Lauren knows Mike lied about this job landing in his lap, and that he’d already taken the job without speaking to her. Did you plan to slink off every day to work? It’s good she only has a butter knife. Mike thinks the less Lauren knows the better – so she won’t be legally affected. Stay out of it! she demands.
It would be ill-advised to use Charlie and Mattie, Cane feels he’s already lost them. Victor has no doubt they’ll come around – unless Cane doesn’t go along with the plan. You get to keep everything you own – and add Jabot to your collection.
Billy’s ‘genuinely’ sorry; he wanted it all – Abbott Communications AND Chancellor. Sally believes he was blinded by revenge. Billy now sees Cane for who he is. He believes in what he and Sally can accomplish together. Sally’s still not hearing that he’s moving on – it’s either Chancellor or me.
Cane’s coming after people we love – Mike must stop him. He won’t stand by and do nothing. He can only sabotage Cane’s plan from the inside. You’re putting yourself in danger, Lauren argues. Mike won’t be a spectator – he has the skills to make a difference. Lauren knows he won’t change his mind – at least he’s not running back to Victor.
Victor doesn’t want Jabot – it bores him; he wants to crush Jack Abbott. It’ll be a knockout punch. Don’t compare me to Jack; he inherited his business, I built mine.
Diane knows Billy has a strong sense of family – lean into his loyalty to John. Kyle texts to call an emergency meeting with Jabot’s IT – to shore up their systems. Jack will set his plan in motion – join forces with the Mustache to take Cane down.
Back in the park, Billy balks at Sally’s ultimatum. She sees no choice – her future is at stake. YOU are the one being selfish. Jill was wrong to take Chancellor away – accept it and move on (with me) or don’t. Sally won’t try to stop him – but have the decency to admit it so I can move on. Me or Chancellor is the choice.
Mike pours more champagne and scoffs at Lauren’s notion that Cane compares to Victor. How deep are you into this? she wonders.
Cane needs more than Jabot – he wants Newman Media to tell the truth about Collin – that he repented; Charlie and Mattie might come around. Are you in or out? Victor warns that once he walks out the door, his deal is off the table.
Lauren worries that Mike left one risky job for another. No, this is a one-off; Mike wants her to have faith in him. She does – but still worries. Yes, Mike has her support, if there’s no more secrets.
Sally DOES realize what she’s asking of Billy. He claims she’s the most important thing in his life (after his kids) He knows what she gave up. It’s only you, he wants Sally in his life.
Our tech team can get ahead of Cane’s AI, Kyle believes. Jack insists they partner up with Victor. He hates you, Kyle and Diane agree. Why wave a white flag in front of Victor???
I choose you, if you’ll have me, Billy insists. Sally hopes he means it. You’ll get the best of me, Billy promises – he needs her in his life. I love you. I love you, she replies. We’ll get everything we want, he vows.
Mike arrives on the train to tell Victor that Cane offered him a job. You’re betraying me and working for the highest bidder, Victor wants an answer. Cane will answer in the morning. Victor won’t wait. Then Cane’s answer is ‘no’. Victor finishes his tequila and says ‘good luck to you’, before leaving.
You’d end up with a knife in your back, Diane and Kyle think there must be another way. Jack 100% wants to partner with Victor. Trust me, I know what I’m doing.
