Damian’s summoned Lily to CL’s to give her a present – a gesture, not a romantic one – a friendly one.

Audra joins Victor at the club to say that she’s put his first instalment to good use – a second instalment would be helpful. That’ll only come after you make progress with Kyle, Victor asserts. He’s perfectly positioned for a fall, Audra’s confident that if she can get Kyle away from Claire, she’ll be able to ‘close the deal’. Victor tells her to pack (as Holden eavesdrops)

At home, Jack and Kyle praise one another for how well they’re doing at Jabot. While his parents are at Aristotle’s place in Nice, Kyle will stay behind to run the ‘day to day’.

Lily hopes this gift isn’t ‘lavish’. Damian appreciates her standing by him, even though he couldn’t be her spy. She respects people who deserve it – now, where’s my gift? Opening the box he slides across the table, Lily seems deeply affected by what’s inside.

Having gotten Audra on the guest list to Dumas’ party, Victor expects results – time is of the essence – thanks for coming by. When Audra sashays off, Holden catches her at the revolving door – congrats on your invite to France. You’re up to something with Kyle, on Victor’s orders, that isn’t above board – he finds that fascinating.

Kyle’s fine making sure things run smoothly at Jabot; he’s not exactly eager to spend time with Victor. Jack wouldn’t mind trading places with his son – then wonders what deal he made with the devil. On cue, a call from Claire interrupts. Whoa – tell me what’s going on, Kyle says.

Still in front of the revolving door, Audra tells Holden to mind his own business. He wants to know what plan of Victor’s she’s enacting. He worries about Audra – it wouldn’t be the first time you got into a situation that came back to haunt you. Audra has everything under control. What does Victor expect you to do with regards to Kyle? he persists (every time his name’s mentioned, Victor looks over)

You’re doing the best you can – take care of yourself – love you too, Kyle ends his call with Claire to update his Dad that Cole’s being transferred to a hospital in Chicago to treat his pneumonia. Please tell her we’re rooting for her Dad, Jack says as Diane arrives with shopping bags (new clothes to wear at Aristotle’s gathering) – but, considering the guest list, wardrobe might be the least of their problems.

Damian’s gift is a signed copy of a book – The History of Jazz. He’s sorry if he overstepped – who am I to pretend I know anything about your Dad? This was one of my father’s favourites. Neil owned a copy but they couldn’t find it. It’s a wonderful gift, she tears up.
