Billy doesn’t care if everyone knows he’s been meeting with Cane – but why do YOU care? Nick knows Billy’s not stupid (despite what people think) Billy won’t comment on Cane’s plans or his own.

Now calm, Vikki admits she has bad taste in men but she needed to learn that for herself. You nearly ruined our relationship – I wanted to sever ties with you many times but I love you too damn much. Don’t you want to protect your children? Victor asks. Claire’s not a child, Vikki warns that he’s the one hurting Claire, not Kyle.

Jack comes home in a foul mood to tell Diane that they need to prepare for battle. Cane’s not going anywhere and is coming after all of us.

Kyle has you all duped, Victor complains. Just because you hate the Abbotts doesn’t mean Kyle doesn’t love Claire, Vikki asks him to let this go – let her find her own way (or you may lose her forever) With a resigned sigh, Victor has tears in his eyes as they hug.

Jack reports that he turned Cane down and told him to leave town – it fell on death ears. Neither he nor Diane like the thought of the future of Jabot being in Billy’s hands.

Nick and Adam really want Billy to tell them what Cane’s up to. The mother of your kids runs Newman with me, Nick reminds. The only person Billy wants to see fall is Victor (who wasn’t concerned about my kids when he stole Chancellor and humiliating me in front of them) Victor doesn’t care about Chancellor – it’s a shiny toy for Nikki to dress up and play CEO. That’s enough! Nick snaps – don’t talk about my Mom like that!

Say what you want about my Dad but not my Mom! Nick erupts – and, when Billy points out that the Newmans have no room to lecture on integrity because they stab each other in the back, he (Nick) adds ‘it’ll be hard to run your mouth while spitting your teeth out!’ Take your best shot, Billy challenges – your Dad’s bigger/stronger than you’ll ever be and he hasn’t taken me down. Adam’s right – you’re not worth it, Nick says. Look at you; bullies just like your father, Billy sneers. When Nick tells him to walk away with a shred of dignity, Billy says Victor won’t even have that ‘after I’m done with him’. Nick and Adam are left to conclude that Cane has Billy in his pocket.

Jack and Diane discuss Billy – he won’t betray our father by helping Cane get his hands on Jabot. Jack could see the pain in Cane’s eyes (from Lily’s rejection – does he really think this is the way to win her back?) He’s lashing out like a wounded animal. If he can’t make Lily love him, he’ll make the world hate him.

In the park, a mopey Cane calls Lily – he’s sorry he missed her when she came by to see him and hopes she still wants to meet – we have things to say to each other.

My Thoughts: Really, Sally? Dumas/Cane is ‘the biggest scoop of the century’? Give me a break! Bigger than the sinking of the Titanic? 2004’s earthquake/tsunami that killed almost 250K? A pandemic that killed 7 million? 9/11? The holocaust/WW2? JFK’s assassination? The Great Depression? etc. etc. We landed on the MOON!! Cane returning to GC after living 6 years under an alias isn’t even the biggest story this week! Clues that this is NOT a big story – Adam casually asking his Dad for permission to publish it, EVERYONE loudly discussing it EVERYWHERE; the local coffee shop, various restaurants, and oh yes, in the park; CHANCELLOR Park, by the way. Nobody cares!
