Nikki’s done nothing to hurt you, Jack continues to worry – she meant you no harm in taking Chancellor. Billy explains that Cane’s trying to make up for past mistakes. Do the right thing, Jack implores – for no one else but you.
Phyllis boards to train to whine about Chelsea and Daniel. My son is siding with the Newmans against me! He has no clue how much I’ve sacrificed for him. When is Newman ours? she’s impatient. Was Sally here because you want to help Billy? Cane, what have you done???
Sally declines going out for a bite with Billy – she’s not hungry and busy with work. OK, he heads out. Wait – that’s it? You’re just gonna walk away? Sally’s annoyed – we need to talk. Am I going to be running AC alone?
Opening the door, Nikki can guess why Jack’s here. Then you already know, he quickly realizes she’s talking about Matt Clark (not Chancellor) Victor’s taken care of him (and that’s all anyone needs/wants to know) Jack’s there to discuss the rumours about NE. They’re true, Nikki admits – we could lose everything.
On the patio, Tessa asks Daniel if he and his Mom had a disagreement. That’d be putting it mildly, Daniel wants to rip his hair out – every time he sees his mother, she’s done something ridiculous. Friends are there for each other, Tessa says. Is that what we are? Just friends? Daniel frowns.
Phyllis reminds Cane that he promised not to cut Billy in. Why on earth would you give Chancellor to Billy? He deserves a shot at success, Cane believes. Jill won’t like you giving Billy something back that she took away, Phyllis warns.
Sally understands why Cane’s offer is so tempting to Billy. He wants to protect Katherine’s legacy. Thanks to Sally, his demons are gone. Someone other than Nikki will run Chancellor – why not me? Why can’t you want that for me?
Everything Victor’s worked for is crumbling, Nikki hates that she’s failed Katherine. Is there anything I can do to make things easier for you? Jack asks. Nikki ‘takes great comfort’ that Jabot’s not in danger. Jack’s glad Victor’s experiencing this ‘karmic payback’ but hates that the rest of the family is suffering. I’m here for you – I want to help. Thank you, Nikki weeps on Jack’s shoulder.
Tessa doesn’t have a simple answer – she’s heartbroken, filed for divorce and sole custody – through all that we got closer than either of us expected. Something’s happening between us ~kiss~
Cane thinks Jill will embrace Billy running Chancellor. I’m giving him a chance. If Jill really cared about the company she wouldn’t have given it to Victor. Cane’s done justifying his decisions – focus on Newman – the rest is none of your business, he growls at Phyllis.
Sally understands Billy’s motives and that he wants to preserve Katherine’s legacy – but she doesn’t trust Cane; he has an agenda. Billy feels he’s doing it to make things right between them – it feels different this time.
Jack tells Nikki that Cane offered Chancellor to Billy. He hasn’t accepted and I told him it’d be a mistake, but he’s not listening. Nikki won’t give up easily and she won’t put Jack in the middle. You risked your life for me, she can’t express how much his friendship and loyalty means to her. They’re hugging when Victor comes in to glare at them.
