As the doctor examines Cole, Vikki and Claire list off his symptoms. It could be pneumonia, the doctor alarms them all by saying. X-rays are needed.
Damian wants to work things out. Holden refuses – and when Amy arrives (with Audra) to ask if everything’s alright, he snaps ‘ask him’ and marches out. Audra excuses herself to take a call from Victor – who demands she get to the ranch NOW. After she obediently sashays out, Damian tells his Mom that he doesn’t blame Holden – he’s the only person I completely trusted in LA. Amy takes his hand and offers support.
Back in the park, Nate’s not surprised that Lily insists on going to see Dumas in France – and, like Adam, he wonders why he and Audra didn’t ‘make the cut’. No, Lily will never see what her cousin does in Audra. Get a selfie with Dumas – Nate’s dying to know who he is.
Vikki’s going to the hospital with Cole – she’ll keep Claire posted. I need you to get better, I love you, Claire says inches from her Dad’s face. As lousy as Cole feels, he considers himself the luckiest man right now.
What’s the urgency? a visibly annoyed Audra is at the ranch to ask Victor. What part of our agreement don’t you understand? Victor wants ‘it’ done before he returns from France.
Claire’s summoned Kyle to the tackhouse to update that her Dad’s at the hospital; it might be pneumonia. Cole’s a strong guy, he’ll pull through, Kyle consoles with a hug.
Nate hopes Lily meets someone in the French Riviera, if she hasn’t already. There’s nothing happening between me and Damian, she rolls her eyes, asks about hiring Holden – then it’s back to the tired subject of Dumas.
Audra comments that every top player in town will soon be in France. Get Kyle and I invited to this soiree and I’ll take care of the rest. Have a good day, Victor sends her off.
Audra meets Holden on the patio. He sounded so desperate that she’s taking pity on him. What’s so urgent? He could really use a friend right now. She’s sorry he’s been fired. I was fired by who I thought was my best friend, Holden’s on the verge of tears – you’re the only person who’s really gotten to know me. You can leave if you want, a slight smile tugs at his mouth as Audra takes his hand across the table.
Amy again asks her ‘darling son’ what she can do to help. The answers to questions like this come from the heart. You’re a good man – you know what to do.
One way or another, Lily will look Dumas in the eye and find out what he wants. Failure’s not an option, she tells Nate.
Claire can’t fix her Dad’s suffering any more than she can give him back the time he missed with me. How did it go with my grandfather? Fine, Kyle will fill her in later – focus on your Dad ~hug~
Ominous music plays as a scowling Victor contemplates THE invitation.
My Thoughts: Pretty irresponsible of Vikki to bring Cole into the home she shares with her two young children. It’s not like we didn’t just endure a once-in-a-generation epidemic or anything. I hereby rename the ‘tackhouse’ the ‘hackhouse’. When the attending doctor suspected pneumonia (which isn’t exactly contagious but can be spread by droplets in the air from coughing) neither Vikki nor Claire thought to ask about if they might catch it. Things could only get worse if Harrison got sick. Looks like Claire may be mourning the death of her father when Audra manages to lure Kyle into a compromising ‘position’ … I wish Lily and Damian would become a couple already – perhaps then they’ll coordinate their outfits a bit better. Did I just see Victor pick up his phone and answer it without hitting the ‘accept’ button? And Kyle basically walks through the front door as Victor says – send him in Is there a guard posted right outside the front door? Or did Kyle teleport himself from the guardhouse? If Victor’s going to be sitting in a chair facing the front door all day, you’d think he’d have purchased a nice recliner.
