In the jazz lounge, Chelsea wonders why Cane hasn’t reacted to their expose, mentioning every crooked con he and his father ever pulled. We can’t get complacent, Adam thinks the counter attack can come from where they least expect it.
Having beaten Billy in a race through the park, Sally won’t let him off the hook. She wants him to be her date for the Abbott Communications launch next week. If there’s any ‘glitches’ she’ll use her secret weapon.
Holden entertains with the story of not making it onto a reality dating show because he ghosted one of the ‘decision makers’. While Daniel and Tessa laugh, Holden and Claire notice Nate and Audra arriving at Society.
Chelsea bets Cane’s laying low – figuring out a way to retaliate.
Billy’s not second guessing putting Sally in charge but who is this secret weapon? Audra Charles – she’s brilliant and loyal to a fault. When she spots a problem, she won’t quit until she comes out on top.
Claire’s not intimidated by Audra – she’s outraged. Maybe I shouldn’t be out having fun. Holden doesn’t want her to ruin their fun.
Nate insists on stopping by to see how Claire’s holding up. Condolences are exchanged. You can’t just give in – you have to stand up and fight back, Claire makes Audra squirm.
Billy’s excited about Sally running Abbott Communications while he focuses on Chancellor. You vs Cane vs the Newmans – how does anyone walk away unscathed? she wonders.
Chelsea and Adam debate whether Cane will work with or against the Newmans.
After small talk, Nate goes to get Audra a drink – while Claire glares at her. When Tessa notices, Claire confides that she’s had it with that woman (don’t hold it against me if I cause a scene)
Adam’s impressed by Chelsea’s eagerness to go after Cane – use everything in your arsenal. He’s happy that she considers herself part of the family and is ready to neutralize Cane. Adam has a few ideas of his own on how to win this war.
Back in the park, Billy’s confident – he has his own secret weapon -Victor and Cane will lose, mark my words. Sally jokes that she may rename Abbott Communications. It’s a lot of pressure running a family company that’s not her family. Billy’s sure she’ll be spectacular ~kiss~
Tessa and Daniel look worried when Claire joins Nate at the bar. There’s something you need to know; about Audra – she made a deal with my grandfather; his funding in exchange for seducing Kyle, Claire concludes as Audra joins them.
Adam won’t cozy up to Cane (like Nick and Victor) He’ll hit him from a different angle. He and Chelsea look over when Billy and Sally arrive.
Is this true? Nate asks. No – Audra declares it ridiculous – Kyle’s been hitting on me. Claire disagrees. Lily and Devon saw him following me around, Audra claims that Kyle was the one to kiss HER. She didn’t want to upset Nate. Claire tells Nate to talk to Victor – that’s why she lost his funding. She doesn’t deserve you. When Claire rushes out, Holden follows.
Sally’s not surprised that Adam would go after Billy but is disappointed that Chelsea would let Victor use her as a ‘battering ram’. It’s not too late to redeem yourself, Billy also addresses Chelsea.
Audra claims that Claire’s lying. Nate’s having one of the worst days of his life – consoling Amy; burying his brother. Audra implores Nate to believe her. He just wanted a few hours to escape his grief – what the hell do you expect me to say????
Chelsea and Adam are informed that Sally will be running Abbott Communications. Billy will be announcing exciting news of his own, very soon.
Sorry that Claire’s good mood’s been ruined, Tessa takes Daniel’s hand across the table – it’s been a while since she’s had a good time too – and that’s thanks to you.
Audra’s had a rough day too – she’s sad for Amy and Nate (her family) He doesn’t want to doubt Audra’s loyalty – but why would Claire lie? What she said ‘holds water’. Like hell it does, Audra disagrees.
Following Claire to the park, Holden asks if she wants to talk about it. What did Audra do? She’s trying to drive a wedge between me and Kyle (at her grandfather’s urging) It sounds on-brand to Holden – but, is there any chance Audra’s not lying about what happened in Nice?
Billy’s news will come via Abbott Communications – Newman Media will be playing catch up. Chelsea doesn’t agree with Adam that Billy’s down and out – he’s got something in the works.
Tessa continues to credit Daniel with being the one bright spot in her life – she can be happy with him. Daniel feels the exact same way.
Holden didn’t mean to overstep – he has history with Audra; she has a way of getting to a guy (me) but doesn’t stand a chance – Kyle hit the lottery with you. Claire loves Kyle. But, yes, she has doubts.
Audra claims that Claire’s grieving and has no choice but to believe Kyle – he’s losing it because I rejected him. Victor’s right – Kyle will break Claire’s heart. Nate wonders how she knows what Victor thinks.
