Jack thought he was getting somewhere with Cane until Victor launched a media attack. Jill relays Lily ranting after reading it – she told him that she and the kids wanted nothing to do with him. Jack worries that Cane will strike back at all of them. Jill doesn’t think he will – Cane wasn’t focused on revenge, he was focused on how to get his kids back.

If you want to do something good/noble, Adam suggests Cane hand over his AI program. You have a funny way of not poking the bear, Cane politely says goodbye to Chelsea and leaves them to wonder what he’s up to – what’s this new story?

Lauren wants to wallow in her anger a bit longer. OK, Danny will start – by listing what he loves about Chris.

At the bar, Chris gets Mike to begrudgingly admit that Lauren’s fierce and independent; the best mother – she has grace and kindness; she’s patient (except when it comes to Victor) She puts up with Gloria – and me. Likewise, Danny cajoles Lauren into sharing what she loves about Mike.

Phyllis boards the train ready to do ‘damage control’ (as requested) Cane? Cane? So urgent you’re not even here, she grumbles. Cane appears as she’s snooping around.

After Mike comes over to have a word with his wife, Danny joins Chris at the bar. Apologizing to one another, it’s agreed that Mike will always tell Lauren the truth – and she’ll try to see things from his side. Yes, ever when it comes to Victor. As the Baldwins kiss, Chris and Danny applaud.

Jill’s not sure what to believe but if anyone could swindle their way into a French winery, it’d be Collin. Wanting to believe that Cane didn’t know anything about it, she tells Jack that he’s worried it might be true, and that everything he created was built on lies.

No, Phyllis isn’t snooping through Cane’s things – she was looking for a deck of cards to play solitaire. He had errands to run – but, I’m here now. She thought he’d be blowing things up – is any of it true? Or all of it?

The foursome now sitting together in the jazz lounge, Mike makes a toast to the woman who makes his heart beat faster and their friends who love them enough to shine the light on how rare and strong real love is. Lauren also appreciates Danny and Chris mediating. They then ask Mike to officiate their ceremony and Lauren to be matron of honour.

When Adam and Chelsea drop by Victor’s office, he praises their article – bravo. Cane came by to say he’s suing for defamation and that we’ll soon be publishing a story with a very different outcome, Adam reports.

Jack has trouble believing Cane will lose sleep over questions about the source of his billions and can’t believe Jill got close to Collin again (after one of his last scams was Katherine’s will) In his last days, Collin became a man Cane could be proud of, Jill claims Cane was moved by the transformation – if you saw the bond they formed. He was so proud of what they built, legitimately – if the basis of that turns out to be a lie, everything Cane has will burn to ashes. Jack thinks that might be what Cane needs.

Phyllis asks Cane if it’s true that he was in on Collin’s con. No, that wouldn’t be a problem, she assures that she’s still with Cane. Good, Cane needs to change the way people think about him. Where do I fit in? Phyllis wonders.

Next Week: You have to know where Claire’s staying in LA. Just give me an address, Kyle pleads with Vikki. Tell me where she is … Claire’s just a really good friend, Holden tells a woman they’re chatting with in a bar. Anyone’s better than the last woman you were hanging around with, the woman says – what was her name again? Audrey something or other? … In a hospital, Sharon wails into her phone. Noah’s been in a car accident! she tells Nick. It’s bad, it’s really bad!
