Calling Nate, Lily asks if he’s alone. On Vikki’s front porch he learns that Damian was killed.

My brother’s dead? Lily’s so sorry. It wasn’t an accident – he was murdered by Cane’s assistant, out of some distorted loyalty. He thought Damian was a romantic threat. Why would he think that? Nate now learns that she and Damian were romantically involved. Weeping, Lily wanted Nate to hear it from her before he or Amy heard it on the news. Get home safe, Nate hangs up and sits to absorb the news.

Kyle tells his parents that Cole passed away. Poor Claire, Jack and Diane are sorry. Kyle blames himself for coming – how could I think petty revenge was more important (than being there for Claire)?

Billy and Phyllis chat quietly. Yes, she’s intrigued but you’ve screwed me over twice. Why should I trust you? Jack mosey’s over – you two have your heads together – what are you talking about?

A shell-shocked Nate rejoins Vikki and Claire to tell them that his brother was killed at the chateau. I thought we had a lifetime to get to know each other, now, he’s gone. Vikki gives him a wordless hug.

Come in, Lily responds to a knock at her door. It’s a solemn looking Cane.

Cane came to say goodbye before the train left – is there anything I can do? You’ve done enough! Lily just had to tell Nate that his brother’s dead. Cane says he’s sorry again – these deaths will haunt him forever. Good – have you thought about what Chance’s death will do to Jill and Nina!? Cane will try to make things right. OMG, are you still planning on coming back to GC!? Would that be the worst thing? Cane asks.

Neither Jack nor Billy want to argue – both agree things need to change when they get back to GC. Phyllis wonders what that means? At the bar, Audra and Sally have a lot to catch up on – but not here.

Coming back to GC would be a huge mistake. Lily warns – too much has happened. Cole wants to make amends – and he’s set things in motion he can’t undo. You’ve lied, played games and manipulated, how will you explain your actions to the kids!? That you built an empire with your ruthless father!? One day, Cane hopes to tell Lily about the time he spent with his father; how he changed, ‘and how that changed me’. It hasn’t changed you for the better, Lily won’t be convinced otherwise.

Vikki and Claire won’t hear of Nate leaving. He confesses that he dreads going home to break this news to Amy. Damian gave her hope for the future – she’ll be shattered. He’s given his share of bad news to families but this is different – this is my family.

What ‘major changes’ will be happening? Phyllis wants the facts, no run around, no charm. Billy doesn’t want to jinx anything. We’ll talk about the future when we get home.

Kyle lashes out at Audra – Claire’s father died and I’ve been stuck here (he blames her) Your scheme failed! Has Victor lowered the hammer on you yet? Victor doesn’t let failure go unpunished – it’s only a matter of time, he hisses.

We’ve shared too much love, Cane refuses to believe it all evaporated. Lily’s been clear numerous times – and you only have yourself to blame. Hearing the train whistle, Lily pleads with him not to come back. Nobody wants you there – stay away! she shouts down the hallway.
