In the park with his Dad and Claire, Harrison brainstorms birthday presents for his GiGi – a microscope or cotton candy animal (so Kyle will have to buy a cotton candy machine) Since your Dad’s paying, Claire thinks they should go bigger.

Wheeling her luggage in, Ashley looks over the new place. Whaddaya think? Jack asks. It’s worse than I thought it would be – what the hell was Diane thinking!?!? Just kidding – Diane did a fabulous job. Appearing on the staircase, Diane smiles.

Summoned by an urgent text, Daniel meets his Mom at CL’s. Informed that she’s going to DC (with Amanda) to meet Dumas, he quickly realizes that Dumas doesn’t know about this meeting. Phyllis will be presenting him with an opportunity that will benefit everyone – including Daniel.

After some talk about buying Nikki a horse, Claire thinks something special and close to the heart would be more meaningful. When he mentions ‘the witch’ (Jordan) Claire sometimes thinks about her but focuses on the people she loves instead. Back to thinking about birthday gifts, Harrison closes his eyes and puts his fingers on his temples.

Your approval means a lot, Diane tells Ashley (who thanks her for giving their home the respect it deserves) Daddy would have liked it too. Thank you for saying that, Diane’s smile fades when Ashley asks for a private word with her brother.

Phyllis is sure that Dumas will respect her initiative. The idea she’ll pitch is that she and Daniel run Chancellor after he takes it away from Victor and Nikki. Daniel laughs – oh, you’re not kidding? I think you’ve finally gone off the deep end.

I’ve got it! Harrison remembers DiDi crying when she saw his diorama. He’ll know his GiGi likes his gift if it makes her cry. He’ll tell them everything if his Dad says ‘yes’ to getting him a horse.

First of all – rude. Second of all – Phyllis knows that every incredible idea has been called crazy. Just for fun – say Dumas wants Chancellor and gets it from Victor – then he’ll just hand it over to you? Daniel’s sceptical – a stranger he’s never met? You’re hurting my feelings and making me mad, Phyllis has the talent, brains and energy to run Chancellor (implying Nikki doesn’t) What about Summer? She’s part of the family you want to steal the company from, Daniel points out. Phyllis doesn’t want to OWN the company, just run it. Count me out, Daniel wants no part of it.

Welcome home Ashley, Diane leaves Jack to praise his sister (who insists she meant every word she said to Diane) Something’s off with you – what’s wrong (Jack knows this talk isn’t about Jabot)
