In the South of France, Aristotle’s assistant, Carter, has brought the Newman foursome to the entrance of an outdoor maze. At the centre, they’ll find lunch and an itinerary of the days events. Mr Dumas will greet his guests once they all arrive.
Now it’s the Abbott threesome’s turn to admire the fancy train and wonder what Dumas has in store for them.
Victor pauses to ask Carter where Billy and Sally are. Cue faint, nearby giggling. They seem to have gotten a head start (on getting lost and agreeing this will be ‘an interesting few days’)
Wow – it’s so whimsical, Sally gushes when she and Billy find a table nicely set for ten. Carter said we had to wait before eating, she stops Billy from digging in. He’ll take a kiss instead.
Diane, Jack and Kyle continue to speculate on why Dumas summoned the three families and what ‘Wait and hope’ means.
Nikki’s shoes aren’t made for trekking through a maze. Sitting on a bench, she and Victor aren’t amused. Sharon’s enjoying herself and Nick reminds that they came for answers.
How does Jack know they aren’t the first to arrive? He recognizes Nikki’s perfume. Joining them, Audra says ‘no’, she doesn’t want to travel in her ‘luxurious sleeping car’. We’re both scions of the cosmetics industry – we must make our entry together to kick off our battle royale, she thinks this will be so much fun.
Strolling through the maze, Nick and Sharon reminisce about once losing Faith in a hay maze. You’re such a good father and a good man, Sharon’s compliment ‘means a lot’ to Nick.
Billy snaps some photos – this insider story on Dumas’ property will be a good way to launch Abbott Communications. They kiss to distract Billy from the food.
Victor thinks this is ridiculous – no, we won’t ‘blindly’ jump through Dumas’ hoops. So, you DO have a plan, though Nikki isn’t able to pry it out of him.
This is going to be a long ride, Diane quietly comments as Audra babbles. She thought Kyle would stay home to hold his girlfriend’s hand because her Dad has a cold. He’s in the hospital with pneumonia – show some compassion, Diane scolds. When Audra goes back to talking about their perfume war, Kyle’s up for the challenge.
Sharon and Nick seem to be doing laps around the maze until they smell food – let’s follow our noses. Victor and Nikki follow with their negative attitudes. This is a farce designed to wear us down, he grumbles.
