Cane will think it over. Don’t take too long, Phyllis stands to greet Amanda, asking her friend to talk some sense into ‘this guy’.
Running into Claire on the patio, Kyle asks how she’s feeling ‘about us’. Yes, she’s still upset, and hurt and confused. Have dinner with me, Kyle wants to talk through everything.
After Diane leaves, Jack’s not disappointed in Billy – it’s no small thing that he was willing to spy on Cane for the family. Billy’s still pissed at Jill and determined to get Chancellor back.
In the park, Nikki tells Diane that Claire’s very upset at Kyle. Lectured for letting Victor off the hook, she says ‘calm down’; she wants them to stay together just as much as Diane. Kyle should be delicate and patient.
Kyle wants Claire to be the first person he talks to in the morning and the last person he talks to at night. Don’t let Audra come between us. He wants to make things up to Claire. You deserve so much love and happiness – please, give me a chance to earn back your trust.
Moving the base of operations from DC to GC has been complicated, Amanda tells Phyllis. We have to have cocktails soon, don’t let me down, Phyllis leaves her to ask Cane if it’s true (that his plan is off)
Any day together is better than a day apart, Kyle invites Claire to have dinner at his place. Claire agrees. You won’t regret it, he promises.
As furious as Jack is at Victor, Nikki’s too important to him. Just don’t stand in my way, Billy doesn’t want to have to plough his brother down to get what he deserves.
Amanda supports Cane’s decision either way. Going after Winters won’t help things with Lily and the kids. Phyllis and Billy are spreading the news that he’s backing off to reconnect with his kids. While the spotlight’s off him, Cane will make a move that no one suspects.
Next Week: An astonished Claire gapes at the ring as Kyle opens up the box … Nate just wants the truth from Audra. I did it, I agreed to Victor’s quid pro quo – I went after Kyle to get what I want, she admits in tears. … Nikki thinks it’s time she be the one to surprise Victor – to remind him of why she adores him.
My Thoughts: Good Lord – What the hell kind of brocade drapery was Nikki’s pants suit cut from? … Hello hello – Claire’s all but begging for help in processing Kyle’s ‘betrayal’. Instead of bullshit-isms like ‘relationships are messy’ perhaps Nikki and Vikki could draw upon their combined decades of cheating experience to provide some honest advice. Taking some glossy 8×10 headshots of the extended family to a wall, linking them with red string would show a jaw-dropping visual of how prolific and incestuous cheating within Claire’s own family (and Kyle’s) is, and has always been. She might want to have a Vesper in hand when she notices red string connecting Cole to both her Mom AND her grandmother.
