Neither Cane nor Amanda believe the gap in the security footage was a digital glitch. Cane’s sure it’s Nick. Amanda’s sceptical that Nick found out about the surveillance room, gained access and bypassed the firewall. Or – I’m wrong, Cane concedes.

Going through the trunk, Sharon and Nick find wine and a photo album – must be from the family who once lived here. A photo provides more info – the D’Leon family – 1924. They stopped making wine years ago. Maybe the maze is sitting on what used to be the vineyard.

Victor doesn’t give a damn about Kyle’s ill-fated relationship with Claire. Laying out the failed plan, Kyle’s done proving myself to Victor; Claire and I will move in together as soon as we get home – there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Watch me, Victor replies menacingly.

Victor leaves Kyle to hope that Nikki had no part in Victor’s plan. It would break Claire’s heart. Nikki finds it despicable. IF it’s true, she had no part in it.

In another section of the maze, Victor tells Chance that Cane’s put Nick and Sharon under house arrest. No, he can’t do that – but Chance doubts Cane will listen to reason – he’s been doing his own thing all along. If you run into him, tell him not to play with me – I’ll get him, Victor warns.

Why would anyone bulldoze a vineyard to create a maze? It must have cost a fortune. Nick and Sharon also wonder how Cane amassed a fortune in such a short period of time. He’s been gone from Lily’s good influence and under Collin’s bad influence for years. God only knows what that turned Cane into.

Phyllis doesn’t believe Cane planned a murder then brought them all here, including a seasoned detective. He knew Chance wouldn’t be able to do a real investigation with no back up, Lily believes Cane killed Damian out of jealousy. Phyllis thinks she needs to calm down – your emotions are clouding your intelligence and judgement.

Sure that Nick’s innocent, Amanda wants Cane to let him and Sharon go. I was against this but you’re telling people you did it on my advice, she’s annoyed. Release them before it blows up in your face. Cane will take it into consideration but needs more time to get to the bottom of things. I need to speak to Chance again – there’s a way I can make this work out in my favour.

Why else would Audra, in a committed relationship, make a move on me? It doesn’t take much to put the pieces together, Kyle appears to be getting through to Nikki.

Chance has new evidence. After talking to the groundskeeper, Carter’s timeline doesn’t add up. Victor wouldn’t be surprised if he’s covering for Cane.

Phyllis doesn’t appreciate being accused of callous indifference about a man’s death. Then stop being so callous and indifferent, Lily quips. Observing that Audra doesn’t seem rattled that there’s a killer on the loose, Phyllis asks Lily to set her suspicions aside – there’s no way Cane’s capable of this kind of violence. Even Audra agrees that makes sense.

Looking for clues as they go through the trunk, Sharon finds a really old bottle of champagne. That gives Nick an idea.

Taking the wire off the top of the champagne bottle, Nick gives it to Sharon to pick the lock (like she did in the clinic, with Phyllis)

Phyllis asks Lily to take a step back – do you really think the father of your children is capable of murder? Be objective.

Chance explains that Carter claims he didn’t know about the murder until I pulled him out of bed. But, the groundskeeper is sure Carter was out and about and knew about it. Victor relays Nikki describing Carter as robotic – maybe he was programmed to kill for his boss.

Amanda wants to know What Cane means by ‘maybe this can work in my favour’. He DID lock Nick up for his own safety but NOW it might be worth a try using it as leverage (against Victor/Chancellor)
