Despite it being another sunny day in Nice, Victor’s still unable to get a signal on his phone. We’re being held captive in a very high-end prison courtesy, of Cane – Nikki complains.
Over giant croissants and coffee at the 24/7 outdoor maze-cafe, Amanda calls Phyllis the most narcissistic, un-self aware person she’s ever met (for making it sound like she planned a power move behind her boss’s back) Phyllis apologizes – then confides that she overheard a conversation – someone’s lying and we both know who it is.
Picking at their breakfast, Victor’s just told Nikki that he’s thinking of joining forces with Cane – when Cane returns to the train. ‘Perfect timing’, Victor smiles.
We missed you last night, Victor and Nikki are exceedingly polite to their ‘consumate host’. Cane has good news – the roads are being worked on, anyone who wants to leave should be able to do so next week. The Newmans no longer want to leave – it’s wonderful here.
Having eavesdropped on Amanda and Carter, Phyllis knows that Cane just got back from GC last night. He hasn’t left, you’re delusional, Amanda lies. Phyllis knows Cane’s plan isn’t to do business with anyone here – he wants to do business AGAINST them.
Not believing that Cane’s given up on Chancellor, Victor suspects his motivation is Lily – but she’s happy at Winters and Chancellor will never be yours, he repeats twice – then has a proposition for Cane. Much to Nikki’s dismay, he wants to go for a walk to discuss it.
When Nick joins his Mom (on the train) to gripe about being unable to check on Christian or Cole, Nikki tells him that Victor and Cane went for a walk – he wants to form an alliance.
Wandering through the maze, Victor expresses doubt that they’re really stuck there for a week. When Cane offers to show him the ‘work site’ (as proof) Victor declines, then implies that he’s a con artist like his father.
Reminding that she went out on a limb to get Phyllis invited here, Amanda doesn’t appreciate being blackmailed (if she doesn’t get answers, Phyllis will have ‘no choice’ but to tell everyone that Cane lied and was able to leave – to go to GC)
Back on the train, Nikki tells Nick that Cane hasn’t given up on Chancellor. She hopes Victor isn’t underestimating Cane – we have too much to lose.
