Maybe there’s no way to fix things, Kyle pouts. Vikki encourages him to look inside his heart and fight. Kyle appreciates the support. Both look uncomfortable when Claire arrives with Holden.
Introduced to Vikki, Holden thought she might be Claire’s sister. He’s leaving tomorrow and came for his take out. Kyle would like to speak to her but she has work to discuss with her Mom. Agreeing to meet in the morning, he stops but ignores Holden’s ‘bye, Kyle’.
It’s Billy’s mistake and his loss, Audra continues to listen to Sally vent. The writing wasn’t just on the wall, ABBOTT Communications was on the letterhead and the 50 foot sign we had commissioned to mount on the side of the building. Audra thinks she should partner with someone who won’t slow her role. We have the drive – we can build something from the ground up. One question – what is this ‘next big thing’.
Holden oozes some more charm on the Newman ladies before going to the bar to wait for his take out.
Quickly deciding that they’ll start a ‘dawn of television’ vintage clothing store, Audra and Sally are clinking martini glasses when Kyle arrives at the jazz lounge to order Whiskey, neat. Looks like someone’s here to numb their pain, Audra admits she’s like Billy in that she lost someone due to her ambition. Sally thinks she should be telling Kyle that she regrets being pulled into Victor’s plan.
We have no business to discuss, Vikki confirms that Claire’s pissed to find her chatting with Kyle. No, he’s not trying to get her to take sides – he’s upset and desperate for guidance. She told him not to give up. Claire recognizes that she’s pushing him away. Kyle just said the same thing, Vikki reports.
Sally thinks it would be good karma for Audra to apologize to Kyle – your universe balance-sheet has a deficit. Maybe Audra does believe in karma (and Kyle’s getting his) Cue Kyle coming over to tell Sally that he’s sorry about the launch party – maybe it’s a blessing in disguise – working with Audra leads to ‘the road to ruin’.
Sally has no regrets about hiring Audra – she was just saying how sorry she is for what happened in Nice. Audra IS sorry – sorry that it’s taken Kyle so long to hit rock bottom – sorry that Claire got hurt. Claire’s probably having a Vesper with someone else. You’re not wired for a stable long-term relationship. Kyle laughs – did Nate or Holden tell you that? Sally asks them to take it down a few notches. Kyle will be alone tonight but he knows Audra will be alone the rest of her life- no one cares about you.
Kyle will be OK no matter what happens, Vikki reassures. Claire doesn’t want things to be over with him – but, she wants to run away when she sees him. Looking over at Holden, Claire admits that someone else is getting under her skin. [Holden’s] attractive and charming, Vikki concedes. Claire thinks she might need to live a bit more before committing to someone for life. As Vikki checks her phone, she shares a flirtatious smile with Holden (still waiting for his empenadas)
