What did you do? One night, Mariah couldn’t sleep (thinking about Ian) so had some drinks. You got drunk? Tessa guesses.
Daniel doesn’t think his Mom should hinge her life on a party she wasn’t invited to. Victor doesn’t even know who he is – he’s revealing himself to everyone, Phyllis would be an idiot not to go. I’ll make him love me; he’ll beg to work with me, she’s sure.
Nick reminds Sharon that she talked him into going to London. She’d love to go to France but parenthood calls. Nick understands – if things change, the offer stands. Unless Mariah has a breakthrough, Sharon can’t go.
Tessa won’t judge Mariah for getting drunk. You made a mistake – don’t beat yourself up over it. Mariah should have known better; she felt empty and heartbroken. Tears stream down her face as she flashes back to drinking/flirting with the creepy old man.
You’ll thank me for doing this – I WILL be the biggest deal in town, even if it takes years, Phyllis vows. You are relentless, Daniel concedes. Like a shark, the comparison is growing on her. After they exchange I love you’s, Daniel runs into Nick and Sharon at the revolving door – he hopes Nick can talk his Mother out of something that’s going to end poorly. Joining Phyllis at the bar, Sharon shows her a photo of Nikki’s new car and surprises her by saying that she went to the party as Nick’s guest. Nick’s asked his Mom to ‘bequeath’ it to him (since he’s her favourite).
Hey Mariah – are you alright? Daniel asks (at CL’s) Mariah wishes everyone would stop asking her that! She apologizes. He understands – Tessa mentioned she’d been upset. She shouldn’t have! Mariah snaps again. When Tessa comes in, Mariah tells her to quit breathing down her neck – just leave me alone! Tessa and Daniel are left to look at one another in shock.
Phyllis jokes about needing a referee between the Newmans and Abbotts (at Aristotle’s party) and wonders why the Winters were invited. Nick will tell you all the juicy details when he gets back, Sharon’s sure. No need – Aristotle invited me, Phyllis surprises them.
