By the time Nate comes back to Society, Lily’s left Amy to ‘people watch’. She hates to see him so sad.

Still in the park, Audra makes a weepy call to Sally. I’ve lost him; it’s really over.

Back on the train, Cane tells Jill that Billy loves her. She loves him too – maybe we’re too much alike – we want big prizes and make big mistakes. Yes, she can blame herself. With a mention of Delia, Jill worries about losing Cane too. She hopes he wouldn’t sell his soul and harm people she knows. Make me understand how you could be so cruel.

Jack won’t join Victor in condemning his brother (though he IS frustrated with Billy) What the hell is this about!? Billy slams in to ask.

How do you feel about THIS Audra? Amy asks. She’s smart, beautiful and fearless – it was exciting when we were together, Nate admits. When Amy came to stay, he saw a different side of Audra. But this is about character and ethics. How can Nate ever believe that she’s changed?

Hugging Cane, Jill asks why he didn’t come to Chance’s funeral. He felt too guilty to face her and Nina. Jill won’t let him blame himself. Start talking – you said you were coming back to your family and friends. Like who? Cane’s sad answer tells Jill that he’s lonely – don’t give up on what really matters.

Billy wonders why Jack and Victor are hanging out like college buddies. Informed that they’re uniting against Cane. Billy’s pissed that Jack trusts Victor over him. That said – count me in – Cane needs to be brought to his knees.

Amy will never again see Damian smile but she’d like to see Nate smile. You’re a good soul, he tells her. Love works miracles, Amy knows it can change a person for the better – isn’t it worth a try?

So, how are we taking Cane down? Billy denies he’ll run to tell him everything. Victor doesn’t even want to discuss it in front of Billy; who updates that he told Jill all about Cane’s plan ‘and I was still her biggest disappointment’. Victor decides they shouldn’t speak to Jill together – they should divide and conquer.

Back on the train, Jill knows that Cane’s a good man. Maybe I’ve just been fooling you and myself, Cane keeps asking himself if it was all worth it. I should have stayed away. Other times he feels rage at everyone who’s doubted him – why not take what I want? I don’t know who I am. Am I Cane Ashby? The mysterious Dumas? Collin’s son? – or the worst of all three – I want to burn it all down. Oh baby, Jill hugs him.
