Phyllis tells Mike that she’s cane’s ‘right-hand man’. If he’s offered you a job, she highly recommends Mike take it.
What will you do with this AI software if you get your hands on it? Vic asks her father.
Why are you here? What were your plans? Lily wants Cane to ‘reveal everything’ to her. He swears he’s still the man she used to love/trust. This is a surprise, Phyllis asks if she can join the party.
Victor has many options once the software is in his hands. Nick and Vic both hope he doesn’t plan to destroy companies. Why have it if you can’t use it? Adam asks. Are you serious? Nick declares it unethical and illegal. He too wants to know his father’s plan. When Mike shows up, Victor dismisses the kids. He doesn’t want his old job back – he received a better offer from Cane.
You two are working together? Lily’s surprised. No! Cane objects – the plan is off. It’s postponed, Phyllis argues. Lily and I are in the middle of a conversation, Cane’s frustrated – and Lily’s heard enough. Lily leaves.
In Adam’s office, the three Newman siblings debate the AI software. Nick and Vic are opposed (it’s immoral/illegal) Adam’s for it (Dad will do whatever the hell he wants anyway)
Mike hasn’t decided whether to accept Cane’s job offer. Victor’s not surprised – he invited you to Nice to see our dynamic. Mike grovels – don’t you miss our friendship? (Mike does) Victor just wants to know if he’s going to work for Cane.
Yes, Adam was joking – sort of – Cane has to give up the software or Dad will ruin him, he adds. If the software’s invisible, Cane might already be using it, Nick thinks him clever enough.
Unable to get rid of Phyllis, Cane blasts her after Lily stomps off. Do you have any idea what you’ve just done!? This is a public park, Phyllis reminds – you might not think your relationship is over, but Lily does.
You’re right, I’m getting ahead of myself, Adam admits Cane’s plan might be underway – maybe Nick should go ahead with his plan (to befriend him) Admitting that he didn’t get anywhere, Vic pressures him to get info from Phyllis.
Phyllis has experience trying to rekindle things with an ex – that dream of getting back with Lily might be just that; a dream. Listen up – don’t you EVER discuss my private life with me again, he warns before marching off.
Did you expect me to make a counter offer? Victor tells Mike to accept; if I have to explain why, you’ve lost a step or two. You want me to earn my way back in the door; to work for Cane, but really I’d be working for you, Mike pretends it never occurred to him. Victor knows he came in hopes that he (Victor) would suggest exactly that arrangement.
Next Week: Tessa can’t wait to see how proud Daniel’s Dad is when hearing him play his first song. You came up with lyrics and the melody – you made it into something beautiful, Daniel gushes – just like you … Holden tells Claire that what went down (in LA) wasn’t totally legal. Are you protecting Audra? or yourself or both? Claire asks. If you knew the truth about what happened, Holden’s afraid it might change the way Claire sees him… Ladies and gentleman, the guests have arrived and the party is… dressed in their 50’s costumes, Billy and Sally are stunned to find Society empty and not ‘decked out for the party’. Hey guys, Cane’s glad they made it – I was starting to get worried.
