Phyllis is a ‘consummate professional’ who claims (falsely) that she has no issue with Mike, who appears to agree that they’ve worked everything out. When Phyllis again wonders why Cane needs another attorney, he again puts her in her place. We need to be a well oiled machine – this won’t be easy but the payoff will be massive.
Daniel’s feelings for Tessa don’t matter – she loves Mariah; they have a beautiful daughter. Danny can see that his feelings for Tessa are eating him up inside.
Lauren confides that Mike’s been a bit strange since she came back from New York. He silenced a call tonight, then got a text that unnerved him. She feared Victor might be trying to lure him back. Mike had a job offer to discuss – then said he’d turned it down. Whoever it was on the phone made him very uneasy.
Cane’s plan involves breaking some laws but if all goes according to plan, there will be no accountability for anyone in this room. Mike’s surprised Amanda’s OK with this. She feels it’s OK to navigate a grey area for the greater good. This software is a new world, it can do illegal things – it’s our job not to cross that line. You’re used to getting your hands dirty, she adds. Phyllis piles on – are you getting cold feet? she taunts.
Daniel’s heartbroken for Tessa and Aria. Tell her what you’re sharing with me, Danny suggests – how precious life is; the troubles of today don’t have to dictate the future. Daniel does have feelings for Tessa but wouldn’t act on them. What if she was divorced? Danny presses.
Mike gets the feeling Phyllis is trying to push him out. Enough! Cane won’t tolerate infighting. Phyllis is completely onboard. Can you say the same? Cane asks Mike. I’m here, aren’t I? Why am I being questioned? Working for Victor proves my ability to ‘massage’ the law. Can you keep potential criminal activity from your wife? Phyllis wonders what their roles will be. Lauren knows that leaving Victor was a hard decision for Mike – losing his friendship gutted him. Victor needs and misses Mike, Lauren knows. What if Victor’s pull is stronger than my wrath? Lauren’s near tears – if Victor’s trying to lure him back and Mike’s not telling me, there’ll be hell to pay.
Lauren ends a call – Harper will send Chris a link so she can make her decision. Chris loves all three dresses. Lauren’s thrilled that her dear friend is happy and in love. This will be a wedding to remember, Chris is sure.
Daniel’s sure Tessa and Mariah will work things out. Danny never imagined that Paul and Chris would divorce; that he’d have a second chance with her. No, he’s not saying Daniel should sit back in hopes of a break up. But, what if it did happen? Though encouraged to confide,Daniel wants to keep his personal feelings to himself. He won’t let them get in the way.
After Amanda excuses herself to take a call, Mike and Phyllis ask Cane for details. Hey! Billy suddenly appears to shout at Cane – you push me aside but still have Phyllis involved!? You don’t know what the hell you’re doing!
