Danny doesn’t want to talk about Phyllis – focus on me – or ‘us’. He has a few things to do today but they agree to dinner and dancing later.

Saying he appreciates Tessa’s kindness and patience, Daniel leaves her to tell Mariah that it’s good to see her. Aria needs you; she has questions I don’t have the answers to.

Vikki and Claire pick out an urn from the catalogue a lady brings over. Security calls to say that someone’s coming over to pay their respects.

Daniel joins his Dad and Chris at Society – he wants to help a friend who’s going through some stuff but knows first hand that it’s sometimes best to back off and let someone find their own way.

Mariah feels she’s making the right decision for all of them. Tessa’s frustrated that she’s losing the woman she loves. When she takes a step forward, Mariah takes one backwards. Maybe we should make the separation permanent, Tessa decides.

You don’t mean that do you? Mariah could be with Tessa and Aria if she could (but still refuses to explain) Ready to give up, Tessa can’t promise she’ll be here when Mariah comes back.

I’m always here for you and Lucy, Chris tells Daniel before leaving Danny to confide to his son that tonight’s the night – he’s going to ask the love of his life to marry him.

Knowing that most of the family and Kyle are out of the country, Nate stops by the tackhouse to offer his condolences. When Claire tells him that she’s not sure she believes in heaven, he tells her to talk to her Dad’s spirit – he’ll hear you.

Without further word, Tessa leaves (and keeps walking when Mariah calls out her name) Sitting on the park bench, Mariah flashes back to suffocating the old man with a cushion.

Nate has more supportive words and a hug for Vikki. Both are glad they’re still friends. Vikki’s left to pick up a framed photo of Cole and pray out loud.

In the park, Claire looks up at the sky with scepticism to deliver the first prayer she’s ever said. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you in the end. I’m going to miss you every second of every day.

Of course Daniel wants to hear his Dad gush about Christine some more. We make each other so damn happy, Danny beams. It’s tough to be around the two of you, Daniel jokes. He hopes to find love and happiness again some day (then looks up as Tessa arrives at Society)
