Adam’s at the ranch with news; Cane’s been meeting with Billy and Phyllis. Nick can’t bring himself to believe that she’d turn her back on everyone she knows. Victor appears to disagree – Phyllis would sell her firstborn to get what she wants, and that’s the ruthlessness Cane wants.

At Society, Jack does NOT appreciate Cane taking the liberty of ordering him empanadas, nor does he understand why he and Diane were invited to his chateau. Cane wasn’t able to speak to everyone as he intended – this conversation is long overdue.

In the park, Sally ends a call with the event planner handling the Abbott Communications launch when Billy joins her. He’s not sure that warning Jack of Cane’s plans will put a stop to him. Sally hopes Billy doesn’t plan to go against his family by helping Cane.

Nick, Adam and Victor debate Phyllis’ involvement in Cane’s bid to acquire GC’s ‘legacy’ companies. Surely, she wouldn’t go after Jabot (and therefore, Marchetti) When Victor grumbles about Kyle forcing Summer to sell Marchetti to Jabot, Nick and Adam think it’s time to let this ‘crusade’ against Kyle go – and focus on Cane.

Jack wants details of Cane’s plan, starting with Abbott Communications. Cane wonders if Jack’s still interested in selling his stake in the company – or do you want to play hard ball?

Billy’s considering all the options; if Cane does get his hands on Jabot it’s best to have an Abbott at the table; Jack wants me to play along. Sally thinks it’s a bad idea to spy on Cane; three people just lost their lives.

Why would Cane want to invest in an untested company that hasn’t launched? It’s a ‘wise’ investment and Jack will see a ‘healthy’ return. No, we’re NOT ‘practically family’, Jack points out that Cane’s connection to Billy was based on a lie. Furthermore, ordering my lunch was a power move, an effort to gain dominance like you had while holding us hostage in Nice. Cane can see the anger and contempt in Jack’s eyes. You’d rather wrap your hands around my throat than shake my hand on a deal. Jack thinks it would be in Cane’s best interests to leave GC – no one trusts you enough to do business with you.

Billy doesn’t blame Cane for the deaths in France and won’t choose him over his family; Jack wants me on the inside. Sally’s frustrated – she’s ready to launch Abbott Communications NOW, whether she’s driving or in the passenger seat. She doesn’t want an apology – if you’re not going to lead this company, step aside and let me run it.

Given the go ahead by Victor, Adam will publish an expose on Cane across Newman’s media platforms; his web of lies will be trending before the day’s done. Surprised it didn’t leak sooner, Nick approves. Vikki arrives in no mood to discuss business – there’s something she needs to discuss with ‘our father’, in private.

After Nick reluctantly leaves with Adam, a furious Vikki blasts her Dad for siccing ‘that jezebel’ on Kyle (who didn’t want anything to do with her by the way) So what? Victor sees no problem in ‘protecting’ Claire just like he’s always protected Vikki.

Still in the park, Sally’s impatient – we’re sitting on the ‘biggest scoop of the century’. Billy surprises her – you’re right. He’s confident he’ll be running Chancellor – so, ‘go for it’ ~kiss~

Disappointed that Jack’s no longer interested in selling his stake in Abbott Communications, Cane comments that Billy doesn’t see him as a threat (like Jack clearly does) What do you really want? Jack’s not convinced that Cane just wants to grow his empire.

At CL’s, Adam and Nick correctly guess that Vikki’s pissed off about their Dad meddling in Claire’s relationship (as he’s done with all of theirs) When Billy arrives to say he’s glad Nick’s recovered, Adam wastes no questioning why he wants to work with Cane.

Jack lists what Cane already has; two beautiful kids, a luxurious estate, an empire. Enjoy your stature (somewhere else) I’m not going anywhere, Cane knows what he wants and why. Standing, Jack warns him not to go against GC’s powerful families. Thanks for the empanadas but I lost my appetite, he leaves.
