Sally thinks this is too much negativity so early in the day. You need something else to focus on – she wants to set up a meeting with the secret investor. Who is it? Audra asks.
Kyle’s frustrated when Claire continues to defend her grandfather. Victor hates Jack but he wouldn’t target Marchetti (because of Summer) she also balks at the notion that Jack’s motives are pure but her grandfathers’ motives are evil. Victor hates my father because he stopped Nikki from drinking, Kyle knows it all comes back to that night, Kyle knows.
Nikki feels terrible – I should have warned you. Is there a way to reverse the damage? Jack fears it might be too late to reverse the public’s perception. Putting Jabot back online will only make it vulnerable. As long as Victor has that program Jabot’s in danger. No, Nikki doesn’t know where he’s storing it. Things are about to get very ugly, Jack warns.
Sure, Claire may have been the one to start Nikki drinking again, but the truce between Jack and Victor was tenuous at best. Kyle worries about the Abbott’s legacy and Jabot’s employees. Getting a text from his Dad, Kyle needs to go. Maybe we can talk about the Audra thing later. Wishing him good luck, Claire leaves seconds later, on a mission.
Audra correctly guesses that the secret investor is Jill. Sally’s confident that when they DO meet, Audra will impress the hell out of her.
Victor! Are you here!? Nikki comes home to bellow. Claire arrives seconds later, also looking for Victor. Kyle thinks grandpa might be responsible for Jabot’s problems. Please tell me it’s not true.
Kyle’s home to relay his chat with Claire to his Dad. We’re looking at a new way to save Jabot, Jack adds – with an unexpected source.
I’ll sparkle and shine (when meeting with Jill) Audra promises. Sally thinks it might help if she said she’s turned over a new leaf – and don’t mention your loathing for Kyle and Claire. Jill’s an Abbott after all – she won’t appreciate you targeting Kyle. Don’t blow this opportunity because of whatever feelings you have for Kyle.
Jack updates Kyle that Billy’s going to appeal to the person who stole the AI program in the first place. He’s putting out a statement that Newman Media’s story is nonsense – we’re restructuring. Kyle agrees to call Summer; maybe she can persuade Phyllis. Jack then asks about Claire.
Nikki tells Claire that Victor did indeed use Cane’s AI program to topple Arabesque – and plans to do the same to Jabot. They’ve shut the company down to protect it – and that info’s been published by Newman Media. Claire feels terrible (as she’s the reason Nikki started drinking again) Nikki must find a way to show Victor that if Jack loses Jabot, he stands to lose something precious too.
The only feeling Audra has for Kyle is hate. Don’t let it consume you, Sally fears hate is taking over her BFF’s life – snap out of it – your future depends on it.
Things have thawed between him and Clare but Kyle’s focus right now is Jabot. He and Claire have a common goal; getting Audra out of town and their lives. Jack wants to go after Victor on a more personal level – see if Claire’s willing to get her grandfather to do the right thing. It’s a longshot, but Jack will accept help from anyone who holds sway with Victor.
Nikki’s stood by ‘that man’ as he’s done despicable acts in the name of business – she doesn’t think she can stand by Victor on this one. What can we do? Claire asks – how can we fix this? Nikki’s got to get him to see that he’s not just hurting Jack, he’s hurting all of us. Are you saying you might not be able to forgive him for this? Yes, that’s exactly what Nikki’s saying.
