Cane underestimated Victor’s IT team – ‘my bad’; I didn’t need to warn you. Only a handful of people know about the program. Phyllis is a hacker who’s been glued to your side, Diane and Jack know she’s skilled and motivated to look after herself.
Phyllis can take the program to the highest bidder – but THIS is the deal she wants to make. ‘You’re everything everyone says you are’ (Victor’s not paying her a compliment) Do we have a deal? she asks. Yes, we do.
At the club’s bar, Cane orders Scotch and reads a text alerting him that Phyllis was at the ranch.
Adam’s pleased that Chelsea’s taking his side ‘for a change’. Billy was in the wrong, she calls him a ‘thug’. Adam will never admit this to Billy – but, I had it coming (for taking potshots instead of ignoring him) Chelsea’s pleased – that’s progress. You make me want to be a better version of myself, Adam feels sorry for Billy. He always loses – even when it comes to you (Chelsea) I’ve hit the jackpot; Connor’s doing well and we’re a ‘power couple’ running the best media company. Adam’s phone pings – Victor wants me to come to the ranch – now.
Jack and Diane fret at home. What if Victor doesn’t come after us full force, but, instead, slowly weakens us from within (by changing and deleting date)? Jack feels responsible for putting his father’s company at risk. I’m the one who wanted to team up with Victor – now he’s pulled a fast one on us.
Phyllis sits beside Cane at the club’s bar – I’ll have what he’s having. Any news on your AI theft? You tell me – you were supposed to check on Victor, Cane asks Phyllis if she made a deal with Victor. What’s he giving you for it?
Jack underestimated The Mustache – and can’t believe Cane (who amassed a fortune under an assumed identity) left himself open to this. And now Victor will do to us what Jack wanted to do to him. What do we do now?
You have a lot of nerve – I thought we had each others backs, Phyllis’ feelings are hurt. She went to see Victor to suss him out. Cane’s not buying it – you went to cut a deal.
Is this about Noah? No, Vikki and Nikki are on their way to LA, Victor doesn’t want this made public. Adam can hold down the fort if Victor wants to join them. Asked for a private chat, he insists Chelsea stay – she’s part of the family. Victor agrees – but this stays private, he reiterates. Phyllis (one helluva hacker) came by to offer him Cane’s AI program. Sure it’s not a trap, Victor agreed. Phyllis doesn’t want to get her hands dirty – and he was happy to oblige.
Jack and Diane whine that they’re fighting an invisible enemy that might be destroying Jabot as we speak. All we can do is beef up cyber security and start off-lining our crucial data. We need Kyle to come home; he can’t tell Claire anything. Jack sends a text – we need you home ASAP. Also, we need to deal with Phyllis (but it’s Billy he calls) We need you at the house right now.
You’re jumping to conclusions, Phyllis is very ‘proactive in business’ – and loyal. She’s not going to just sit around and wait for Victor to make his move. She doesn’t think it’s him – she KNOWS it is. He’ll go after Arabesque, she warns Cane.
Cane’s been sidelined – without his program he’s nothing, Victor relays what he told Cane (who then told Phyllis) – that he has no interest in taking Jabot, he just wants to crush Jack. Sensing Chelsea’s discomfort, Victor needs her to deal with it. What does Phyllis get out of it? they wonder. She’ll hand the program over on one condition, Victor adds – as soon as I get Jabot, we hand it over to her.
