powerful man – why would you take that chance?
Claire doesn’t have a ‘soft spot’ for Audra but doesn’t like Kyle playing games with her. Victor’s using her as a tool, Kyle must stop whatever she and Victor have planned (for Jabot and ‘us’) She really gets under your skin, Claire can see.
You’ve never been one to back down from a fight, Nate knows Audra and Kyle are enemies. He questions her going into business with Victor – he’s only sent you one instalment – you’ll be in competition with Jabot. Something does’t add up.
Damian’s not worried about going against Dumas’ wishes – there was always something off about him hiring me (and being so ‘mysterious’) He wants a new start with an above-board company, new friends, family, in a new city. Lily means something to him – he wants to get to know her better.
Amanda’s insulted by the suggestion that Dumas lied to her – she’s not there to screw Devon and Abby over. If he admires us so much why wouldn’t he meet with me and Lily? Set the meeting – Devon won’t take no for an answer.
Kyle’s been a danger to me in the past – he got me fired – Audra needs to stay one step ahead to pull this off. Pull what off? Nate asks.
Claire disagrees that she’s ‘reading too much into this’. You want revenge. There’s a clear power play between you and Audra, Claire warns Kyle that it’ll explode.
Is this part of some larger tactical manouver? Nate asks.
… If it is, this won’t end well, Claire warns.
Nate wants the whole truth – tell me what’s really going on.
