At CL’s, Sharon worries about Mariah briefly before Nick reports that he’s been assigned to buddy up to Cane. My Dad’s ‘extremely’ worried and he might be right this time.
When Chelsea arrives at the office, Adam tells her that the unmasking of Aristotle Dumas as Cane Ashby has officially been published across all their platforms.
On the train, Cane will tell Lily what he has planned in GC if she’ll help him break the news (of his double life as Dumas) to the twins. His plans are only to acquire Chancellor. Lily’s not buying it.
Lily’s all about Victor and Nikki getting what they deserve, but knows Cane’s after more than just Chancellor. If she finds out he’s lying, SHE will tell the twins the truth.
Adam warns Chelsea that the expose on Cane also includes Billy. He’s SO relieved when she figures Billy put a target on his own back by aligning with Cane. On cue, Billy arrives to congratulate them (for twisting the knife)
Spare us the drama, Adam could have gone a helluva lot further than he did – Cane’s the focus of this story, not your failures. Yeah, and Billy’s ‘pissed off’ about them going after Cane; identifying him isn’t the problem but attacking his character will come back to haunt all of us. Are you Cane’s attack dog? Adam knows Billy’d sell his soul to get his hands on his ‘phoney brother’s billions’.
Lily wouldn’t be ‘turning the twins against’ Cane – she’d be protecting them. Collin tried to steal Devon’s inheritance and the twins, she reminds. Cane bristles; throwing his father’s mistakes in his face isn’t the best way to get what she wants. Lily only wants the truth and the fact that Cane doesn’t think her concerns justified ‘scares’ her. Until she gets the full story, ‘all bets are off’.
Nick thinks Cane might be a threat to the companies of all the ‘power players’ he invited to Nice. If my family’s business is under attack, it’s all hands on deck. Why does it always have to be up to you? Sharon wishes HE wasn’t the one always on the front line.
Nick appreciates Sharon’s concern but isn’t scared of Cane. She lists everything that’s happened; to her and Phyllis, Heather, Damian, Chance, Ian and Jordan – it’s too much. She doesn’t think Cane would come after Cassidy First – half our profits go to charity. He’ll have to go through me first, Nick vows.
Cane sees that Lily’s changed too. Yeah, she’s over the BS and developed a thicker skin. She won’t change her mind – tell me what you’re up to or talk to the kids on your own. Cane will tell Lily his plans AFTER they talk to the kids. No deal, Lily refuses to give up her leverage.
If Billy has a problem with the piece they published, Adam suggests he issue a rebuttal on Abbott Communications. Oh, right, you can’t because it’s not up and running yet. Everything in our article was true – your Mom took Chancellor from you because, as always, you weren’t up to the job. Stop – that’s enough, Chelsea interjects.
Chelsea’s not defending anyone; the article’s out, what’s done is done. Billy appreciates her protecting him but the article will only motivate Cane. You have no power or platform, Adam tells the ‘loud, yapping dog’ (Billy) Keep believing that, Billy warns – keep believing I don’t have a way to fight back – it’ll only taste sweeter when I take my victory lap. Chelsea’s left to worry to Adam – this is far from over.
What can Cane do or say to make Lily believe what he does and says? He basically blames her; the lack of (her) positive influence made him who he is. He’s been hoping too long to give up now.
Sharon appreciates Nick being willing to fight for Cassidy First. Cassie was my daughter too, he points out. They’re about to kiss when Chelsea and Adam arrive via the patio.
