Now nighttime, Audra runs into Kyle in the maze – she wants to clear the air. Kyle tells Audra that she failed – you’ll no longer have a company; the only smell coming from you is the scent of agonizing defeat.
In their sleeping car, Jack takes a break from the book he’s reading (to kill time) to chat with Diane about Victor using Audra against Kyle, what’s really bothering Jack is Billy.
In the dining area of the maze, Billy’s impressed by what Cane’s accomplished. Hearing that Cane has no ill will towards him, Billy grins – ‘glad to hear it, brother’.
On the train, Carter tells Detective Chancellor what the chef is preparing for dinner. Chance has some questions, about the murder, not the menu.
After ‘bad-ass’ Sharon manages to pick the lock, Nick opens the door – and finds it blocked by the security guard. I’ve been meaning to talk to you, Nick suddenly tackles him.
When Audra grabs his wrist, Kyle recoils – don’t touch me. Audra sticks with her story that she only turned to Kyle because she was scared. She’s not attracted to the condescending and smug Kyle. Nate’s brother is dead! How would you feel if Claire lost a loved one she’d just found? Can’t we pretend none of this happened?
It’s been a while since someone called me ‘brother’, Cane comments. We aren’t exactly blood – but we share a bond, Billy schmoozes. Cane invited Jill – she sent her regrets. He assumes Billy’s salty about what happened at Chancellor. Back to business, Billy asks Cane if he’s interested in buying Jack out (and implies that Cane’s more of a brother to him) You reached out because you saw opportunity in my venture, Billy reminds.
As Nick and the security guard fight. Sharon screams. Had enough? the guard taunts Nick when he goes down. No, Nick hits him over the head with a bottle.
Carter told Chance everything he knows about that night; a groundskeeper roused me with news of foul play. He said that you approached him, Chance explains. He’s mistaken, Carter claims. Is he? Or are you trying to protect Cane? Victor appears to ask.
We all saw it coming – Billy’s obsessed with taking Chancellor back. The supportive Diane knows how much Jack’s helped his brother. You gave him a blank check. Helping someone who doesn’t want help is a fools mission, Jack thinks it might be best for everyone if he sells his stake in Abbott Communications. Maybe Billy needs someone else.
Billy’s sent Cane the numbers for Abbott Communications. Cane likes Billy’s confidence but now’s not a good time – a man died in my arms. Mentioning the Newman’s animosity, Billy knows Cane will need an ally in GC. I know what you want and can help you get it.
Kyle blasts Audra – you sold your soul and were willing to give away your body. I was never going to sleep with you, Audra threatens to scratch his eyes out. Kyle threatens to tell everyone what she tried to do. He already told Victor (and Nikki) How did he react? He’s seething and will direct his anger at YOU – it’s the end of Vibrante and your career, Kyle declares.
Carter has duties to attend to. He’s worked for Mr Dumas for two years – our relationship can’t be measured in dollars and cents. Chance casually drops an accusation – you’d do anything to cover for your boss, including framing an innocent man.
