Cane surprises the Abbott’s by dropping by for a visit – he’s there to warn them about a serious threat to Jabot. The AI program was stolen – likely by Victor.
Letting Phyllis in, Victor will grant her ten minutes. She’s about to make him an offer he won’t refuse. I’ve stolen Cane’s AI program. She wants to make a deal.
Adam declines an invitation to the launch. It’ll be a night to remember, Billy claims. You promised that last time, with your dated 50’s theme, Adam smirks. The insults go back and forth about whose media company will win. The one thing they agree upon is that Sally will do well. Your own mother ousted you from Chancellor – she has more faith in Cane than her own flesh and blood, Adam continues to strike low.
Diane lets Cane have it – you had every CEO afraid that you’d use your AI against their companies and now oops, it’s gone. Cane gets how bad this looks. This is NOT a threat; sure that Victor will go after Jabot, Jack wants to know how to stop it from destroying his family’s legacy.
You’ve got guts, Victor begrudgingly admits – why’d you come to me? And why would I trust you? Phyllis opens her tablet to show Victor proof (in the form of a lame animated screensaver)
Nothing can stop this program if it’s unleashed, Cane claims. You didn’t build in safeguards to stop it? Jack’s aghast. Cane came to warn the Abbotts (there’s nothing more he can do) If Jabot goes down, Jack will see that he (Cane) goes down with it.
Phyllis shows Victor her ‘proof’; ‘ the Jabot Cosmetics mainframe page – ‘execute entry’? Yes, Cane knows it’s been stolen – and he thinks you stole it. Why? Because, I convinced him you did, Phyllis boasts that Cane trusts her. He’ll cut you off at the knees before you know how to run the program, she knows Victor won’t give up a chance to cripple Jabot. What’s in it for you? Victor asks.
Leave my mother out of this, Billy warns Adam (twice) Adam persists – he doesn’t see Billy as competition – cut your losses; get out from under Jack’s shadow and leave town, so we don’t have to smell the stench of your failure. Next thing you know, Billy throws a punch that sends Adam sprawling across the floor. As luck would have it, Chelsea arrives to look at Billy in horror.
What’s wrong with you?! Chelsea blasts Billy – she doesn’t want to hear ‘he started it’ from either of them. After Billy leaves, Adam’s OK with taking a sucker punch because he knows he’s the one who struck a nerve.
