Nick’s brought his Mom a box full of memories that he and his sister have jotted down on small index cards; the time she taught Vikki how to curl her eyelashes; taking Cassie to a horse fair. If you’re ever having a rough day, just dig into this box for a reminder of how much we love you, Nick then tries (but fails) to get the keys to his Mom’s new car.
Vikki sits in the bar stool next to Kyle to chat about Pietro being ‘a lot’. How are you feeling about this plan to change Claire’s grandfather’s mind? Are you set on what you’ll do? Kyle’s locked and loaded. Cole and I are rooting for you, so is my Mom, Vikki encourages him.
Arriving at the party, Abby chides Devon – let’s forget about Damian and enjoy ourselves. Lily enjoys his company and seems happy. He’s as mysterious as his boss, Devon worries Damian’s using his sister.
Back at Society, Lily asks how Amy is and offers to help Damian find a house in GC. Damian wants to know more about her (since she knows so much about him) We were both raised by men not our biological fathers. What about past relationships? Damian asks.
Ashley catches up with Abby and Devon. Traci’s having a rough time, Jack updates. When the Baldwins come over to chat, Ashley’s surprised to hear that Mike quit working for Victor.
Still at the ranch, Nikki goes through her ‘wonderful’ memories – she could read them all night long. Nick pulls out black envelopes left at the guard house (for the three of them and Vikki) Aristotle Dumas has invited us to a party in Nice. Huh, Victor frowns.
Damian wants to hear more about the fascinating Lily’s love life. OK, he’ll go first but it’ll be short and disappointing.
Mike’s still a bit conflicted but knows he made the right decision. When Lauren talks about their trip to Italy, Diane and Jack share their plans to go to Europe. We should meet up there – maybe at the party we’re all invited too.
After Nick leaves to pick up Sharon, Nikki sighs – if tonight ended right now, it would have been perfect. The best is yet to come, Victor sends her ahead to check out her car while he lingers to frown at the invitation some more.
Lily’s been in love but it never worked out. I was a bit of a wild child. She was young when she married Daniel – they tried again recently. Cane is the father of her twins – we got married twice and were very much in love. In the end, he broke my heart. Damian’s never been in love – he focused on his career. If love is meant to happen, it will.
There she is, the woman of the hour! Mike bellows. All applaud as Nikki walks in with Victor. Sharon thanks Nick for inviting her. Dinner with him the other night helped her feel ‘grounded’. Ester joins them to clink glasses.
Ashley tells Victor she wouldn’t have missed it. It’ll be a night to remember, he promises. All hold their glasses aloft as Vikki toasts her Mom – you love us completely and unconditionally and fight for what and who you believe in. May this coming year bring you as much joy as you’ve given us. Cheers!
Next Week: Nate (with Audra) keeps telling Amy to keep a positive attitude. She’s finally listening and has come to a decision about her future…. Save a dance for me? Kyle asks Claire. There’s one more move he wants to make to try sway Victor …. You and our company mean everything to me, Billy tells Sally. Yet you’re willing to leave the country at such a crucial time for Abbott Communications? she’s alarmed. Billy needs to find out what this guy has planned for his family.
My Thoughts: Why wouldn’t Nikki’s birthday party have been held at Top of the Towers (or has the restaurant been vacant since Noah abandoned his nightclub?) Speaking of, since Noah’s nightclub is so successful, why couldn’t he fly home for his grandmother’s birthday party? …. Poor Damian, his relationship history is ‘short and disappointing’ (that’s what SHE said) … Maybe Nikki will play piano in the jazz lounge (is there even one in their new ranch?) …. Nikki’s guest list isn’t very impressive. Now with the Baldwins on his shit-list, half the attendees are Victor’s enemies, and the other half are frenemies. And how on earth did Ester get an invite?… I’ve Googled Nikki’s car so you don’t have to. I’d pay good money to see her get in and out of it. She couldn’t even get off the couch to go look at it. Apparently, there were only 36 of these particular models made, between 1962-64…. Aristotle Dumas is throwing his party on a Friday the 13th. That doesn’t bode well. Weird that the reclusive billionaire has invited a bunch of strangers to his home. But are they really strangers? Doubtful – I’m guessing he’s Cane Ashby or Tucker or Colin (with Jill)
