Cane made peace with his father. That warms the cockles of Victor’s heart. So, Collin was privy to your climb to power. He assumes Arabesque was founded on illegality and that people are after Cane – hence the alias.
Things were civil between Lily and Cane until he crossed the line. She flashes back to being with Cane in the LA bistro (after helping Mattie through her crisis at school) Cane told her that he reconnected with Collin – he’s helping me with business dealings. Lily won’t forgive him for stealing from Devon. He’s sick and wants to make the most of the time he has left. Something felt off to Lily. It felt forced – the more Cane spoke, Lily felt more uncomfortable – she knew it would get worse.
Phyllis tells Nick that she still has a mission – her plan continues. I’m OK with Cane. Huh, Nick doesn’t remember them being super tight.
Diane, Jack, Billy and Sally wonder what Cane is up to. Jack suspects that Chancellor is just the tip of the iceberg.
Audra wants to hear what else Kyle knows about Cane. She’s happy with Nate so doesn’t care if he’s single. Don’t get all jealous on me.
Cane’s a billionaire with an axe grind; Billy has no idea if Jill knows; he hasn’t talked to her lately. He does remember Katherine’s will – she wanted Cane to run Chancellor. Phyllis joins them – did I hear the name Chancellor?
Cane isn’t like Collin, the man Lily married was loving and protective. He did put you first, Devon agrees. You got a divorce for a reason, Damian points out. Lily relays that the one time she and Cane talked alone, it didn’t go well. Flashback to LA again – Lily doesn’t want the kids around Collin; he planned to have them kidnapped as babies, and she can’t forgive him for stealing from Devon. Cane wants the kids to know his father – everybody deserves forgiveness. Lily told him that she didn’t want to see him again. All this time he’s been building an empire as Aristotle Dumas – how is that possible?
Cane tells Victor that Collin wanted to make things right. He’d saved money over the years; sold his property and invested in crypto.
Nick tells Sharon that Phyllis came to get a job from Dumas. Now that Cane’s got everyone’s attention, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep it. Phyllis will fit right in with all this drama and deception, Sharon comments.
Jack thinks it a good that things didn’t progress between Billy and Dumas. When Sally agrees that Billy can now focus on Abbott Communications, Phyllis quips that every day can be bring your boo to work day. Sally and Billy excuse themselves and leave Phyllis to cryptically agree with Jack’s wise words (that they can’t rule anything out regarding Chancellor)
Sally tells Billy that Jack’s right – we should go home and launch Abbott Communications with this huge story (before anyone beats them to it)
Back on the train, Damian complains about Cane stringing him along; did he every mention the book Count of Monte Cristo? No, but Charlie loved the book – that makes it even sicker to Lily. Why is Cane revealing himself now? And why use a fake name if you have nothing to hide?
Victor asks why he’s been summoned here. Cane’s ready to give up the businesses under Dumas – that’s where you come in.
Forget him, Damian tells Lily – let’s head back to GC. Devon’s good with getting the hell out too. Lily can’t leave – Cane’s coming back to GC. Will he tell the kids? She must know everything there is to know – for the sake of the twins.
Jack and Diane can tell us anything we missed, Sally persists. Even if we don’t run the story, let’s go. Billy vows to find out what Cane’s up to.
Nikki believes Victor didn’t expose Cane because he wanted him to know that he has the upper hand. Does he though? Jack’s sceptical. Do you really think Cane can get the better of Victor? Nikki clearly doesn’t but Jack wouldn’t rule it out just yet; noting that Cane’s come a long way in the last six years.
Mortality hits when you lose your father, Cane’s only making this offer to Victor. He needs a new direction, a clean slat – so wants to trade a big chunk of his fortune – for control of Chancellor. Victor laughs – ain’t gonna happen.
