Nate’s become close to a friend diagnosed with cancer; the mother of his half brother. It’s been a life altering experience. He misses medicine but is happy working with his family and looks forward to working with his brother. We were a good team at Newman, Vikki wonders if Nate harbours some resentment about the way things ended.
The guy’s still a billionaire, Audra thinks he should still choose between their fragrances. Go back to the drawing board. The Newmans and Abbotts agree this trip is a bust, Kyle adds – they never agree on anything. Audra doesn’t want to miss out on the special evening in store for them. You’re staying, right? she asks Sally (who’s annoyed that she and Billy put their launch on hold and that the big reveal was a guy half the guests already knew) Audra still thinks Cane can be an asset. Billy joins them to say that he’s with Audra – he wants to stick around.
Yes, Nate’s forgiven Vikki for doubting his intentions towards her father. She carries out a lot of regret – we’ve been friends a long time. Nate knows Cole to be a good man. She worries about Claire – with Kyle away and out of contact, she could use someone to be her rock right now.
Holden was taking his nightly run – a coping mechanism. He followed Claire to make sure she’s OK. She’s glad he did. I’m fine, you can go back to your run; Vespers on me next time. When he suggests now, she agrees.
Sally doesn’t blame Billy for being curious but for all we know the special evening could just be a dinner/dance. Audra still thinks this guy might be beneficial to her company. You and Cane don’t seem particularly close, Sally points out. As the king of second chances, Billy has to credit Cane with one helluva return. Also, we might not have a choice – Carter says the storm wiped out the train tracks and road.
While Holden goes to Society’s bar for drinks, Claire gets a call from her Mom, who’s happy to hear that she ran into a friend (she did as well) After I love you’s, Nate brings Vikki something. She wonders who came to Claire’s rescue. Just what the doctor ordered, Holden’s back with the Vespers – and quickly realizes he said the wrong thing. Claire confides it’s not her health but her Dad’s. Both feel lucky to have run into each other tonight.
Sally feels like she’s being held hostage, unable to escape. With this view? Billy laughs – we’re in paradise ~kiss~ Last one in goes for Mimosa’s! After they go for a swim, Kyle and Audra are left to grumble about being ‘trapped’ without phones or internet. He needs to hear Claire’s voice. Audra has something to cheer him up – put some of this Jabot Birthday Suit sunscreen on my back.
Holden confides that his world’s been turned upside down – he lost his job and needs a new gig, but where? Wanting to stay in GC and stick with real estate, he’s reached out to a new company. They’ll put out positive vibes for each other. Claire’s grateful he found her tonight. We found each other, he clinks her glass.
You know what I needed and remembered my favourite cake, Vikki appreciates Nate’s thoughtfulness and is happy he doesn’t hold a grudge. Victor does, they chuckle. Nate only wants the best for the Newmans. Vikki doesn’t trust Audra, even though Nate claims that she’s changed from the person she was under Tucker’s influence.
Putting sunscreen on Audra’s shoulders, Kyle doesn’t think they should involve Cane in their plan. Both agree that they need a new strategy/stunt (since they’re stuck her anyway) A little more on my neck please, Audra moves her mane out of the way. See what I see? Billy and Sally come out of the pool to watch what looks like trouble. Indeed, both Kyle and Audra appear to be enjoying a sensual massage, not one business associate putting sunscreen on another.
