‘Long time no see’. Running into Claire at CL’s, Kyle correctly guesses she’s there for her favourite maple-bacon scone. Of course he remembers – he remembers everything about her.
With Victor and Mike tied up at NE with the legal department, Nikki’s summoned Adam and Chelsea to the ranch. She wants to know what Victor’s plan is, Adam refuses to go against his father’s wishes. Maybe you can’t tell her, but I can, Chelsea volunteers.
Kyle jokes that his terrific memory enabled him to beat Claire at Harrison’s game. My Dad and I tried bargaining with Victor, he surprises her. It means a lot that you’re still looking out for the Newmans. Some of them, Kyle smiles.
She has a right to know, Chelsea presses. Nikki will pretend she guessed what the plan is. Adam gains ‘plausible deniability’ by turning his back while Chelsea blabs Victor’s plan. Insisting there be no risk to Lily or her family, Nikki thinks the plan might work. If so, my husband is a genius.
Thanking Chelsea and apologizing to Adam, Nikki understands why Victor didn’t want her to know of his plan – I know what we need to do.
Kyle knows how much Claire loves Victor – that’s why you choose to downplay his actions – let’s agree to disagree. The Newman Abbott feud is off the table, she has a lot of free time on her hands – dinner? Kyle would very much like that.
Nikki won’t allow Lily and the twins to be abducted. If this is done properly it’s not a terrible idea. Wanting her and Victor to get their companies back, she’s onboard – with one condition; we bring Lily into the plan.
My Thoughts: So nice that Claire has a lot of free time on her hands – and that being unemployed doesn’t mean she can’t afford to go out for dinner – which likely can’t be said for the rest of NE’s employees… Are we expected to commend Nikki for taking the high ground? For not wanting Lily and the twins to be forcibly abducted? What a low bar the Newmans have set for themselves … Since it’s abduction month in GC, I wonder if Lily and the twins will be tucked away at a certain seedy motel… No wonder Adam didn’t want to tell Chelsea – she betrayed his confidence within a half hour. Sure Adam – Nick and Victoria will be pissed about being kept out of the loop. No mention of Abby – because she’s always out of the loop, and once upon a time, for a week or so, she was really mad about that … Now that Jabot’s out of the firing line, shouldn’t the Abbotts be busy putting their company back online? Weird that Kyle knows about the Newlywed Game – a game show which aired in the 70’s, so a good 15 years before he was born… Understatement of the day goes to Claire – my grandfather’s no saint. Oh really? Says the young woman who tried to kill her entire family… Clutching his pearls, Adam claims that he’d never intentionally frighten Lily or the twins (like he frightened Ashley into having a miscarriage, then a hysterical pregnancy; frightened an institutionalized Sharon, etc. etc) … Silly Kyle – of course you can force relationships into existence – often by forcing babies into existence; just ask Phyllis, Jill, Ashley, oh, and your Mom (who conceived you with stolen sperm she hoped would be Victors’. Oopsie)
